Hey guys,

Iv seen it on a couple of Notes and its super thin and doesn't feel bulky.

Dude, obviously i googled and since i couldn't find it, i asked here, for a case like the ones that come for the note, side flip case.

Polished Battery Cover or other mods

Hey guys, just wanted to share my polished battery cover, it was starting to flake so I thought I may as well just polish it up.
I think I've seen this before but I couldn't find a thread, what else have you guys done to your phones??

I only used 400 grit sand paper and water, then once all the film/lacquer type stuff was removed I then used 2500 grit and water to smooth it off and it started to get shiny. I did this in straight lines, I also removed the HTC lettering.
I did use some metal polish afterwards which made it even shinier.

Depends really, where do you live? I'm in the UK.
It is something you could do yourself though, buy a pack of various grade sandpaper - 400 grit to 2500 grit. Then I think you could make up some kinda metal polish with some household stuff lol..

Try an auto parts store. It's used when repairing auto paint.

Thanks I'll def check it out, I was thinking of using mothers metal polish also.

There really isn't much to it. Start with 400-600 grit sand paper and go in straight lines from the bottom to the top end of the cover, you can add water if you think it is too rough or hard to do this. Once all the protective/clear layer is removed, move up to a higher grit - I used 2500 grit but you can use 1000 and then 2500 to get more of a shine.
Once you are happy with how it looks, dry it and then use some metal polish to make it super shiny :good: I did remove the HTC lettering of the back before I started.

There are 2 problems, there is no picture available so im not sure if its just the top removable part or the entire thing. and its out of stock

Here is a full housing cover and the shop is legit and trustworthy and the other parts have pictures and they looks like original! The company is also from germany and it's big enough that they can't sell imperfect items.

I'm buying the one you linked from aliexpress. Ill constantly update this post to inform you how long it took, how much it was ect.
Edit 1: So i just purchased it, the White housing was $53.19. I decided to go with EMS shipping which is 35.79 leading to a total of $88.98, woah thats alot. I will edit this post again in 5-15 days (when i get my housing) with pictures and more!
Edit 2: The seller shipped it, now i wait more..

Why are you getting this? I mean is it just for the white housing?
I purchased (at a jacked up price at a T-mobile store no less) an awesome white housing car with a chrome (plastic, but not painted chrome..in other words, no chipping that shows white underneath) by Skullcandy and I paid $39.99, which i am sure can get for around $10 now.....
So i am just curious....what is the big draw here?

The big draw is that your phone is literally no longer silver this isn't just a case its an entire new body for the phone. This is also handy for those who have scratches and marks on their phones

Tell us about the housing when you get it. Im not sure if it will fit on our one s, because maybe the white special edition has some changes in its housing. Im waiting for the seller answer.

Looking for Underwater case for my s4

Has anyone had a chance to try out a underwater case for their s4 yet? I cannot seem to find a solid case.
I am looking for something similar to this:

but that is some oem case that has not been tested so don't want to risk it...
any other suggestions out there?

Seidio is developing the obex case. Hopefully it will be available soon. Its waterproof up to about 2 meters I think.

Thanks, I already seen this case, but no one knows when it will be released, I personally like the look of the one I found on ebay but I do not trust the source or its build quality.

That one on eBay looks beautiful, do you think the back is plastic ? that panel on it...
I want to make my phone completely safe from any damage, as far as possible anyway, shock, water (just like a light rain or shower, would not trust the ebay one with submersion), and im a person that tends to break charge ports a lot so wireless charging is important to me... damnit Obex release already xD

I just want the underwater case to take pictures when I go in the water, im not worried about my device getting damaged and I don't really want the S4 active as the camera on it is only 8mp and lacks in root development.

If you change the volume button to camera key in the camera settings you would be able to take pictures underwater with any case. You would just press tge volume button while in the camera app to take a pic.

the one I found on eBay is only water resistant, it cannot be used or taken underwater...
so is there a case for our S4's that can be used underwater?

Well I was about to suggest Lifeproof, but:
1) they don't make a S4 yet.
2) they recently got bought by Otterbox in May, so
3) there will be a delay in development while Otterbox cleans house, consolidates, lays off all the marketing/sales/admin staff and maybe even the R&D folks...
4) then Otterbox will announce a "new addition" to their ARMOR line...

i jssss loving it... and it is reusable also... besides of bulky case that skin cover is really osm.. jsss wear it when u wants to put you device to underwater shooting....

How sturdy does it feel, As in, does it feel as though it could come open at any time ?

I contacted Seidio about the OBEX and they stated that it would be released quarter 3 of this year so that should be within the next month of so.

im not a big fan either but if u want to bring it to the beach or pool or something its nice to have.comes with the air pump so its sealed up like a big ass screen protector lol also comes with a little pen

I'm also going to buy the verizon model and since im not on verizon i'll intresting in how it could be removed.
but i know that when i had xtremeguard back protector (a transparent sticker) everytime i removed it, a part of the beats and htc logo was also removed.
So, maybe if you will put duck tape on it, remove it and repeat the process it will eventually come out.
I know it will probably not going to work, but this is the best solution i could think of right now

Its laser etched into the frame. I found thses sample 3m vinyl wraps in amazon that I'm going to try. Hopefully it will add a little texture for a better grip at the same time.

Use a P-Touch lable

Sand it with light grit sandpaper. You are going to have to sand the whole thing to make it look good, but if you take your time you should get a nice brushed but shiny look.

Of course. It's going to make the entire back look like a price of brushed aluminum a lot brighter than it is depending on what color you got. But it's gonna look totally different.
