I'm currently using EnergyROM (HTC Sense version 3.5) I Love The ROM. I am having issues with my selected notification/Ring tones changing after a reboot or mounting the microSD card to my laptop.
I was having this same issue with the OTA update from tmo, which is what originally pushed me over the edge to root my phone.
This is extremely frustrating. Please help if anyone else is experiencing this same issue or can give me any guidance.
Thanks in advance.

Do you have an app that does it?

An app that does what ? Sorry I'm relatively new to this.

If you mean a ringtone changer/shuffler, no I do not have one. It didn't happen until the upgrade to sense 2.3 I believe is the number.

One idea I could suggest would be to do a full wipe and install cm7, then don't restore or change anything and see if it still does it. Then it will be easier to troubleshoot if the problem continues.

I've used cm7, it does not happen with that Rom, but I was glowing to be able to use sense as I am more famillar with it.

I mean I want to use sense. I could not edit last post, sorry.

A friend of mine has a similar situation. What he found is that when he mounts the SD card on his computer his ringtone changes. Of course he uses a custom ringtone which is on his SD card so when he mounts, the phone can't access it and goes back to the default ringtone.
So I wonder if I load them to my phone if it will fix the issues.
I'll attempt and let you know thanks.

After moving the custom ringtones to the device the issue seems resolved.

My
God.
Someone with a brain. You just restored my faith in Android users as a whole.

I find in general, on any ROM, any ringtone that is on the SD card has the potential to get dislodged whenever you remove the SD card while the device is on, or mount SD over USB for an extended period of time.

Has anyone gotten this to work? It failed for me on Eaglesblood. Can someone post the apk?
This one works for me.
I extracted it from a 2.3.4 custom rom a couple of days ago in order to put into another rom that didn't have it as standard.
Can't remember which one, I seem to flash so many! So I can't give credit (although not sure I need to seeing as it's an HTC app?)
Nice! Last one worked on the stock rooted version of the newest update on tmousa! Thanks. Now off to read some books.

Has anyone had luck running a Sense 3.5 ROM on Boot Manager? I can use it with Sense 3.0, MIUI, and CM7, but get horrible lag with 3.5. Have tried RCMix and InsertCoin.

Yeah, but it doesn't help much. Time seems the best, but after two hours it is still laggy to the point of useless and I need my phone. How long does it take for a 3.5 to settle in usually?

Try changing the setting in SD Booster to 2048.
Its one of the options in the main menu in Boot Manager.

Still no luck. Also tried re-zipaligning and fixing permissions. Time is still the only thing that seems to work, but I lose my advantage on reboots. Tried increasing dalvik but nothing.
I'm thinking these Sense 3.5's are too intense for Boot Manager

Im running clockwork mod 2.5.0.7 and through rom manager ive tried updating to 5.something. However it never works, so, i have the .img file for the newest version. how do i update to it manually? Oh and i don't want to use adb.
thanks in advance
I'm guessing you flash it using CWR

thats what i figured, but it doesn't allow you to flash .img, only .zip. unless im missing something

a) You are missing the whole point of the development section.
b) there is a reason why a number of reputable members here still use cwm 2.5.0.7
SwiftKeyed from my HTC Desire using XDA App.
the only reason im updating is because i want to partition my sd without using adb, but that isn't working out with 2.5
This is the first one for me that partitioning can be done from adb. I love this board as every day I learn something new.

This problem may also be caused by a rogue app that you installed recently. Uninstall the apps that you do not use and see if it still reboots at random. If that still happens, uninstall all apps then install them back one by one to identify the guilty app.
Had the same problem before, and saw a response on another forum. take sd card out, make a copy of it, format it using windows, then copy it all back. That worked for me, no more random reboots...
I think I know to what kind of reboots the op is referring to. It doesn't reboot constantly, but like once a week it will reboot. Is not often but when it happens it is annoying.

Evening sensation people, I am a Rezound owner speaking on behalf of my friend. He owns a sensation that since day one has been plagued with random hot reboots. I thought it was a software issue and later found he had a faulty screen. We attempted to root but I could not get s-off using juopuntbear method. He is on ICS, stock ROM. He is rooted but nothing has been modified. He has clockworkmod as well. After replacing the screen and battery he still a year later has these random reboot issues. It is not tied to any particular action or app its just random. I love Android and have great experiences with the platform and want my friends to enjoy it as well power user or not. So if any info is needed please let me know ( logcats etc.). I think XDA's community is the best and I know someone here has an idea or two. I'll be checking back soon and I truly appreciate your time here guys thanks

Might be a faulty sd card or sim.
I'm pretty sure it was verified (as in using the device without these two for a while) but it was not mentioned...
Also, had a full and complete reset of all partitions been tried? Perhaps flush 4Ext recovery, wipe all partitions, and flush RUU. See how that holds.. and again, would be better to try that without sd and sim.

OK I'm not familiar with the 4ezt are you saying to try ruu with no sim installed. We have not tried that?
Sent from my Rezound using xda app-developers app
Random reboots could be a result of a loose battery. Make sure the battery is sitting tight enough in the housing. If it seems to wiggle a bit make sure the contacts are meeting properly on the battery and the device. Wedge a small piece of paper on the top of the battery to secure it.

4ext is a recovery. Similar but different that ClockWorkMod. You can find a link to it in my sig.
A faulty Sim and a faulty regard may cause random Reboot.
As matekaneve mentioned also a wiggling battery can cause this. Thanks for bringing that up

The battery thing is an interesting idea. He is on clockwork mod, should we just install the other recovery and ruu or flash a stock ROM? I'm just not familiar with The sensation and what people are using. Plus I have s-off on my rezound
Also was that supposed to say faulty SD card ?

If he's not s-off the only reasonable way of flushing roms is with 4Ext recovery with the 'SmartFlash' option turned on. Otherwise the kernel cannot be flashed (!!!)
And RUU is an exe file which takes care of mostly everything for you. It's an official HTC thing. You just need drivers so the phone is appropriately recognized by the Pc, and exeute the RUU. It will take care of the rest.
And yeap I meant a faulty sd card (and/or Sim)
