hello, one of my frnd using xperia neo he had tried several times failed with the update procedure due to unknow error. His phone can not be powered since the first error event.He had already tried several times with Sony Ericsson Update software and the PC Companion as well. However, NOT any successful time he had reached. The latest software is downloaded already from the internet but it failed to be installed in the phone in the middle of process. It appeared to be some unknown error and asked me to retry. But then, I failed again with the same error. Thus, what can I do now with can-not-powered Neo?

[Q] phone displays sony logo then nothing

after trying to rom my sony ericson xperia neo v to have jellybean on my device
i got the error message status 7 so i choose the "repeat system now" option
but something went wrong (i did format system and format data not just wipe)
now my phone only displays sony logo then nothing happens
now i cannot enter recovery mode and cannot open my phone with its ics os
just sony logo
what can i di?

Somehow i got past this issue...I tried flashing the firmware again.
And it worked.
My phn ws back to normal. btw m using Neo V.
However, my problem come after that. I am unable to install any custom ROMS, like; MIUI or Pureness http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1825268
Kindly help.

Try to use SonyPC Companion and re-install orignal firmware again........

i am new at this and i don't know much

He mean just reflash the rom you was flashing when your phone bricked..........
But, i think you have to restore your phone to the original conditions before flash a new rom.......try to use pccompanion or update service......(you can download from sony web site).

[Q] Sony Tipo Dual not able to install stock rom

Dear members, I have a sony tipo dual. I tried to install cm10 on it, and was successful but later when i inserted the sim i came to know that CM10 doesn't support tipo dual.
Now my problem:
1. I tried to use PC Companion and go back to original Firmware but it says "Phone has modified software. It cannot be updated."
2. I tried to flash it with a Central Europe stock, but everytime i do that it throws an error and stops.
3. I am not able to copy the Gimlo firmware on the phone. Whenever i try to copy it says "Cannot copy item. The device disconnected or stopped working."
4. I tried using fastboot and install the .sin files but I was able to install only the kernel.sin. While installing the system.sin i gave an error of Too large file.
I have attached the flashtool's log
30/015/2013 19:15:04 - INFO - Unable to read from phone after having opened it.
=============================================================at this point my phone restarts

Now i just want to restore this phone to its original software. The biggest mistake i did was not to keep a backup when i installed CM10.

Perhaps Sony Update Service. So flashing a stock kernel doesn't work? Have you unticked TA/no final verification?
Sometimes this works! Try that first and otherwise Sony Update Service.

I have already tried using the Update service, but i get the same error "Modified Software".
Also the most irritating things is that I am not able to copy anything on the phone when I connecct it to my pc.
I tried disabling the TA/ Final verification, but this is not helping either.
Guys plz help.... the phone restarts during the flashboot process..

I was trying to edit the build.prop file.. If this works can I use Sony Update service to reinstall the original software?
Can anyone please share the original build.prop file for tipo dual. I dont have the original one and my current build.prop file shows the device as ST21i (Sony Tipo) whereas it should be ST21i2 (Sony Tipo Dual).

Sony xperia z5 bricked (video included)

Hello xda it's my first post here
Recently i tried to install on my xperia z5 android 6 by following these steps from the link below:

In detail, after downloaded Android 6.0 - firmware 32.1.A.1.185 i tried to install it into phone from flashmode with flashtool as tutorial shows.
In flashtool after:
"processing system.sin
Checking header
Flashing data"
the program stacked there the green bar didn't load at all and after 6 hours passed it popes up an error message and phone's disconnected.
After that the phone is acting like video below(rebooting all the time and says "software update fail make sure your phone is connected to computer and try again" )

Any suggestions what's going on ? Is there any way i can fix it?

Your given link shows that you have installed Z3+ fw.
Try to download your model FTF and then flash it with flashtool again.

hi, i was in the same trouble before, i was sacaried with my new super expensive brick jajaja, but i found the solution, just try to flash the generic fimeware and marking all de wipe marks in flash tool, after few attempts it flash the rom and i can enter the phone, if you see the green bar doesn't began to go just desconect your phone and try it again. I solve it in my 4th atempt

Hi, Also got up on the same problem as yours as i've downloaded and flashed wrong FTF model for for my Z5 Dual (E6683).
Just performed the re-flash using the latest Flashtool and the correct FTF for the model, completed flashing and device has returned to normal operation.

I have the exact same problem, only it won't do anything when I press the volume down and connect it to the pc. Flashtool won't detect the device. Does anybody have an idea?

"Your device failed verification and will not work properly"

Hi guys, I need help. Try flashing the firmware of my xz and I made an error (do not change 39.fsc to 41.fsc), different errors appeared when trying to flash. When I turned on my xz to repair it with Xperia Companion a warning appeared with the following message "Your device failed verification and will not work properly" and it shuts off after 5 seconds.
I notice my error so I try to do it again but I can not, errors keep appearing.
I tried to go back to 7.1.1 because 8.0 has problems with wifi and battery.

did you unlock the bootloader?
