I'm also going to buy the verizon model and since im not on verizon i'll intresting in how it could be removed.
but i know that when i had xtremeguard back protector (a transparent sticker) everytime i removed it, a part of the beats and htc logo was also removed.
So, maybe if you will put duck tape on it, remove it and repeat the process it will eventually come out.
I know it will probably not going to work, but this is the best solution i could think of right now
Its laser etched into the frame. I found thses sample 3m vinyl wraps in amazon that I'm going to try. Hopefully it will add a little texture for a better grip at the same time.

Use a P-Touch lable
Sand it with light grit sandpaper. You are going to have to sand the whole thing to make it look good, but if you take your time you should get a nice brushed but shiny look.

Of course. It's going to make the entire back look like a price of brushed aluminum a lot brighter than it is depending on what color you got. But it's gonna look totally different.

Recently, I accidentally scratched my screen. Does anyone know of a way to either remove the scratch or fill it?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
learn your lesson and put a screen protector on it. theres no way to remove the scratch but a screen protector could help make it less visible.
OMG!!!
Sensation's screen supposed to Gorilla Glass. Please have a look onto below link's list.
http://www.corninggorillaglass.com/products-with-gorilla/htc
Could u also pls let us know exactly how this happended ?
OMGWTFBBQ!!
GG isn't scratch proof, it's scratch resistant. I bet this same scratch on a non GG device would have been awful or maybe even cracked the screen.
OP - the only thing I know of to do is get a good screen protector. A lot of times the screen protector will make the scratch really hard to see.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
ofcourse there are ways to fill the scratches...heard very good stories about displex http://www.displex.com/
displex is fake... I bought it one time for my phone and it did NOTHING.
Thanks. I will thank your posts when I get back to my computer, because the xda app doesnt have a thanks button.
I will get a screen protector. Also, I was able to make the acratch smaller by putting toothpaste on it.

Displex worked fine for me many years ago on an old SE. Not sure with the new touch screens. And presumably gorilla glass, if indeed harder to scratch, will be hard to polish out any scratches.
If anyone has the misfortune to trash their Sensation may be they will do a little test on the screen with toothpaste and Displex?

you could always try the little kit that you can buy that repairs chips in a cars windscreen.. its basically a resin that fills in the chip in a windscreen to virtually nothing and for a scratch it may fill the hole and leave just a small remnant of the scratch... this is basically because you obviously see through a windscreen and it works well for that application...
failing that as others have said you will have to suck it up or find a replacement screen on ebay and put a screen protector on it.. i seen a replacement screen for $50 on ebay and if the scratch is that bad maybe thats another option
I have the black skyrocket and I would like to change the housing to white. I would even consider another color. Has anyone found a site or know where I can get the housing pieces? I know that I will have to replace the front screen due to the border being black on mine.
Any help would be great. Thanks!!
You're gonna end up spending more on those pieces than you did for the phone.
the complete front panel with screen is $220. that's more then the phone its self if you got it on contract.

I did find a few site that had them and I have also come to the same conclusion that you guys pointed out. It will cost me more to place everything to make it white. I will just have too stay black or find one on ebay that the insides have crapped out.
Thanks again guys.

Aside from the "why did you get a black one, if you wanted a white one" question
Have you thought about just selling yours on ebay (or similar) and just getting a white phone? Like just about everything else, if you price the parts individually... It always costs more than buying the finished product. I guess White Out wouldn't cut it?

In the short time I had my SGS2, I read this tutorial on taking the outside housing off and sanding it down to give it a matte finish. I'm sure something like that can be applied to the Skyrocket, since it's nearly the same design. Take off the housing, paint it white, and replace it. The screen wouldn't be white, but maybe it looks good like that.

I guess i can live with that blue color that EVERY Tmobile user has, but since im gonna have this phone for 2+ years, i thought i'd make it my own
id like to spray paint the inside part Black or maybe red.
how would u guys recommend doing this?
I would not recommend spray paint. With a steady hand, an artist brush, some hobby paint or enamel, I can see that blue ring painted any color you wish.
Of course extra care will be needed to make sure you're newly painted ring does not scratch.

Agreed...just about any paint you put on anodized aluminum is going to look good exactly once, then will scratch or wear through immediately. I wouldn't mess with it...just get a custom case.

See if you can pull it off, Take the glass out of it. And take it to a shop that does anodizing and have them black anodize it. Shouldn't be too expensive, and it will last forever. (Basically)

I only used 400 grit sand paper and water, then once all the film/lacquer type stuff was removed I then used 2500 grit and water to smooth it off and it started to get shiny. I did this in straight lines, I also removed the HTC lettering.
I did use some metal polish afterwards which made it even shinier.
Hope that helps!

Depends really, where do you live? I'm in the UK.
It is something you could do yourself though, buy a pack of various grade sandpaper - 400 grit to 2500 grit. Then I think you could make up some kinda metal polish with some household stuff lol..

There really isn't much to it. Start with 400-600 grit sand paper and go in straight lines from the bottom to the top end of the cover, you can add water if you think it is too rough or hard to do this. Once all the protective/clear layer is removed, move up to a higher grit - I used 2500 grit but you can use 1000 and then 2500 to get more of a shine.
Once you are happy with how it looks, dry it and then use some metal polish to make it super shiny :good: I did remove the HTC lettering of the back before I started.

THX for your reply whrn I come back to my home I do this
nice job! my cover already looks ****ty, so once it piss me enough I'll definitely do you trick!
I cracked the glass on my camera lens. What can be done about fixing it??
I know insurance covers it, but only if I pay the $200 deductible. HTC can fix it for next to nothing in cost, but that requires I mail the phone to california, wait for it to be fixed and for them to mail it back.
I have found the entire back portion of the phone available on eBay for $40 however after closer look, these are all for the HTC One X, not the HTC One XL.
I was talking to a friend of mine and he says the glass is just a very thin piece of protection and you really dont need it so I should just remove it. As it is now, the camera takes extremely blury photos. Any ideas on how best to fix this? If the glass is not important, I might just remove it entirely but it'd be nice if I could fix it somewhat cheaply.

I'm pretty sure it happened while I was working. I keep my phone clipped into my seidio active holster. The case keeps the phone protected quite well. I've dropped the phone from the height of 4-8' several times, without any adverse effects.
I know the night I was working on a large data/phone cabling job, I am sure I did not drop it. But when I went to take my photos, they all came out blury and I found its cracked. Has two cracks, forming sort of an X. I would bet you that it happened while I was working on the hard tile floor and rolled over on top of something hard like one of my tools or something. Possibly. Still unsure.

I did call AT&T warranty, I was told that they do not cover small issues like cracked glass on the camera lens. They will only replace the phone if it was not working... like a bad micro usb port or something. If I was more sleezy than I already am, I would break it so that I can get it replaced. But I'm not doing that.
