Didn't work for me. XXLA4...

Doesnt work on RocketROM 21. I bet its not Eybee's fault
Would be nice to change the splash with my owner info.

today i test on XXLA4 it work.
if you can't copy logo_q1.jpg into /mnt/.lfs/ you just root your phone.

Tried again, no joy. My phone s rooted and has RocketROM on it.
I use CWM from recovery mode only, not the app.
What could be the problem?

Hi, just to report that it worked fine for me. With CWM I has some troubles, maybe I was doing some mistake. With the Odin method it worked perfectly. I use CheckRom, XXLA4. It is difficult to choose the right picture, to fit them on the screen, but the process is OK.
Thanks!

It works !
Only that abyssNote kernel got its own splash screen, meaning, first I get my mod splashscreen, the abyssnote's splash screen and then boot animation.
On Speedmod it works flawlessly cause it doesn't have a own custom splash screen
Rom is Criskelo's
Thanks

Works now! When you have the CAUTION sign, it's using a different picture. Restore the original without the CAUTION sign and it works. There's a how to in the Android Dev on how to remove it without a jig.

I dont have this problem ( triange/flash count) but to remove it, is really THAT simple?
Why so many users are purchasing this jig thing?

The jig is for flash count

He posted about how to reset flash count without a jig.....or its just removing the triangle? Makes no sense....

First, you have to have UC-Kernel on your phone. Do not flash anything below if you are on different kernel.
UC-Kernel can be found here.
Read below on "how to have your own custom boot logo"

How to change bootlogo/bootscreen
Our kernel (v03 onwards) comes with its own bootlogo/bootscreen... but to enable that bootlogo/bootscreen u need to separately flash a file via ODIN...
This basically is based on what Skin1980 had posted to modify bootlogo...
[ how to enable loading custom bootlogo ]
first download modifier-XXKPQ-bootlogo.tar
check the md5hash of the file to ensure file integrity
reboot device into Download mode
connect to PC via USB cable
start ODIN
make sure that device is detected
click on PDA and select the file u downloaded
now click start
after flashing is successful the device will reboot
now flash our kernel!
[ how to have ur own custom bootlogo ]
this can be done ONLY after u flash the modifier
u need a 480x800 image and it has to be in JPEG format
the file should be called as logo.jpg and has to be saved in /mnt/.lfs/
thats it reboot device to see ur own logo
[ how to disable loading custom bootlogo ]
first download stock-XXKPQ-bootlogo.tar
check the md5hash of the file to ensure file integrity
reboot device into Download mode
connect to PC via USB cable
start ODIN
make sure that device is detected
click on PDA and select the file u downloaded
now click start
after flashing is successful the device will reboot
now custom bootlogo will be disabled!
[ download links ]
Modifier XXKPQ
MD5HASH: fd95a5097ec37911023b23df08f53fa4
Stock XXKPQ
MD5HASH: 0a2a8a45c4b44cbbf170e3b85ff748dd
[ troubleshooting ]
at first u may need to reboot 2 or 3 times to see our custom bootlogo
if even after flashing the modifier u are unable to see our custom bootlogo OR if u want to revert back to our bootlogo; then:
once device boots start RootExplorer
go to the folder /data/local/tmp/
delete the file uckernelbootlogo
reboot device
this will force the kernel to push our logo to /mnt/.lfs/
Click to collapse
Tips:
1. its /mnt/.lfs/ not /mnt/.ifs/
2. You can use the move command in terminal emulator since .lfs is hidden
3. Save any .jpg to sdcard as "logo.jpg"
4. mv /sdcard/logo.jpg /mnt/.lfs/logo.jpg
5. Once logo.jpg is in .lfs, it seems it cannot be overwritten, you need to flash the modification again if you want to change boot screens.
Sir wheres the DL link..
nice work man
You can right click and save the pics above directly and use them as logo.jpg
STEP 1: Save the images and put them /mnt/.lfs/logo.jpg
STEP 2: Thanks inciongd for the awesome screens!!
superb buddy...

To change bootlogo again without flashing,
Delete the file /data/local/tmp/uckernelbootlogo
Reboot (a few times, till stock boot logo is pushed by kernel)
Then place the new boot logo.jpg to /mnt/.lfs/
Reboot

are you trying to do this on cm7 like me? if so, it's a bit of work to do it 'cause you have to flash other fw to do this and go back to cm7. if you're not, are you flashing the "extra" cfroot from the universal thread? if so, are you getting the image noise like you're supposed to?

[UPDATED 22.01.12!] - [BOOTANIM]+[BOOTLOGO] Android boot loading bar ICS-blue

WARNING: I am NOT responsible if you damage your device!
Hi i9003-Community,
I have created a new bootanimation for our i9003 with it's native 480x800px. It's colors are kept in a black and ICS-blue colored style. The animation is made out of two parts, that normally should roughly fit the time our device needs to boot up. I also have attached a matching bootlogo to make the fake boot sequence look even more complete. I hope you enjoy my work. Any feedback is very welcome.
Loading Bar Bootanimation (ICS-Blue)The animation is split into two parts:
A loading bar that is slowly filling (left picture)
Full loading bar with wait animation (right picture)
Preview:

}
Note to installation of bootanimation with changed speeds:
The file "bootanimation - speed <mult>x.zip" has to be renamed to "bootanimation.zip" before you install the animation
Change-Log:
22.01.12 - v1.1
added some nice extra animation
more frames
although the animation is much bigger now I did not face any longer boot times
added device name to animation
made loading bar look a bit better
thanks to HeathenMan for optimizing the image size
Installation for UtterChaos Kernel and amit.bagaria's CF-Root and CWM5 Kernel:
Push the attached zip file renamed to bootanimation.zip to /system/media/ and replace the original bootanimation.zip
Don't forget to create a backup!!
Loading Bar Bootlogo (ICS-Blue)
Change-Log:
22.01.12 - v1.1
added horizontal line as in animation to device name
made loading bar look a bit better
Installation for UtterChaos Kernel:
First, if not already done you need to enable custom bootlogos (as written here):
Download the modifier-XXKPQ-bootlogo.tar from above linked post and check it's md5 hash to make sure that the file is not damaged
Reboot into download mode
Connect your device via USB and start ODIN
Flash the downloaded file as PDA
Now flash UC-Kernel
On your device open the folder /mnt/.lfs/ with RootExplorer and create a backup of your logo.jpg.
(or "adb pull /mnt/.lfs/logo.jpg path/on/your/computer/logo.jpg")
Extract the attached zip and replace the original logo.jpg with the new image.
(or "adb push path/on/your/computer/logo.jpg /mnt/.lfs/logo.jpg")
Installation for amit.bagaria's CF-Root and CWM5 Kernel:
First, if not already done you need to enable custom bootlogos (as written here):
Download the Extra Version of amit's CF-Root from here
Reboot into download mode
Connect your device via USB and start ODIN
Flash the downloaded file as PDA
On your device open the folder /mnt/.lfs/ with RootExplorer and create a backup of your logo.jpg, if there is one.
(or "adb pull /mnt/.lfs/logo.jpg path/on/your/computer/logo.jpg")
Extract the attached zip and replace the original logo.jpg with the new image.
(or "adb push path/on/your/computer/logo.jpg /mnt/.lfs/logo.jpg")
For other Kernels:
I do not know if this also works with other Kernels, search in your Kernels thread if it supports custom bootlogos. If it does follow the instructions in this thread to enable and install an custom bootlogo.
Thanks, it looks really good, problem is my phone is in service center hehehe
Nice work buddy
Thank you guys.
Attached a bootlogo to OP

I flashed the cf-root and have not seen the original animation.

amit's CF-Root? Have you deactivated the bootanimation with tools like Blade Buddy that set debug.sf.nobootanimation = 1?

Hmm, I could you try amit's CF-Root or UC-Kernel? I really don't have any idea what causes the problem, if it's kernel related or a system setting.

Could you please edit your post so that you don't quote the whole OP? That makes the thread so hard to read.
The zip with the bootanimation contains a file called desc.txt
Code:
480 800 5
p 1 0 part0
p 0 0 part1
The number in the first line, last column describes the speed the animation is played with. I decreased it from 30 to 5, but if that is too slow for your phone you can increase the number to some value you like.
I will now upload two other versions of the bootanimation with 1,5x and 2x speed of the original.
Taraen
man at speed 10 it is perfect many thanks
Man, I'm working on a rom. Can I use this bootanimation as default for it? Thanks!

Troubleshooting
If you boot in stock recovery, after flashing CWM Recovery, you have to:
- download Root Browser from Play Store
- rename file install-recover.sh to install-recovery.sh.bak in /system/etc folder of your phone
I suggest using this CWM recovery to root your phone ONLY. This version is not fully compatible with Android 4.2.2

After successful root i tried to do a factory reset, but the phone is stuck in clearing data and won't boot again. My guess is this cwm is not fully compatible with s7580, but I'm noob... (my phone was on stock firmware, and all i did to it was this tutorial)

You have a different partitions table. I think you have a different version of s7580 (GT-S7580E or GT-S7580L (Remove the battery from your phone, and the model is printed on the white label inside) or a different rom. Please digit *#1234# and tell me AP/CP/CSC version
Now we wait so we can flash an custom rom on this phone!

Installing twrp and rooting the sm-t116 (tab 3 lite 7.0 3g)

IM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BRICK YOUR TAB OR DECIDE TO BE CARELESS OR CREATE A CYCLONE... you know the drill.
HOW TO ROOT SM-T116 TAB 3 LITE 7.0 3G VOYAGE-XX ( Galaxy Tab 3 Lite VE (3G) (SM-T116 ))
After searching for over a month on how to root/install twrp all i cound find were instructions for the SM-T110/1...
if thread already exists pls notify
N.B I TAKE NO CREDIT FOR THIS RECOVERY IN ANYWAY
I am writting to help fellow SM-T116 owners... Since ive been searching for a long time.... I believe there isnt a guide to root this Tab yet.
- N.B MAKE SURE you device's code name is goyave or goyave3g
1. Download the twrp recovery here
- download the recovery in .tar format...
- you will upgrade to v3 manually.
2. Download Odin v3.10.* here
-> copy them to a place you know on ur pc such as Desktop
3. Boot your Tab 3 lite to download mode by: pressing "power + home + vol down"
-> believing all your drivers are installed correctly
3.1 open Odin*.exe ,
3.2 connect your tab and press volume up...
-> at this stage Odin should recognise your device
on the ID:COM section like
{

}
4. UNTICK AUTO REBOOT or you wont be able to enter recovery
5. Tap pn AP and go to the recovery you downloaded.
select it
6. Press on Start to begin the flashing process
-> After Odin flashes the recovery it will tell you PASS!
7
7.1. Preas and hold POWER + VOLUME DOWN
7.2. when the screen goes black change and hold HOME + VOLUME UP
Now you will enter TWRP... stage 1 done.
rooting on post #2:good:
Now TWRP is functional... Time to root.
1. Download Chainfire's SuperSu flashable zip here
-> and thanking is not a crime.
2. Reboot to recovery...
ALLOW TWRP TO MODIFY THE SYSTEM PARTITION
3.1. Select install
3.2. navigate to your supersu zip
/sdcard/* or /extsdcard/*
-> when you are at the folder where your zip is it will be on the dialog on the right.
4.1. select it
4.2. swipe to confirm
4.3. select wipe cache/dalvik and reboot...
Now you have a Custom Recovery and you are rooted... Doors open.

I have this tab as above, it is locked(programmed) using an administrative app named Cellwe EMM. Basically i cannot download anything on this tab with neither usb nor sdcard including the internet. All i have to do to get rid of this security is wipe using custom recovery. When i get the tab in download mode it has this MDM DOWNLOAD BLOCK which block me from flashing and installing custom recovery in this tab. My only hope is if i can create an update.zip for twrp or cwm to be installed in this tab using stock recovery. This is where i need help, can someone create this for me or help me with a guide to do this
