If the official ICS will release, do I have to switch back to my stock rom? unroot? Im using Revolution HD ROM.
How can I restore back my stock rom?
Only if you want the official one.
I assume a rooted version will come out quickly after release and you could just flash that and not have to worry about unrooting etc.
One way you could revert is to downgrade the firmware to a version that's compatible with Gingerbread and then restore the nandroid of your stock ROM if you did one.

I was wondering if there was a way to get the original themes back after the phone has been rooted? I am running the latest CM7.
You have to flash a stock rom. Try ClearD's rom.. its based off the Inspire stock rom.

i searched a bit but couldnt find a clear answer.. I read somewhere that when a dev posts a stock rooted rom based off an ota that it might not contain all the chipset and firmware updates that a ruu has.. just wondering what the main difference is between a ruu and an ota (other than obviously it comes over the air) and if its better to flash a ruu and root it rather than a pre rooted rom based on ota..
If I am correct it's that ruu is standalone full rom. Where ota is a addon for the 2.3.3 ROM.

thanks, but do you know if when a dev posts a stock rooted rom based on an ota if it contains all the upgrades and benefits that a ruu would

Most of them are based on the OTA as it was available before the ruu. I don't know if there is any difference between the quality.
anyone have any input? i was looking in insertcoin rom OP and noticed that the dev flashed the ruu and then wiped and flashed his own rom and now its faster
He re-did the ROM based on the full RUU as opposed to a patched 1.35 ROM with the OTA file applied. It's cleaner and should be better as a result
thank you, ok so if i just want to go back to stock would i be better off flashing the tmo us 2.3.4 ruu when its available or installing one of the 2.3.4 stock rooted roms that came out after the ota since they are based on the ota?
I'd flash the 1.29.531.2 RUU, then get the OTA files when presented with them
Hi guys,
I am having problem to revert back to stock rom after installing Leedroid ICS.
To install leedroid, i need to flash a firmware.
I,ve done nandroid backup for my stock rom and wanted to restore it back,as I am having some issues with leedroid rom.
However,I experience bootloop after restoring.
Do I need to flash other firmware? if yes, which one? Are firmware and kernel the same thing?

Always flash the firmware matching the rom btw stock = ruu just downlaod what u want and u will be allright
Does rom normally includes firmware, or do i need to download the firmware separately? Btw, is firmware=kernel?

No Firmware != Kernel
Custom ROM will have a kernel included, can change it. It does not have the F/W or Radio unless it's a full RUU.
Standalone F/W installs might or might not include a radio, the latest ones include radios, if you revert back to 1.17 you'll need to also flash a radio.
I currently have a very old GB ROM installed on a Sensation that I was given, can I just flash say CyanogenMod from recvovery or do I have to install stock ICS first?

Hi,
Are you s-off?
If not,then s-off HERE
If yes, then, follow THIS THREAD to the letter (apart from the ROM you want to install)
Basically , GB is the wrong firmware to run JB ROMS.
You must upgrade your firmware ,but you must be s-off to do that.
Thanks!

To update without s - off, re lock your bootloader and do an ruu (ics). The unlock again and flash any jb rom.
Happy to help.
I dont even know if this exists but is there a rom out there that is the latest stock Sense rom without the Tmobile ****ware included in it?
I just want a stock Sense rom without all the ****ware that Tmobile just has to include in their phones. I have been using CM10/.1/.2 for a while and just got tired of the bugs.

I was feeling like you and here's what I did ...
Relocked and RUU'ed back to the latest T Mobile stock rom. Since I was s-off, I unlocked and reflashed CWM recovery. Lastly, I used Rom Cleaner to eliminate all the bloat and crap. Now my One S is amazing!
