Hey, i wnated to know, if it is possible to set a custom resolution for recording video. i know it is not possible to use higher bitrate or anything, but a 2k resolution in 1:2,35 aspect ratio is actually fewer pixels than a standard 1080p recording. So my question is this; is there any way or application that will let me change the resolution of my video recordings, while maintaining the standard bitrate. I am specifically talking about the SGSII....
or is there any way i can experiment with overriding the standard resolutions?

I havee some dvd's I managed to convert to video files on my computer for backup.
What program would be ideal to turn them into apropriate 480x800 resolution vids for my new HD2?
I would recommend MediaCoder. It's free and open-source.
These are the settings I use when converting down from HD material:
Format: H.264
Mode: Average bitrate @ 1200Kbps
x264 Profile: Baseline (IMPORTANT)
Audio format: AAC
Audio encoder: FAAC
Audio mode: Average bitrate @128Kbps
Container: MP4
Resize: 800x450
Aspect ratio: Set PAR 1:1
800x450 is of course the resolution I use for 16:9. And I change the height accordingly, so if I am converting something that is in 2.40:1, I will resize to 800x334. This is because I do not like to crop anything.
In this example of 2.40:1, you may want to resize to 1152x480 instead. That way you can either watch it zoomed out, or if you zoom in, it will be in native resolution but just miss the sides (assuming you are using the HTC Player which gives option of zooming to fill screen). If you do this you will want to up the bit-rate a bit, to 1500-1800Kbps.
But, if you are converting from Standard Def material on DVD, then just keep it in it's original resolution.
Hello, i have i-mate sp3 which has a camera of resolution 640x480, but unfortunately, when one wants to record video, the maximum resolution is something like 170x140, is there a video recorder(software) that can record video in 640x480 resolution

I hope someone will answer my question
hmmmmmmmmmmmm
it's pretty normal that cameras can do a much higher res when it comes to photos vs video records never heard of software which can change that think it's the internal hardware buffer size which decide how high a res and fps for video records
Is it possible to capture 4k and slomo (or even raw dng) video with this phone via a mod or a 3rd party app? I'm thinking of getting this phone if it thus
You can do slow motion with SloPro but the playback won't be smooth with the stock 30fps video recording. Anyone knows a way hack the fps limit?? Please tell meeee..........
Our device do not support 4k videos may be 2k can be possible with mod
whether it was possible to record in resolutions higher than 1080p?
I find the video to be a little too compressed (artifacts visible) depending on framerate and resolution. 1080p 60fps just gives me 17mbit/s wich is really low.
So what do you think, is it possible to adjust the bitrate somehow? Maybe someone can decompile the app and find the line for that setting?
This would be really great!
Thanks for your answers!

Did another check to confirm this, so here are the bitrates:
2160p 30fps: 48mbit/s
1080p 60fps: 28mbit/s
1080p 30fps: 17mbit/s
720p 240fps: 72mbit/s
Audio: AAC 48kHz 256kbit/s
While the bitrate is ok for 4k video (still could be a bit higher), it is unacceptable for both of the 1080p settings. The colors really look washed out here and there are artifacts all over the video.
720p 240fps however has a pretty high bitrate, which is needed for the many pictures/second.
I would love to see ~40+ mbit/s at 1080p and a little more, maybe ~60 mbit/s at 4k.
Maybe someone with proper knowledge can look into this
Yes!
I also look forward to that!
Very much needed
Bump. Yes this would be awesome. You would think it was the camera app that needs adjustment... but I am not a dev so I can't be sure. Also, how about USB web cam tethering?
Just flash the camera mod zip from the mod section and increase all your bitrates instantly??
Hi all,i hope my question is posted in the correct place. Something i am rather curious about and constantly wonder about is my device's screen resolution. Now i know that the Z5 Premium came with a 4k display, what im not sure of is why my device (Z5 E6653) has the "ability" to record 4k video clips,if it doesnt have a 4k capable display?
Am i wrong in my understanding that shooting in 4k is useless because my device is not capable of showing 4k resolution anyway? Or is my device 4k capable and if so,why cant one then manipulate the display to use a 4k resolution setting permanently? Please could someone enlighten me.
You capture a 4K video and watch this video on your phone? Actually 5.5 inches display is useless for 4K.. Watch on TV or a projector..
You should watch the 4K video (which you recorded with your phone) on a 4K capable display, like a 4K TV. When you play that on your phone,it'll be downscaled to 1080p. So if you don't have a 4K display, it would be useless to record 4K videos. Except if you want your videos to have the best quality for future use.
