There's no trick! read:
DroidVPN is one of the easiest VPN software for android devices. DroidVPN tunnels all Internet traffic from your android device to our servers. DroidVPN helps users to unblock ISP restrictions, bypass firewalls, and browse the web anonymously.
Right now we are still in our beta stage. Which means you will not pay anything to get access to our servers.

Nothing is free! Its just a free VPN service, unless your using someone else's wifi connection or free hotspot.
At least i can connect to the BBC player while outside of the UK..

There is no trick ,Droid vpn is normal vpn service. The main motive of these private network is too keep safe your ip and isp address. but u can use it also to bypass Airtel prepaid billing system in india for internet usage,I have checked other carriers but failed execpt Airtel which connects with zero balance on your Android mobile .

i am going to upload a video ,to show how vpn helps free internet usage of Airtel on your mobile with zero balance.

@bobcaruso and FlowerPotmen, Read my post here which explains how some people can get free internet access. Its true that our service is just like a normal vpn but some people can use it to bypass their ISPs billing system and will let you browse the internet for free.
Another feature of our app is it can tunnel IP traffic through ICMP. There are some instances when you can connect to a wifi connection but before browsing the net it redirects you to a login page. You can check if the wifi connection allows ICMP request(ping) and if you can ping google.com then chances are you can also connect DroidVPN using ICMP and presto you can now browse the net without having to pay for it. Sometimes they also leave port 53(DNS) open in which case you can also connect through UDP using port 53.

Frequently asked questions
Q: How do I root my phone?
A: It depends on your phone model. Just search the forum for tutorials in rooting your phone. Ive used gingerbreak and z4root on my P500 and it works all the time.
Q: I dont have Android Market installed on my phone, How can I install your app?
A: If you don't have Android Market, or for any other reason can not find DroidVPN there, you can download from our site instead: http://droidvpn.com/download.php
Note that if you don't have Android Market, you must install the app and download updates manually. Updates are announced via our Forum, Twitter and Facebook pages.
Q: It doesn't work on my phone. What should I do?
A: Post your log file. You can enable debug logging by going to Settings > and enable "Debug logging". A DroidVPN.txt file will be saved on the root folder of your sdcard.
You could also post the output of logcat. Download alogcat here https://market.android.com/details?id=org.jtb.alogcat Or this direct link: http://alogcat.googlecode.com/files/alogcat-2.3.apk
Q: How can I choose the location of VPN server?

A: Yes all your applications network connections will go through our VPN servers.

A: DroidVPN uses it's own simple and efficient protocol with UDP, ICMP and TCP. It doesn't support PPTP, L2TP, IPsec.
Q: How secure is DroidVPN?
A: DroidVPN is not designed to be the MOST secure tunneling software in the world, we focused mainly on speed, stability, rich of features, easy to use but making sure it is still secure enough.
Q: Why do I get "Can't allocate tun device"?
A: This error means that the tun module is not loaded. Make sure you have installed a compatible tun.ko for your phone. You can try our TUN.ko Installer if we already have a tun.ko for your phone. You can view our complete list of tun modules here: http://droidvpn.com/tun-repository.php
Q: I am getting P R P R P R in my logs. What do they mean?
A: Those will only appear if you enabled Debug logging. It is used to check if you are still connected to the server. P means that it is pinging the server and R means that it successfully received a reply from the server.

Do you have a proxy set for your browser? Or it could also be a DNS issue. Try visiting this page on your android browser and see if it will load: http://74.125.224.48/ <- google.com
Cleaned out everything under my APN settings, now it works on both my Nexus One and Galaxy Nexus. But when switching between wifi and mobile data, you have to manually disconnect and reconnect. Can this be fixed?

Seems to use a lot of battery? Over the last session it have consumed the same as AndroidOS.
Just as with manually switching wifi, it seems not to reconnect when it says it does. Can that be fixed? If you lose signal for mobile data and regain it u have to manually restart.

I believe that is normal since it would be running all the time unless you disconnect it. You might want to read this since openvpn and our app functions almost the same.

We are still working on that. But right now it will actually try to reconnect if it detects that no data is being transferred within 60 seconds.

Till now you may have read articles or posts about how to connect to a VPN service using your android so that you can access all those blocked sites. I set up an account with raptor few weeks back, never worked then. I totally forgot about it, I just tried again and it keeps on telling me it's "connecting". then "unable to connect to network. Try again?"
Is this normal?
I did follow your tutorial to the letter, deleted my previous raptorvpn settings, started fresh!
Samsung Galaxy S2 running 2.3.5
Edit1: will now it's showing a stupid message about incorrect user name or pass when I try to connect in my phone, I tried restarting it, but still. Although when I log in raptor's website, I don't have this problem. I contacted thier tech. support and opened a ticket!

Try turning off then turning on your wifi. Also pay more attention during typing the values of VPN (i.e, l is not 1 and o is not 0... etc). Also the user name is the E.mail that you registered with full format (i.e, [email protected])..
Try again and tell me the results..
Can you try to connect now? Their servers might be down or something? I did pay attention to the details, removed the info. Restarted my phone, added them again. Same thing is happening!
I go to their website, log in with NO problem though!

Raptor VPN is now part of Spotflux. So I think it's not working anymore.
any alternative ?
If you know someone in the US, you can get them to run a VPN for you. Windows XP has a built in VPN server. This is what I'm doing for a friend of mine so he can access Google Play on his Nexus 7:
http://www.onecomputerguy.com/networking/xp_vpn_server.htm
Make sure when you are setting this up on your android device you pick PPTP and you turn off encryption. Also you need to make the person a user name, as described in step #11 of the link.
Enjoy!

hi
i want to have VPN
Best vpn service
As I'm living in China and Also in Middle east countiries,I'm a specialist in finding new ways to access blocked websites. I have tried all those softwares, hotspot shieled, vpn one click, tor,....
They are good but not good enough, I think you'd better use a paid vpn service, But before you pay for it, ask them to give you a free trial account at least for 1 day.and then you can decide which one is better provider.I compared many providers. Strong vpn, hide my ass, purevpn and saturnvpn. They are all offering almost the same service, but saturnvpn is really cheap, and the support is really patient and helpful. You know 1month for $3.3 is not too much. you can also but an account for 12 months for $16 and 6MOnths for $10
satunvpn.com has free test account and you can try that, You can also ask them to give you a free trial account for 1 or 3 days.
I hope it could help you to get rid of all those restrictions.

[APP] Whatsapp Not Last Seen

Hi all today I present you with NOT LAST SEEN for Whatsapp
In no way did I develop or create this app I am simply Just Sharing with you guys.
At last, you can hide the Whatsapp "Last seen" message! You will be able to use Whatsapp at any time and anyone will know it!
Thanks to this application no one will be able to see the last time you have used Whatsapp. However... You will be able to see your friends "Last seen"!
Enter to whatsapp as usually, block process is automatic. you don't have to enter to any application to block your last seen.
Important: While you are in Whatsapp you don’t received messages and you can write them but they won’t be send. When you leave Whatsapp or turn off the screen, your written messages will be send and your pending ones will be received.
The changes done to config Mobile Data are only notified when done from Android default menu.
Please use Android default menu to turn on/off Mobile Data(Settings->Data usage) while "Last Seen" are blocking, don't use widget or shortcut.
How does it work? When you are in whatsapp, automatically, your network is disabled to block "last seen" notification. Once out of Whatsapp(or turn off screen), automatically, your network is restored to the previous state.
You can see your friends "Last seen" while this application is enabled, just open the conversation of your friend, press home button, wait for some seconds and open whatsapp again!
No ROOT needed.

This is not on the play store due to owner not wanting to place it on there with it being early stages.

 You can't see them, because you haven't a network connection if you open whatsapp... and if you have a connection, you will send your status.
Nick Fury said:

Obviously i'm going to try this. I went to just buy it given what you're asking, seems fair. Here is my thing though. I see you're offering it on a third party store. probably because some don't like using google store? I can understand this. Any way we/I could purchase it directly from you instead of adding yet another third party vendor/store to the list of places i have to get my apps from? Or for users who do not mind the play store pffer it there, ofcourse at a cost that lets you get what you think you deserve with the 30% google cut. If its a matter of privacy or the 30% google takes id rather just pay you and get a license file then some one else.

I don't publish it to Google Play Store, because they don't accept my country to sell apps :/. Both the free and the donation one are the same, if you are still wanting to donate you can use the donate button here in Xda and download the one at play store (I think that Google haven't updated it to the newest one, but they will). Or you can download the one in the OP (They all are the same).

Also, no worries. work it out as you can.

So is showing your data ip address instead of your wifi ip address? If it so try relaunching the app and entering with the wifi turned on.

Question Anyone using the new Pixel 7/pro VPN? Thoughts? Input?

I thought about using this but I assumed it was going to destroy my battery life. Is this going to allow Google to spy on us anymore just the same amount while preventing others from spying on us?
I think it's useful to have it when you connect to open security WiFi networks like hotels, restaurants, airports, or whatsoever. Completely pointless at home or in a 4G network.
Privacy-wise, I'm not worried. I have a phone made by google, with all the google services installed on it. I have my photos, contacts, SMS, in a cloud hosted by google. I use a browser built by google. I know it's not the best decision, but it's comfortable for me. The point is, if google wants any information about me, they will have it, no matter if I use their VPN or not. If i don't want my personal data on google servers, I'd start by not purchasing a Pixel phone, or purchasing it to install GrapheneOS on it.

It absolutely will allow them to track you more! Without their VPN they could only see network connections directed to THEIR servers. Now they get to know EVERYTHING you connect to.
By advice if you want to use a free VPN that is anonymous and secure, is to use TOR via Orbot. It is a little slower than you would normally see, but not unreasonably so.

Unfortunately, pretty much the only option for secure phones is Pixel + GrapheneOS. Every other vendor rams the same google crap down your throat, but worse, they don't let you delete it, and they add in THEIR OWN spyware.
Google has been engaging in some very questionable activities, politically, for quite a while now. I definitely wouldn't trust them with ANYTHING. The latest is a $13 million fund for phoney "fact checkers" (which as every intelligent person knows, are just propaganda pushers). Source: https://www.rebelnews.com/google_and_youtube_announce_13_million_grant_into_fact_checking_fund
The details of the VPN and logging policy are available here https://one.google.com/about/vpn/howitworks
The results of a 3rd part independent audit are here https://compliance.ioxtalliance.org/products/143
The reference implementation source code of the Google VPN is here https://github.com/google/vpn-libraries
I suggest you read the details and make an informed decision using the available data. I'm not advocating for/against this service, but I will say that it is a far better option than your ISP or mobile network or any public network.

Actually allwenowisa is right. The Google apps track all kinds of stuff. Even if they don't track the information they can find if you use googled VPN, if they wanted to, they could simply add that too. And if they decide that they do want that information from 5he VPN, they most likely WILL add it to the information already collected by the Google apps. So if you buy Google's phone and run Google's operating system and all off Google's app, figure they know everything or at least everything that they care about and the only reason they don't care about the rest is because they have not yet figured out a way to monetize it.
Well I have comments for this. Some of people will say google and vpn no trust. But for me integrated free vpn feature which does job is big plus. I was waitting to try it. Yes no ads blocking but always you can use web browsing with addons. For security on open networks, caffee, hotels etc., well done Google. If I'm correct similar feature available for iPhone as well for while.

It is likely a better option than other free VPNs for those unable or unwilling to pay for a service. Still showing as a Premium Service on my P7P. At any rate, I will stay with Proton.
Would rather continue using my paid VPN. I know they have zero logs and no IP tracking. I wouldn't trust Google in the slightest to not be logging and tracking whatever you use a VPN for.
