How do I stop these programs from running so often. - T-Mobile LG G2x

Here's a picture of the programs over 10 or so hours. First off WHY are some of these programs running so frequently; like music. Second how do I stop the alarmmanager proccess? Thank you in advance.

I can't stop the programs from turning on every 30 mins?

Some people have had good success with a Android Market program called Autostarts. I am thinking about trying it. It is a $1.
If you try it, please post back your results. I want to know if it only works for programs or if you can control individual processes.

See its keeping my phone awake

I think most of those need to be running in backround for the phone to function properly. If its a user app and you dont use it often just uninstall it or freeze it with TB. Task killers dont work and will just result in the app restarting itself.

Mister Hat...out of curiosity what battery app are you running there in the screenshot?

I think thats the miui battery info indicator.

It is. This alarmmanager service stays on. How do I stop it?

Android OS bug - silent killer

When Android OS bug strikes it kills with no mercy
Since i got SGS2 i kept my Captivate as backup alarm for many cycles discharge in couple of weeks recharge ect. no problem ,no apps running in background , phone in plane mode with Cognition rom i get great standby time. Can hold out for weeks, but then, one night, out of the blue BAM Android OS kills it in two hours flat lol
Lesson: don't rely on your phone for mission critical stuff

Yes this is odd. Hope it gets figured out

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that most likely the battery is either getting weak or isn't calibrated correctly. And just whatever is using that last little bit of energy, which, in your case, will always be the android os, is going to show using the largest percent of the battery.

Haha maybe it didnt register the battery changing at the beginning.
Is it the sudden battery drop?
What is it???

I have run into this multiple times but only when I listen to music. I can have it fully charged at 8:00 in the morning and then 9:00 its dropped almost 50 percent. I looked up how much battery the music player is using and its under 1%. I never had this issue with Froyo...LG should not of rushed out the GB update like that without figuring out bugs like that

I wouldnt exactly say LG "rushed" at getting us the gingerbread update.
It was the fact that my battery % didn't change for over 7 hours

Battery failing after two weeks of use?

My battery just drained 50% from half an hour of texting. My screen is on auto brightness and I'm inside. I rebooted and it's still draining rapidly. Should I exchange it?
It sounds to me like you have a rouge app going wild. Download "system tuner" from the play store, open it and click on task manager and view what apps are running and view how much each one is taxing your CPU. Hope you find your answer...

Agreed, I had a phone that would die within hours, deep down I found some odd app and that was swallowing the battery, disabled it and everything was fine.
I killed everything except for Messages in the stock Task Manager and it continued to drain like crazy.

Really fun app to test everything. I read its what is used to test quality at factory.
Thought it would be fun to share

Interesting.... thanks for sharing. Maybe post the APK as well? Next time please post it in the proper forum, as it should be in Themes and Apps.
It appeared after a reboot? I've not seen it. I've rebooted multiple times. I reboot after every full charge cycle. Moto is starting to scare me. Anyone else have this?
Edit: its in the system app folder but I have no way to launch it. Weird.
I will figure it out once my upgraded shows up.

Speedtest tethering location

When i am setup to do tethering from my phone i go to speedtest.com
it goes through the process and determines what server is closest to me. i live in medford OREGON. it shows me as being in KS.
how is that possible??
Try and change the server in the tools tab at the bottom (second from far left):

The server will change just fine if i do it., however i don't understand why it wants to pick the wrong location by it's self.
If i run speedtest from my phone it picks the correct location based on where i am.
If i tether and run it from my laptop it show me as being in KS.
Could that be happening because it's a hacked mod?

Could be, I've never used that mod, so I'm not entirely certain if it's what's causing the location errors.
