I don't think you should replace the screen by yourself. Also FYI it's not like a normal touchscreen. According to the manual, the screen is an electronic screen which changes finger touch to electric signals, hence "tochscreen". So probably you would have to play with the hardware also. I have replaced my screen for Rs.3000 (some $50) from samsung service. It feels better (even better than the stock screen).

it's only the screen parts because the phone is working and the touchscreen is working too i can use my phone i received my Gmail mail sms etc and i 've the haptic feed back when i unlock it but i don't have any image and when i unmount it everything apart the screen seems to work ...
edit: i want to change the LCD display which is dead not the external part of the screen....

Tutorial for changing the LCD panel
although note that buying a new panel would cost you quite a lot of money, you are better off buying a new phone i think

I don't want to change the panel i want to change the display and anyway i just successfuly completly unmouted the phone, i'm just looking for a webshop where i can find a cheap LCD display (normally it's ~ 30€

i don't follow you...you said you didn't want to change the external part of the screen
the screen on all touch devices consists of two parts:
the digitizer (thats the external cheap bit) that transcodes touches to digital signals
and the lcd panel (that's the internal expensive bit) that projects images
what is your problem exactly
also i suggest you take a look at ebay for parts

I want to change the lcd part
My phone seams to work because when i call it ring and i can answer it by sliding the screen where there were sliders when i send a sms it ring when i receive a gmail it ring but i din't see anything the screen is totally black ....
I hope you'll understand
Excuse i i'm not clear

Advice needed from people who've repaired TP screens

Ok so i walked into my desk at work last week and cracked the LCD - i had already puchased a new digitiser as my screen was getting pretty scratched up so i figured i'd simply buy a new LCD and take the phone and new parts round the corner to my local phone shop who were happy to replace my screen and return the next day.. great.
Fast foward and now i have a BIG problem. The new LCD doesnt seem to work once the phone has booted. SO, when you turn the phone on you get the usual windows boot screen with the rom info in red in the bottom corner (im using Monx's latese 6.5 rom). After that though it all goes Pete Tong, when then alignment wizard starts the screen goes nuts, flickering like an old TV and not displaying a steady image. The guys at the store say the phone is damaged from the knock to the screen however before I did a hard reset and removed my sim and SD card the parts of the LCD that were still able to display the today screen etc were showing everything correctly and flicker free and even allowed me full touch control with the stylus.
I basically need some advice from people who know a thing or two about replacing Touch Pro screens. Despite what the shop guys say i suspect that my screen is not compaitble with my Touch Pro which is originally a UK Vodafone but i now live in Canada and got the new LCD from the States. The person who sold me the LCD said it was compatible with all Touch Pros & Diamonds, but then he would say that wouldnt he!
My options are either buy another LCD and hope that does the trick or bite the bullet and get a new crappy canadian contract and a new handset. please help me ive tried the search and cant find anything that helps me and im desperate for a solution!
Cheers
Its a LCD issue what you got, my guess is that the person at the store either gave you a faulty one or its a duplicate lcd, also cleaning the LCD connector with alcohol would be a good idea. Its very rare that in the Diamond/Touch Pro category the connector to get damaged.

Anyone found Replacement SCREEN for Acer neotouch

I cracked my screen (while it was in the pocket of my jeans). Anyone know where I can find replacement screen? Is it easy to change it?
Thanks

Thank you very much, I will look into this one.
screen seems to work fine, installation was not too hard. However, new screen acts little weird, as once phone is off, backlight turns off immediately, but you still can see image for few seconds under normal light, pixels show through, and then it fades away.
Look for an original AUO H380VL01 or HTC Touch HD Sharp matrix... It's reported to be compatible with our phone
cracked screen too

I installed mine today -after 6 months with broken screen- I bought lcd for HTC Touch HD T8282.It is far more cheaper than the acer one and fits perfectly.ebay item 290424248491.
The HD screen is the same of NeoTouch?
I've paid 70€ for a screen for newTouch, but your proposition is more good: 50€!!
Are you sure it's good for Acer? My touchscreen is OK...
Im using it since last friday. its perfect
I received my screen today, but it's difficult to open this mobile phone!
I remove 5 screw on sur back of the phone, but i don't know what remove

i have the same prob.... i dropped my phone and my screen blanked ....and i need another lcd .... i was thinking about what you did.... but if i'll get the HTC one the front of the mobile will be with HTC logo instead of the ACER one ...
right?
screen now fixed
I took my phone in to a local shop and they were able to change out the screen using an HTC HD screen (yes, the exact same screen as the neotouch). All is fine with the screen. They messed up the power button, but that is another story. I watched the guy do this and it seemed like a hell of a lot of intricate work to do yourself. I was happy to pay the $120. Now, I just need to return and get them to redo the power button (installed it incorrectly when putting it all back together).
For those adventurous enough- go for it, but I suggest the cheaper HD screen. And no, only the screen was replaced, which is under the touch screen/digitizer that actually has the acer logo. All looks as it did before.
I took my neotouch for a motocycleride in the rain. It didn't like it too much and now the touchfunction is messed up on parts of the screen. It all displays as it should but I can't use parts of the screen. I should be allright with just replacing the digitizer right? Ebay item Item number: 170518652337
Hi, the same for me.
Touch doesn't work on some area.
Need change digitizer or LCD?

Hi,
this didn't work in my case. After replacing my broken original lcd screen with a new lcd display (eBay - No. 120608475783, Original HTC Touch HD LCD Display T8282), I can see that the display is switched on, but it doesn't seem to receive any signal (like you turn on your pc monitor but not the pc). Now I have two questions:
1.) If only the lcd display is broken - should I still see something on the display? Because on my broken display, I only have a black and a white part and some coloured stripes, mostly where the display is broken.
2.) Is it possible that there is something more broken on my NeoTouch or did I simply receive a broken lcd panel? It did fall off the couch, completely flat on the display.
fyi: the new lcd was missing some isolation (on the flexible part with some electrical components) which was present on my original lcd. I used some sticky tape as a replacement because it is directly positioned over some other electrical components on the phone when in place.
New Info:
Everything except from the display seems to be fine - when it is connected to my PC running "My Mobiler". But I have seen pictures of mobiles with a cracked screen whre you were still able to see (partly) the homescreen, etc. On mine, I am not able to see anything while the cracked screen is mounted - only white and black parts and some colored stripes...
Update: The delivered display was broken. Yesterday I received a new one which works perfectly!
many thanks in advance

[Q] LG G2 - Screen Cracked

Hi Devs, Members and Guests, how you doing? To be honest I was doing well until my LG G2 cracked on the top just a bit and now I can't pull my notification bar or do any operations on the top of the phone...
I re-created with Paint what happened to the top of my phone:
((check the attachment of "How My Phone Is.jpeg"))
The red and orange is exactly where the crack of the phone is, not that thick, however it's noticeable. The black marked area is where you the phone does not operate (you touch it and it doesn't do anything). The green line is safe area. Also, I'm running CM11 (recommended for any LG G2 users) with TWRP and runs very good.
Now the problem is that I really need my phone fully working again.. It works but I have to do some weird stuff so I can at least text someone. So here I got some questions that you guys can help me out:
1) How much you guys think it is to fix the screen?
2) Is it possible to change the resolution or the display in the phone so it will be displaying the ROM in the working area of the phone? Here is what I mean by that:
((check the attachment of "Question.jpg"))
3) Any other solutions you guys got?
Thanks for all of you who read and those who can reply and help. Have a good day
First off, fixing the phone will cost you, if you do it yourself, around $60-$70 bucks. That is for the LCD+Digitizer+mid body assembly. And that is by far the easiest way to repair the phone. You just switch all your internal parts from your old assembly over to the new assembly and pop your back cover on. Easy breazy. I just did this myself and my phone is now working great. As for your second question about changing the resolution, no. You can change your resolution but it will not "shrink" your screen to the usable portion. Your only option is to replace the LCD and Digitizer.

Broken touchscreen

Hello dear community, my dreadiest fear just realized today :
my X2 decided to make one with the concrete...
luckily, both with my heart, only the touchscreen shattered from this unholy union.
So now I want to replace only the broken thing (less expensive) with a replacement part I found on aliexpress (25 € for those wandering), BUT I was unable to find any clue about the separation of the LCD and the touchscreen :
Are they inextricably bound together as the galaxy S series are ?
Or are they just attached with some tape as any good reparable phone should be ?
I was also wandering whether the screen parts were the same between the X1 and the X2 !
If you have any material showing how to proceed with the separation, and care to share them, I'd be in your dept forever !!
Boujou bien !

The disassembly should be the same as the X1 video here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NOG1SISbKw
Yes I have seen this video, but it is only showing the removing of the screen/touchscreen from the phone, not the separation of the LCD from the touchscreen (they are both broken in the video, hence no point to mess with them !)

They are fused together so it's not even worth trying to remove them. 99.99% of the time you won't be successful.
Good to know !
I almost succeeded once, with a heated bench, But I'm not willing to try that again…
Did you have to fix yours already ? Any clue about backward compatibility with the X1 assembly (20 % cheaper !) ?

I imagine they would be the same display assembly but I'm not 100 percent sure.
I Sat on my Huawei honor X2 -Screen is not working Properly
Hello (posted this in wrong area a few weeks ago)
I sat on my X2 GEM-703L under several pillows - bend was 1/2 inch - the top & bottom were 1/2 inch lower than center . I carefully bent it straight (there is a small kink in metal frame right side just above center button. Everything else seems to work beside the screen. *** I will push "4" and the key adjacent character is recognized, also it will type on its own or type 3-5 characters when I only pushed one...
Questions:. Does this sound like touch screen Replacement will fix these issues??? Or is thier additional interface hardware attached with the touch screen, or both?
- I really like that phone - hoping it is not a lost cause...
Thanks for your help

Hello Gary, sorry just saw your post.
I Think this might be fixed by a change of screen, but the problem might also come from the bent frame too.
For the tactile to work properly, and not register wrong input, the screen needs to be grounded and I think also calibrated to the phone caracteristics. If you just replace the screen, it's environment would not be the same as it is suppose to be anymore (frame with a kink) hence there is a risk that the new screen might reacts weirdly, registering ghost input etc... Because the screen might not rest flat on the support frame, and the contacts used for grounding might not be working anymore.
I have a spare screen that I*just bought for mine, unfortunately my problem seems to come from the motherboard, so the screen is useless for me.
If you want to give it a try, and live in the US, pm me !
If you don't want to do it (the screen comes without a frame, so you have to use your old one)
I'm willing to buy your phone to try to save mine !
Best,
Quentin.

Screen damaged what should i do

My sister just broke her moto x pure.
The display works, however the digitizer do not works correctly. Cannot post pictures because the wallpaper is containing private information and i cannot change it.
She cannot use the entire screen.
For example on the lockscreen, she cannot use the 8. And the other digits works very badly. So she cannot unlock her phone.
What should I replace (screen, digitizer...) and where should I find the replacement part ?
Thank for your help
You'll need to replace both the digitizer + display as they come together. If you are good at repairing phones, you can get the display from eBay or else send your phone to service center if you don't. I would suggest you to send it to the service center.
You could use a USB OTG cable to connect a mouse and thus regain control of the device in order to clear any sensitive information prior to having someone fix it. I have bought and fixed several Moto X pure edition phones with cracked screens for family members. Most of them did alright, but one phone had the screen replaced, then a cow stepped on it. Although it didn't crack, after a while parts of the screen stopped responding to touch. The screen I replaced it with has not been damaged at all, but parts of it have stopped responding to touch as well. Sometimes I wonder if these phones don't have a particularly weak and easily damaged screen. I sometimes get my replacement screens from GadgetFix. If you fix it yourself make absolutely sure that you get a screen+frame assembly. It's just a few dollars more, and totally worth it. And be careful when you transfer the speaker grill trim to the new screen that you don't press hard enough to crack the screen.
Thanks you, I think I will change the screen and the frame.

Is this what I should buy ?
The screen that you posted does not include the frame. I briefly looked on eBay; you might find one with the frame included for a few dollars less than gadget fix, but for simplicity I just linked this one. On the back side of the display you will notice the screw inserts. That is what you need to look for.

Could you point me to a tutorial or a video explaining how to change the screen
I believe that Ifixit has a whole teardown tutorial for this phone. If not just search YouTube for (phone model) screen replacement, watch it a time or two, and then pause it while you do each individual step. If the first video you watch doesn't explain things in an understandable manner just watch another one. It's been a while since I searched for one, but I think there are at least a few good ones.
