Endymion is the fastest and best performing sense ROM for the ds, in my opinion.
I used to find sense 3 faster.... but that was before Endymion.
Beamed from the Dark Side using xda premium.
Ditto. Before Endy, all Sense 3.5 roms were base on leaked betas, so they were laggy. Endymion is the fastest, and stable too.
+1
HTC optimized 3.5 for speed, functionally and efficientcy.
It's a much appreciated upgrade from 3.0

Alright, even though the scores are appreciated, he asked for the Sense ROM.
OK, about the scores. W00t ?!?!?!?!
I knew cm9 was faster, but by 900? And Quattro, an AOSP ROM got 1300? That's too low. I have to test this myself

Now you've pissed off the AOSP champion!!
Lol..
Been meaning to try out ICS myself... but am sticking to Reaper till HTC releases a new kernel and drivers specific to ICS... I'm all for bleeding edge experience, but dirty hacks for libs and drivers seem like a compromise to me (HD2 runs everything... but if you've run them, you'll know what i'm talking about)
So while i'll keep fooling around with the alpha betas and "RC"s, properly optimized ICS is still a couple of months away (I mean, we've had GB for ages now, and even today, ROMs like Reaper and Endymion are still exploiting more and more of it... milking out more juice than we knew we could) I'm looking at April or May as a timeline for an ICS ROM that will run as smoothly as most GB roms run on the DS today... and a little longer for something akin to Reaper on ICS.
Cheers.
Note to self : M...u...s...t .................. S...t...o...p .................. R...a...m...b...l...i...n...g...
Disclaimer : Before all you hardcore ICS fanboys gear up to flame me, please understand that i'm a fan too... but opinions are opinions, and just like you, unfortunalely i have mine too!!

Hit the nail right on the head. But still, i can't go to GB AOSP, i find ICS a lot better. I can't go back to sense, it doesn't play well with my apps. So I'm kinda stuck I still like Quattro, a score doesn't prove anything. My apps feel faster than GB, especially HD games like Blood and Glory.

Same here. Endymion has really fast sense, imho faster than virtuous. But of course you should try them yourself.
AOSP - Reaper
Sense 3 - Hyperion
Sense 3.5 - Endymion
Endymion 100% in Sense 3.5
Fastest Sense Rom?
No doubt Endymion is the fastest but Energy RCMix 4.0 Energized BLUE Edition is also a good one. It is fast and very stable rom.
For me Runydroid v3.0 or v4.0 are lighters and fasters than the others rom. They are very stable too.
But it's only my opinion..
I'm can only recommend Saga 3D by proxuser, using it right now. It runs very smooth, stable and is amazingly fast thanks to lowveld's Hyperion Kernel.

LoL... you're happy your current ROM runs "amazingly fast thanks to lowveld's Hyperion Kernel".... Imagine what an entire ROM by Lowveld is like!!

This is not a best rom question, but I'm curious what subjectively is your favorite and why? Every Rom thread seems to have at least one person chiming in with "tried them all, this is the best" comment, but surely there are some roms that just don't work out for people.
I'm running miui right now, and I love the level of customization and the little tweaks. One of my favorite features is turning on the flashlight from the lock screen, just a little tweak, but so useful. I also really liked honeysense, but I couldn't get it to stop sucking my battery 5% every hour. What do you all think?

I guess a feature I can highlight is the CPU clock management scheme. It's automated. I like jacking with my phone as much as the next guy, but CPU clocking is a feature I would rather have automated, and from what I can discern the Virtuous devs came up with quite an elegant solution.
[Edit] And I "build" CPU's for a living haha. Funny/strange and funny/haha in a way that is pretty much the one thing I'd just as soon not to have to eff with on my effin phone :-o .

I like the Sense UI. Yeah I know it takes up RAM blah blah blah but whatev's I like it. As far as this ROM goes, I can't find a d-thing wrong with it. Nothing. It's like what a stock ROM should be, and Virtuous is way better than the AT&T stock ROM.

Well, I like the fact that we at least have *choices,* no matter what the ROM, sense or no-sense, this radio or that radio, etc...
This thread wouldn't be happenin' in iPhone-land.
Currently running Honeysense and I love the low battery consumption compared to other ROMs. Other ROMs have just drained my battery crazily. But running Honeysense has prolonged my battery life greatly while giving me my favorite Sense features on my phone. Couldn't be happier with it.
I like cm7 for tweaking the auto brightness settings, customizing the power widgets in the notification bar, and customizing the haptic feedback settings.
CM7 Nightly 6/19/2011 I'm new to this but I have had 3 roms and this one is superfast and runs Netflix like a champ

When I was looking into buying a phone, I told the guy I was waiting for the iphone5 before making a decision. He then told me that's stupid because no matter what, you're still stuck with ios. I was a little offended because I had jailbroken my iphone and had tweaked it with lockinfo, five icon dock, sb settings, themed with winterboard and more. I showed him my phone thinking I would shut him up, and then he replied that I was half way to android. I couldn't believe this, but the more research I did, I realized that even jailbroken, I was still not able to do everything I wanted to on my phone.
One of the biggest reasons I went Inspire over Atrix was the number of Roms available and the XDA support was much better. On a spec sheet, the Atrix has Inspire beat in almost every category, but I believe the user experience is better on Inspire. Can't be happier.
Finally, for those of you on Virtuous Unity, how would you compare that ROM with RCmix3D? I really liked RC, so I'm wondering what the differences are.

I keep hearing about the RCMix ROM. I will put that one on the list. One issue some of us did find the last day or so is we are not able to connect adb. Weird. I am just waiting for my phone to charge to 100% and I am going to re-flash the ROM full wipe with no apps restore in an effort to see if the issue is the ROM or something in my settings.
Edit" This was fixed with a full un-install / re-install of the Android SDK. Wjy the previous install worked on other ROM's and not this one is unknown. Totally enjoying Virtuous OC'd at 1.4M. I have delved into the built it CPU frequency management scheme and it blows away cheesy CPU apps. Totally elegant.
Running LeeDroid v3.2.1 with full sense 3.0/3D add-on and it's arguably the best rom I've ran to date. The battery isn't the greatest but I keep it plugged in at my desk for the most part so it isn't really an issue for me. I love the visual aspects and animations of this rom like the 3D UI/3D widgets, the lock screen with the Lord of the Rings modded ring and the Photo grid widget.

I was on gingerbeast for a good two weeks, and it is a great rom. The one thing that I couldn't get over was the lack of tap to focus on the camera. I know it's a little thing, but I just missed it so much from my sense based roms. I went to miui as a result, and was surprised at how many customizations it has. I just flashed virtuous unity today, and so far so good!
right now im loving cyanogenmod 7 nightly 110 which i think is good enough for a stable release but i love the power and battery i get from it, 46 hours and still going
Now we have ICS with sense 3.5 leaked rom,UI just look exactly like gingerbread, when the rom goes official, would the UI close to the current one?or will it look totally different?(E.G Sense 4.0)or any improvement(E.G Full hardware hardware acceleration)Leave comment and discuss here

My guess is that there will be some minor changes to the look and feel of sense before the official release. But nothing too drastic.
And where is the pictures or prewiew os ICS ?
Can always hope for some nice changes, but as has already been mentioned probably only minor changes, shame really. Ah well, not the hugest fan of Sense in its current state anyway
I will express myself straight - i hate it. And honestly, i don't know what is going on with design section (or something like that) at HTC. Sense 3.0 is great, i like it, it looks good, works good. But Sense 3.5..arghhh, it's design is ugly, it doesn't look good. At all. And other than having Sense 3.5 i would much more like to see plain ICS.
Look of default applications (Yes, i'm talking about you - messages, contacts, calendar etc.) is much more nice on ICS than on Sense 3.5. I totally understood the effort of HTC to make something better on previous versions of Android, because UI was not so great...but with ICS this changes.
Of course I know that there is absolutlely no chance of HTC abandoning Sense, virtually non-existent chance of releasing ,,geek" version of HTC ROM (it would be against htc's will to do it, but this is a long story, not gonna discuss it here) so i guess i will have to bear with it.
If i wouldn't need to use HDMI cable, i would be installing pure ICS (CM9 presumably).
But i still believe in Sense 4.0...please, do something about this horrible monster that 3.5 is.
Of course it has some good functional abilites...but i want my UI look good. That's all.

Trip's ICS is extremely UNSTABLE!! The phone will freeze for phone calls with 30s or more. The in-call volume is very low, and it freezes when you attempt to increase the volume. The graphic are very glitchy with screen flickers. If you do not wish to make phone calls with your phone, then trip's ICS is fine.

EDIT: For ICS 4.0.1 with Sense 3.5 Roms Only
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1405457
im on arhd 5.0.1 and its so lag with ics launcher..
I also prefere the design of pure ICS. Sense looks somehow ugly in comparism.
And the rosie lags like hell! Hope HTC will fix that.
So far only sense 3.0 is better for our phone...what if ICS comes with sense 3.0 UI? You may have noticed and compared sense 3.0 roms and sense 3.5 roms based on gingerbread, you'll be agree sense 3.0 is the clear winner in terms of stability and performance..sense 3.5 is too lagy...anyways left sense UI, if ICS comes as AOSP, then I have no problem declaring it as the most stable Rom made for our devices, sense is really a memory Hungary, and after seeing the leak, I got to know that ICS also needs good enough amount of ram CPU speed, how will we make most of it if sense keeps using all the resources and therefore left no room for ICS?
Recent leaks come with Sense 3.5. There is no way Sensation gets anything less.

New build pics attached 1-27-2012
This build from the WCX Illuminati Team is dedicated to those who use the Inspire 4G. Everything for the AT&T version of this device is pre-configured for AT&T, there's no need for any gps fixes, mms fixes, sound fixes, internet fixes etc., it's good to go from the get go...just install the ROM.
We always recommend when first installing these ROM's to reboot the device a few times to ensure everything settles in real nice prior to usage/customisations. We have kept the stock rom look for enthusiasts looking to theme or customise their phone the way they want it.
We have included most all stock apps and utilities people use on these devices, and have left out things available in other ROMS that we feel most users will never use or can install themselves The device has tons of storage for those that want them.
What we've created is a very fast, sleek, customisable and finger friendly ROM. It's been tested very thoroughly before release, there were zero claims of SOD's or anything not working.
**********READ BEFOREFLASHING**********
One note to new users...this rom uses the stock recovery in order to have charging animation....in order to flash mods etc., you will need to download and flash latest version from CWM, but then you will loose charging animation....Be carefull adding scripts, the rom is already scripted for undervolting and battery life, other scripts may impact the way the rom performs
***************************************************
Can return to charging animation by booting back into regular Hboot and flashing this to get the charging animation back after your mods Thanks homeslice
There are four types of builds available:
FULL WIPE IS RECOMMENDED
ALL Builds are stock on the outside and tailored specificly for AT&T

These roms have been giving me the best GPS. No scripts, patches, or hacks required.
I was lucky to see the progression of these builds. What they are now is incredible! Beware: once you use these roms for a while you will never be able to put up with another stock Rom again!
I'm was absolutely in love with sense 3.0..... Then when wild child hit me up with a sense 3.5 based Rom I was blown away...
You will NOT be disappointed! GUARANTEED!!!
When in the right area, data speed won't be an issue. This about as good as it gets for a hspa+ enhanced area. Best peak yet. (And no, this is not on wifi)
Im on the new MikRunny rom. This is tempting me to switch over, but there cant be THAT much of a speed difference...

I was like psupernak, I loved sense 3.0 until I tried 3.5. Not going back. The 3.5 kicks some serious arse!

These roms don't have all the tweaks and eye candy. They are built for speed and stability. They are meant to be an enhanced 3.0 and 3.5 stock experience, but can be modded at ones own risk. They are smooth and solid bases that have been tweaked to run best on the Inspire. Wild Child has done an awesome job with them.

Haha yeah the only thing I didn't like was the smaller key pad buttons, but the new camera, music and other things helped persuade me!

This is an unofficial MIUI rom for our MT4GS
Based on HTC Pyramid's MIUI 2.1.20, Android 2.3.7
MIUI provides an alternative to AOSP and sense that we currently have in the forum, giving the user a new experience from his/her phone.
Keep in mind that this is a test port from Sensation, so there will be a few flaws that will need some ironing out!
I bare no responsibility, however, if a nuclear winter (or anything else) occurred after you flashed this rom.
Currently, the following features do NOT work:
Trackpad Wake (see post #2 for how to enable trackpad wake)
(Very) Flaky GPS. Might be just me though
WiFi Hotspot--Please use a 3rd party app (e.g. Barnacles)
WiFi Calling
Found a bug/something not working the way it should? Please tell me
Download MIUI for Doubleshot v0.3 Here!
Misc. information (including trackpad wake) will be posted at 2nd post.
Screenshots:
Changelog:
Code:
v0.1: Initial Upload
v0.2: Added keyboard functionality (bar sym, ?, and www.com) and sensor funcionality -- credits to tbalden and JKILO for helping out!
v0.3: Added sym/? key fix. The only thing that doesn't work on the hardware keyboard is the www./.com key. Also used v1a kernel instead of CM7

Credits:
nbetcher, blue6ix, and tbalden for contributing in fixing the keyboard!

Kornyone for CM7 for doubleshot (Ported using this kernel)
MIUI.us & Sensation MIUI rom (Used as base)
#HTC_MT4GS and everyone in the mt4gs community!
Reserving one more JIC.
Very nice. I'll test once I get home. Not a fan of the ios look, but more roms are always fun lol.
Reminds me of my macbook pro but smaller. Go go launch and mission control.
I wonder if the iphone has a finder lol.
What's. Funny is I bootcamped my. Mac and just use lion for school and windows for everything else lol.
Ima test this out.

I love u already (no homo ) I'll flash once I get home from school
nice stuff, wow, amazing!
so camera working?
Cam and corder both work fine. Not as nice as stock Doubleshot, no surprise.
GPS locked in five seconds while sitting inside my house at the desk. That has never happened with ANY rom I've used on this phone (or any other phone for that matter).
No keyboard is a serious problem but minus that this is a daily driver in my opinion. Very good work! I really like MIUI! SOOOOOO many theming options.
Is ICS next????
I'm enjoying this Rom. Can't wait for KB to work: D
Sent from my MIUI.us Doubleshot using Tapatalk
This is amazing. Waiting for the keyboard to work and I'll all over it. Love the customization
Will there b Battery drainage since it uses kornyones kernel?
Just my spare change.

I suspect it is not kernel stuff with the cm7. Cm7 kernel is based on htcs own kernel.

Meaning the battery drain for Doubleshot's CM7 is not due to the kernel??

That's True, TB is using parts of the CM7 Kernel. But Kornyone did admit it was a kernel issue. Idk, ima try MIUI out for a while. See how the battery is.

i cannot state this. But if i had to choose id rather suspect some libraries + htcs libaries that must be hacked for 3d/2d or something proprietary could be a reason. Kernel in itself for cm7 is rather close to the original doubleshot kernel (i mean the gingerbread kernel, not the ics), but of course i cant tell that its not a kernel thing. But as with the ics derivations we have not so bad battery life, id suspect not the kernel.

Could you test this Theory then Fix it? There seems to be 0 battery drain with your Kernel. Even with Heavy Usage I'm getting 30+ hours stock. You seem to be the only Dev making Kernels, and there good.
i dont want to derail this thread, sorry, but i just stated that i think its not the kernel, how could i fix then?
on-topic,
congrats for the roms dev, this is very nice !
This rom is absolutely brilliant. Excellent user interface. I am very impressed. Please keep up the good work!
I'm out for a day and I come back to MIUI... Thanks for this !
Wonderful, wonderful work. When the hardware keyboard works, i will be beyond thrilled with this ROM.
edit: i just missed a call, and my phone says no voicemail number is stored on the sim. Does anyone know how i can find out that number?

Hey guys,
I've been out of the flashing game for some time now and looking for a fresh rom.
Some of the things I really look for are,
-solid battery life
-good camera interface (ive taken over 1600 photos since sep 2011)
-I hate a phone that freezes and WILL SACRIFICE bells and whistles for it
-I DIS-like the sense feature that allows the screens to rotate like a carosel (iv done it waay too many times on accident)
I will say I do prefer sense, for all the built in features that are very stable. But since the inspire has been out for a while maybe some of the alternates have STABLE features BUILT IN.
Here are a few that I really enjoyed
-Gingerbeast....can you say battery life and stability!!
-LeeDroid....the first rom i ever tried, good balance of features
-WCX_Sense....sense done beautifully! (not great battery life though)
and here are a couple roms that didn't fit my personality/desires
-virtuous unity 1.27
-original rumrunner
-ace miui
**I'm not a fan of adding a lot from the market** I usually find this slows the phone and adds to the stability issues
Open to try anything that you guys think would work well...even if its an updated version of something i didn't really like last time around
Thanks!

Coredroid is really good, its my preferred sense rom. lots of tweaking options within it.
WOW and removing apk's was pointless, (lmao). What one ROM may work great for one person may not work great for another. You have to try them out yourself. I love Redemption 4.0 has its small issues, but also Absolution 3.7 is very solid.

I tried to explain what features are important to myself
I did not ask what is the best rom, or what is your favorite, simply which current rom will fit MY listed preferences best.
Wasn't trying to make this a super generic newb post...
and with respect. this is a development site. its a collection of projects and hacks. this isnt a library where you ask about a genre of books and we take you to them. just download and try. best bet
Virtuous Affinity seems to be pretty solid for a sense ROM. RCMix3D Runny 4.0 was also pretty best. I use my phone heavily and haven't noticed many bugs on Virtuous Affinity so I would recommend it to you.

If you are looking for stability, no carosel, and the best battery life I have ever experienced give the Juicy R2 version ROM a try. The link is in my sig. It is Gingerbread 2.3.3 and Sense 2.5. No added mods, or bells and whistles. Seriously thinking of going back to it myself. Using WCX at the moment. It is a great ROM but I have to agree that it is not the best for battery life. I can do without the new weather app in 3.0 and 3.5.

Only joking here: but darunion gets yelled at by the mods sometimes, so it's good.

I Would beg to differ on this.
Now for the OP see one of the biggest issues is that a rom could run 100% on my device but not on yours. That is the reason for the try them out yourself and see what works best for you.

You got it.
Roms are very subjective as everybody has told you. I would recommend CoreDroid V9.4 that is truly awesome and battery life great. RCmix and WCX have been discontinued unfortunately, so I would just use a rom that is still supported. Anyway, all roms in here are great and very smooth and stable. In the end, it will depend on what you like....
