video recorder - General Questions and Answers

Hello, i have i-mate sp3 which has a camera of resolution 640x480, but unfortunately, when one wants to record video, the maximum resolution is something like 170x140, is there a video recorder(software) that can record video in 640x480 resolution
Regards :0

I hope someone will answer my question

hmmmmmmmmmmmm

it's pretty normal that cameras can do a much higher res when it comes to photos vs video records never heard of software which can change that think it's the internal hardware buffer size which decide how high a res and fps for video records

[Q] Is i possible to change video recording resolution

Hey, i wnated to know, if it is possible to set a custom resolution for recording video. i know it is not possible to use higher bitrate or anything, but a 2k resolution in 1:2,35 aspect ratio is actually fewer pixels than a standard 1080p recording. So my question is this; is there any way or application that will let me change the resolution of my video recordings, while maintaining the standard bitrate. I am specifically talking about the SGSII....
or is there any way i can experiment with overriding the standard resolutions?

Possible to increase video bitrate with stock camera app?

I find the video to be a little too compressed (artifacts visible) depending on framerate and resolution. 1080p 60fps just gives me 17mbit/s wich is really low.
So what do you think, is it possible to adjust the bitrate somehow? Maybe someone can decompile the app and find the line for that setting?
This would be really great!
Thanks for your answers!

Did another check to confirm this, so here are the bitrates:
2160p 30fps: 48mbit/s
1080p 60fps: 28mbit/s
1080p 30fps: 17mbit/s
720p 240fps: 72mbit/s
Audio: AAC 48kHz 256kbit/s
While the bitrate is ok for 4k video (still could be a bit higher), it is unacceptable for both of the 1080p settings. The colors really look washed out here and there are artifacts all over the video.
720p 240fps however has a pretty high bitrate, which is needed for the many pictures/second.
I would love to see ~40+ mbit/s at 1080p and a little more, maybe ~60 mbit/s at 4k.
Maybe someone with proper knowledge can look into this
Yes!
I also look forward to that!
Very much needed
Bump. Yes this would be awesome. You would think it was the camera app that needs adjustment... but I am not a dev so I can't be sure. Also, how about USB web cam tethering?
Just flash the camera mod zip from the mod section and increase all your bitrates instantly??

Video resolution, which is the best to record

Is it better to record in native 720p, or downscale 1080p recordings?
Could you help?

Screen resolution curiosity

Hi all,i hope my question is posted in the correct place. Something i am rather curious about and constantly wonder about is my device's screen resolution. Now i know that the Z5 Premium came with a 4k display, what im not sure of is why my device (Z5 E6653) has the "ability" to record 4k video clips,if it doesnt have a 4k capable display?
Am i wrong in my understanding that shooting in 4k is useless because my device is not capable of showing 4k resolution anyway? Or is my device 4k capable and if so,why cant one then manipulate the display to use a 4k resolution setting permanently? Please could someone enlighten me.
You capture a 4K video and watch this video on your phone? Actually 5.5 inches display is useless for 4K.. Watch on TV or a projector..
You should watch the 4K video (which you recorded with your phone) on a 4K capable display, like a 4K TV. When you play that on your phone,it'll be downscaled to 1080p. So if you don't have a 4K display, it would be useless to record 4K videos. Except if you want your videos to have the best quality for future use.

can my phone record real 1080p video

my camera has a hq 8mp sensor in it but built in camera app can only record 720p and the specs of the phone say its can only record 720p but seeing as 8mp is higher then 1080p video it should be fine right
i have another app on my phone that can record in 1080p but would this just be upscaled from the 720p video?
i know how taking a photo works but not sure how taking video with a camera works so thought i would ask here thanks
