[Q] Stock HTC Sensation Telstra RUU - HTC Sensation

So recently my phone started having issues with the wireless and bluetooth, I've asked a few times on XDA-Developers on what might be causing this problem, but no one seems to know.
I've finally decided to do a warranty job on it, as no amount of ROM, radio, or kernal flashing is fixing it.
I'm up to rebranding my phone, and I was wondering if anyone had a copy of the stock HTC Sensation Telstra ROM, and anything else I may need apart from that when doing a warranty job?

There is a stock RUU listed in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074559
I have flashed it before.

That Telstra RUU installs with the greatest of ease
You will also need to S-ON your phone. Find the guide in the stickies at the top of the dev forum and read, read, read before you start. Those that don't read the instructions end up with an expensive paperweight

Greatly sorry about the fuss, it just required me to try it over and over again about 20 odd times before it finally worked. It also requires you to take yourself to the Bootloader via ADB.

It really is tho so there's no need to beat around the bush
No, there's no way to get S-OFF apart from using a XTC Clip.
What you can get is a temp root while S-ON, but without write permission in system directories.
I'm not sure about this (someone can correct me if I'm wrong), but I believe you can't even flash OTA Factory ROMs without S-OFFing this phone.
It is what it is, if you want a high end android look elsewhere- if you want a keyboard there ain't many options.
It could be better I agree- but junk?
I prefer it to a desire-z that I had before!

this question can be really stupid, but what is the difference between OTA updates and official RUUs?
actually, what is the difference between a ROM and a RUU? What does it mean?

curious. i'll try this when I go home tonight.
since I'm in Brazil, I had to unlock my phone... paid 10 USD for it. it's just a code, there are a lot of websites which generate them automagically if you send your ChaCha's IMEI and 10 bucks.

That doesn't tell us how to S-OFF. Just install a recovery, which we already have a guide for.

but we can't install a custom recovery being S-ON. can we?
actually, I'm trying to understand what S-ON users can do... I already know that it's impossible to install OTA ROMs, but it's possible to temproot if you have a specific ROM version.
well, I think I've read so many posts and threads that I'm already confusing the information on my head.

Truly, you are confused
S-ON users have little power of their mobile device.. They cannot install a custom recovery, a custom rom, a different area/language rom (for example, I cannot install Asia rom on my Europe ChaCha since the CIDs are different) and so on. Yet I find it hard to believe that flashing CWM over the S-ON HBOOT will give you S-OFF. The engineering S-ON is a security flag set for bootloader protection.
If anyone wants to try this, feel free to do it but don't get your hopes up and don't be mad if it won't work. As you can see in the link, on the last page, they have a screenshot with a so called S-OFF'ed device, yet HBOOT is still S-ON. So there is no proof of it.
Anyone tryed this yet?

Can anyone provide me the image of a s-off Htc Chacha and the same ones s-on?

Phone shows unlocked but s=off

I had ended up using the all in one HTC One S root utility that was linked in the fourms. After following all the steps that where listed (While following the youtube guide) My phone when on bootloader will show ****Unlocked**** across the top but s=off any ideas on why that is? I havent quite been able to figure it out im just looking for more information so when I get home I can have at it again :/ just find it odd that given the steps and the fact I had done them all to the T im still having this issue. Any help would be great thanks for taking the time.
I assume this might be better fit for Q&A if your a mod i apologize if you could move it that would be great couldnt figure out how to delete the poist :/ "edit/delete" wont remove the post :/ sorry again
Well if you can post a photo of the boot loader screen that would help me in sorting out your issue.

Don't know what you are disappointed about. S-OFF stands for security being off. This may sound bad, but from a developer perspective, it's pretty good. If you have true S-OFF like you claim you do, you can flash ROMs, kernels, radios, etc... in a recovery with no issues at all; regardless of what hboot or custom recovery you have. Unlocked means that you can flash custom recoveries and such using fastboot, which is what you want. To sum it up, S-OFF is good; many devs are trying to get S-OFF, but NONE can figure it out. Just be happy about it.
Having this 'Unlocked' text is what you're going to get if you root/unlock the phone. No way to get around it. If you want to return to complete stock settings and re-lock, your best bet is to be on stock recovery and flash an RUU that corresponds to your network. You may also want to try 'fastboot oem lock'.

Oh sweet jesus you're lucky as hell.
Never ever ever sell your phone, because you got your hands on a developer one or just a phone that slipped through the cracks, because you have full S-OFF.
You should be able to flash ROMs in recovery without going to fastboot to ever flash a kernel, if the ROM is set up for it.
You would do better to change thread title...

One S HBOOT.nb0 files?

Hey everyone,
I am looking to start an unbricking project, to help people that are bricked with QHSUSB_DLOAD message, seeing if the Sensation method will work, just with a One S HBOOT file instead of the Sensation HBOOT one.
So I'd like to ask if anyone knows where I can find the HBOOT.nb0 files starting from 1.06 to 1.13? If you have them, could you please upload any that you may have.
Thanks,

Ok, I will be PM'ing people if they wish to try the method and report back to me.
I'm like HTC - I send OTA's out in batches, if something goes wrong, pull the update
Sending out a second batch of PMs
Project discontinued due to lack of interest.
Unfortunately no one replied or even sent a PM back saying they couldn't do it. If anyone wants to try it, fire me a PM and I might be able to do something.
Edit: Why the 1 star rating? This forum amazes me sometimes. I sent many PMs and no one was interested. That's not my fault.

Do you have the 2.20 hboot? I imagine you do if you just rooted today. If that is the case you're lucky since hboot partition is read only and cannot be clobbered. Just re-flash TWRP recovery via fastboot and flash a ROM for the one XL and you should be good to go.
If you have pre-2.20 hboot you might be bricked.

Is this confirmed to work on One X's bricked from flashing international ROMs? I've seen it mentioned several times before that Qualcomm download mode can be recovered from using a Linux computer. But this is the first time I've actually seen the instructions. And it really doesn't look all that complicated.
Seems like quite a few people that have bricked (by flashing international ROMs) would benefit from this, and it deserves its own thread.

Cannot confirm if this can fix a corrupted hboot partition, but it's worth a shot. Haven't found any solid guides for pushing a new hboot partition to the phone while in this mode yet. Also do not want to brick my phone to test it

Totally possible. I don't recall, or haven't seen it. I've seen a few posts to the effect of "if you have Linux, it can be fixed, PM me" but that is all I've seen. Would be nice if there was a writeup we can point people to (and I can add to my index thread).
Go to Evo 4g LTE forum and go to original development. 1st page should have a thread by yarrimapirate about downgrade. He recently figured how to brick, downgrade hboot and get s-off from QHuSB. Good luck.

If you're S-OFF (if not you can gain it by using Sunshine you can do an RUU, that will take you back to about as stock as you can get e.g stock firmware, stock ROM, stock recovery stock etc.
This thread will tell you most of the things you'd need to do.
I highly advise against attempting to go S-ON or re-locking your bootloader as S-ON has a high probability of failure and or bricking your device.
My personal recommendation would be to just take the RUU and if if I remember correctly you can make your ***UNLOCKED*** tag falsely show ***LOCKED*** instead, not sure though so if that interests you just Google it or ask.
EDIT: Here is the link to the tutorial on setting your UNLOCKED tag to LOCKED. Warning though I have not tested this or heard of anyone testing it so DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

As far as I know they do not care if your phone is S-OFF or unlocked, only that it is running the stock firmware, ROM & recovery. Reason behind this is some of their phones are manufactured and shipped already S-OFF on 'accident', so as long as you do the RUU you should be perfectly fine, at least that is what everyone has said thus far.

Your risk not mine, if you're unsure then read through some other threads until you feel confident enough or wait for another person to answer.
& Sorry if I made you a bit unconfident with my last post, I have never had to return another phone to them so all I'm offering you is what I know and or have read from others who have done what you want to do. I'm quite sure that will work as many other people have claimed it worked for them but as with anything I could be wrong which is why I did not include a "*100% GUARANTEED!*" sign. Just offering support, always do your own research too, just as I had done to find that out.
