Hi,
I'm still having a problem to hide my videos (mp4).
I have tried to use both .nomedia blank file and .folder naming format on my HTC Desire but it is still not hiding my videos on most of the videos apps - Video and Gallery.
The naming format i was using is:
/mnt/sdcard/.vid/
I also added the .nomedia file into the .vid folder.
I have also tried to restart the mobile several times and it is still not working. All the videos in the .vid folder are in .mp4 format.
Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks,
ssboyz
Root Explorer treats my .avi files like an executable instead of opening the video player. The video plays fine from My Files, but I was hoping to totally replace that with Root Explorer. Can I change the file association?
MTP? (Multimedia Transfer PHAIL)
I was trying to transfer mkv files to my transformer and it always wouldn't let me do so. Explorer would crash or the transfer dialog would hang.
Any way I could transfer mkv files using USB?
So I was running Hammerhead and all was fine, could transfer any type of file from PC to Internal Storage or SDCARD through Explorer. Now I upgraded to Moray 2.2.1 and I cannot transfer .mkv files.
I transfer an avi it's ok.
Rename the avi to mkv and it fails.
Rename back to avi and it works
Rename a mkv to avi and it fails.
The error I keep getting is 'Windows explorer has stopped working' then 'Explorer is restarting'. Typical non descriptive crap.
I am running Windows 7 will all of microsoft updates. It was running fine before like this.
Any help would be great guys. I really don't want to reload my Xoom, but I am headed to Niagara Falls on Sunday and need to take it with me.
UPDATE:
Just loaded my backup of Hammerhead and the same thing happens. Damn, now I have to consider my computer is crapped out.
Thanks.

I always had that problem from day one with the Xoom out of the box. The only way I was able to transfer .mkv files was to put them in a .zip file first then transfer and unzip with Astro or HD File Explorer. That should work for you until someone smarter than me can give you a permanent remedy that doesn't include the whole .zip file deal.
I should add that I use Win 7 and the issue exist with all .mkv files regardless of size.
Did that work for you?
It does work for me. But I swear I was able to transfer files before just with drag and drop onto the SDCARD.
Oh well. I just I will skin the cat the other way.
Thanks for the help.
If anyone else has this issue you can also just try to change the file extension to something like .jpg transfer the file then change it back to .mkv.
I recently renamed all the files .mkv1 and left them that way. Now they all transfer no problem.
Using MX video player I am able to tell it the new extension is a video file. Never have to change it again.
I seem to have more luck transferring files using WiFi File Explorer. You could try that and see if it helps.
Hello, so I'm having this issue with MX Player when playing files from my network because they load really slow, but the problem doesn't happen when I load them directly from MX Player, the problem happens when I load them from file explorers. I noticed that when I load them directly from MX Player their location is my network drive as in 192.168.1.50, but when I load the files from a file explorer the IP is 127.0.0.1, the port number depends on the file explorer I'm using, for example F-Stop port is 1235 and the ASUS explorer port is 2222.
So I found this thread and it seems to be a similar problem https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/solved-how-to-stream-bluray-to-mx-player.2731461/#post-52331493 the packets "being delayed while begin dispatched".
The server is Libreelec (Kodi) with SMB2/3
But I wonder if there's any way to fix this issue without having to install a different file explorer?
