This may be kind of random and possibly just me being picky, but does anyone know of a way to make the notification bubble on the Email app icon (showing number of unread emails) to only display until the next time you open the app? So after it received some new emails and gave you a status bar notification, it would display the bubble, but only until you clicked to open the app. Kind of like the way BLN works (lights on until you wake up the screen). Sometimes I just don't feel like reading (or opening) all my emails, nor do I feel like deleting them since its a POP account and I manage it from my computer anyway. Any ideas?

No one huh? Well does anyone at least know how to completely get rid of the notification bubble over the Email app icon???
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using XDA App
Maybe just set your email to not sync so often. Like once or twice a day.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
I actually did that, but I don't read all my emails so I perpetually have a little circle ontop of the icon showing "49" or "55" or however many unread emails I have. But I don't really care to know how many unreads I have haha. Sorry if I'm being picky. There just always seems to be a solution for everything around xda haha.

I would love to have the facebook icon like the iPhone has that shows a notification counter when there are unread messages or whatever. Is it possible for android? I tried searching but all I get are task bar notification apps.

I agree! I wonder if its possible?
Its possible. Take HandcentSMS for example. It basically looks at the stock messaging app; then displays the contents in its own very customizable way. Then you can even have a widget for the homescreen complete with a counter for how many unread messages you currently have.
Well let's get it going! I know the amazing devs on xda can do it!

Are you using a custom ROM or something?
Yea I'm using mikz but i seen it on the royal liquid Rom so its not just this one
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
That widget comes with the Royal Liquid rom which is an Acer Liquid port to the EVO. The only messages I've gotten on it are my messages that I get from my facebook contacts. The two buttons underneath it let you call that contact or message them back. It does not work with SMS messages or phone calls. So it is basically a facebook messaging widget. Not IM but just sending messages.

Here's a picture of the programs over 10 or so hours. First off WHY are some of these programs running so frequently; like music. Second how do I stop the alarmmanager proccess? Thank you in advance.

I can't stop the programs from turning on every 30 mins?
Some people have had good success with a Android Market program called Autostarts. I am thinking about trying it. It is a $1.
If you try it, please post back your results. I want to know if it only works for programs or if you can control individual processes.
See its keeping my phone awake
I think most of those need to be running in backround for the phone to function properly. If its a user app and you dont use it often just uninstall it or freeze it with TB. Task killers dont work and will just result in the app restarting itself.

Mister Hat...out of curiosity what battery app are you running there in the screenshot?

I think thats the miui battery info indicator.

Yeah I got to lookin at it a little bit and thought that myself. Didn't know right away because I've never actually used MIUI.
I've searched the play store, but am still finding it difficult to find the app I'm looking for.
I used to have an app back on the Touch Pro 2 called Power SMS that allowed me to see how often I texted someone, how many texts have been sent during a certain time frame, which day of the week I get most texts.. and stuff like that.
Here's a screenshot I was able to find

Have you tried Friday? It might have what you are looking for.

Hmm, that app seems to be more of a timeline kinda deal, not really what I was looking for.
Thanks for the suggestion though.
There might be some features like what you want in a SMS app like Chomp or Handcent.

I used to have an app like these that showed texts and calls by day and could even break them down by hours. Ill look through some of my old backups and see if I can find it.

I'm trying to find which app or widget this is. Per the screen shot its the lower left where you can drag multiple apps into to avoid clutter. I'd like to add it to my other home screens but can't seem to find the widget for it. The name just says Google but I can't find the app to place additional instances of it.

That is part of the launcher feature. I use Nova and have this option.
Thanks. I actually added Google + and until you drag apps into it, it doesn't have the circular pattern around it so it didn't appear to be the correct app but it actually is. Pretty cool for those wanting to keep the home screen clean

If you use a launcher such as apex (probably nova too), you can drop apps on top of each other to make a folder. In the launcher settings it will even give you the option to change the look of it. Has nothing to do with Google+.
