[Q]: How to revert back to GB stock rom from ICS? - HTC Sensation

Hi guys,
I am having problem to revert back to stock rom after installing Leedroid ICS.
To install leedroid, i need to flash a firmware.
I,ve done nandroid backup for my stock rom and wanted to restore it back,as I am having some issues with leedroid rom.
However,I experience bootloop after restoring.
Do I need to flash other firmware? if yes, which one? Are firmware and kernel the same thing?

Always flash the firmware matching the rom btw stock = ruu just downlaod what u want and u will be allright

Does rom normally includes firmware, or do i need to download the firmware separately? Btw, is firmware=kernel?

No Firmware != Kernel
Custom ROM will have a kernel included, can change it. It does not have the F/W or Radio unless it's a full RUU.
Standalone F/W installs might or might not include a radio, the latest ones include radios, if you revert back to 1.17 you'll need to also flash a radio.

[Q]What radio to use (with custom rom) ?

I have Sensation with evrything stock .,. I have done S-OFF and Recovery, and now i want to install custom rom Insert Coin..
What radio to use? How to know which one ? Stock or ?
Thansk in advance
It properly says in the thread itself. I am sure it does.
See what the dev recommends. If not go off of what base the dev uses. Or you can always leave it stock if it works like youd like it too. Heres radio thread>>>>>>> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1178143 read up and make sure if you are going to change radios that you flash his rom first. Given the right ril file will already be implemented in his rom.

You don't need to flash your radio unless something wrong with it which I dout just flash a really nice ROM and your set

Can you restore to Gingerbread after updating to RUU 2.25 base??

Hey I wanted to test out the new ARDH 6.2.1 but since its still test release, I also want to be able to go back to my gingerbread back up just incase but I don't think I can with the updated firmware. Any suggestions?
You mean the 3.25 base? If so, then no you can't go back to Gingerbread.
Downgrade to 3.24 and you can use Gingerbread.

So i can update to 3.25 then downgrade to the 3.24 base or firmwire?? Then go to Gingerbread?
No not 3.24. If you want GB again either restore a stock GB RUU or revert to the 3.12 firmware that ,works with some ICS Roms and is compatible with Gingerbread

Just the same steps as to install 3.25
1) Just copy the 3.12 ruu to zip (erase or rename the 3.25 zip if you have it on your sd-card)
2) boot up bootloader and follow the instructions
Remember to check CID, MID and MD5.
Hope I helped
Very easy thanks

If you are trying to install an ICS ROM, you need to update your firmware also, or you won't get past the beats screen.
i had the same problem and the above post is correct u must flash new firware before installing the rom otherwise it will hang on logo.
download latest firmware flash that first then install rom , i would also maybe use s wipe also after installing the firmware to give a nice fresh rom install.
I know I need to update my firmware first, but if I do that, I'm in a bootloop. That's even worse.
So, I've just installed this RUU: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1408961 with android 4.0.3 and HTC Sense 3.6. Where can I see my firmware now?
Settings then scroll to about phone its the very bottom option its in there software version and also hardware choose either one to see all info about phone.

Hi!
I came from ARHD 4.1.10. I installed the new firmware, you can pull the battery out after installation finishes or even when it boot loops. Then remove sd card, use a card reader to manually remove the img file. Put it back, Then boot to recovery, superwipe, flash new rom
Be careful using an old ARHD version, make sure to update your 4ext touch recovery to latest version afterwards

Hi,
Flashing the ROM takes no time.
It only wipes your mods and add-ons.
You would have to re-install these anyway,to be compatible with the new firmware.
Latest Firmware 3.33 is only for sense 3.6 based roms? Also is it possible to have the latest firmware with a Rom or a kernel update without doing the whole process with the zip file

No you want have to reflash your I'm running viper Ss 1.1.0 with the firmware 3.33 and there's a lot of us that's running viper Ss 1.1.0 with the firmware 3.33 and it works perfectly fine some swap radio's and such because they loss data speeds and there's a universal 3.33 also and yes some stick with 3.32
