backup - HTC Sensation

did a nandroid backup on 1-25 then changed firmware and loaded in ics.
yesterday lost sd card and all data. question is there a way to get the data portion of the nandroid backup on the new sd card. cant do a complete backup as this will install gingerbread. so can you strip the data from the old backup. like pics music etc etc
thanks

You can try to do Advanced restore. Then you can choose what you want to restore

Migrating from a DHD to Sensation

I'll be getting the Sensation this-evening and just wanted to check the best way to preserve my data.
Does the below sound ok?
On DHD - Full system/app backup using titanium
Put the SD card from the DHD into the Sensation before initial boot/set-up
Boot Sensation and perform initial set-up

Restore Apps & Data (no Red system items) using Titanium

Noob question of the Day!!

Is it possible to create a nandroid backup and save it to my computer, then format my Sd card
( since I have a 16 Gb one and is getting full and Idk what I have )
then save the nandroid back up to my Sd card and
Restore my phone!!
Will my phone work normal after that?
Will I get all my apps and configuration back?
Thanks!!

Yes, and it's a good idea to keep backups of your nands in case of an sdcard failure...
awesome! Thanks!

I personally keep a copy of my Nandroid Backups on my PC (just in case).
The one I didn't keep however was my stock one. Doh
Formatting your SD card won't format system partitions, so unless you mean a backup of a different ROM, there's no point in making a backup and copying it to your computer. They're two completely different storage areas.
Its also worth noting that you can backup to ypur computer, then restore your saved rom to a different Sensatiln should you need to replace yours.

[Q] Titanium Backup - Desktop Data

What is the best way to backup stuff like the arrangements of your folders (with apps in them) and SMS in Titanium Backup? I new to Titanium so any help would be appreciated!
Best way to do that is a nandroid back up. It's will restore everything to the way it was after a bad flash. But if you don't need to superwipe (ie going from ARHD 6.6.3 to 6.6.4) everything will be preserved neway.
Titanium is for backing up apps and their data really. If you uninstall an app or reinstall it, you can get your data back. Useful for games.

Thanks.
Keep in mind that it doesn't back up your messages. Although there are apps that will.

How to backup foe new ROM

Hello. I'm on cleanrom but want to flash MIUI. What's the best way to backup as much as possible? I already have titanium, but is there any way to back up my accounts and such?

Titanium backup will backup all apps with data and all your settings and accounts. I would also do a nandroid backup in your recovery and save it to your computer, along with a backup of you sd/internal memory card just in case you get corrupt data.

[Q] Backup phone at the current state

Is it possible to backup my HTC sensation phone to the current state and then restore it later just like how we create backup image of windows operating system and restore?

You can also use Titanium Backup to backup applications and their data, it might be helpful if you want to switch between Sense/AOSP/MIUI ROMs or different versions of AOSP. But if you want to make an exact snapshot of system with all user data/cache/everything else - nandroid backup via recovery is the best

Titanium backup will only store apps and data. A full nandroid backup will back up every thing on your internal storage, so that everything can be restored without a hitch (apps, data, sms, settings everything). A nand restore will feel as if a change never occured (apps on your SD card will be revived as long as they exist on SD card).
I just tried Nandroid backup via clockworkmod recovery and it is exactly what I was looking for. It worked like a charm.
