I have a whatsapp backup (titanium backup) from my rooted android phone which I would like to restore to my unrooted kindle touch. I tried sideloading the tianium backup app, but that didn't work since titanium backup would ask for root privileges on the kindle. Is there a way to do this perhaps manually? or some other app?
thanks
Titanium Backup is a Root Only app, you can't use it on an unrooted device because it's need SU access to function.

Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000B.
I had version 2.1update1 rooted, then i installed titanium backup and i did a full backup of my apps data.
Then I updated my device to froyo ( 2.2 ). Now I am not root anymore.
I tryied z4 and other solution from xda, both failed.
Question: Is it possible restore some apps data from titanium backup? I can see all files in titanium backup dir.
Thanks
If you are no root forget about titanium. If I were you, I would install a custom rooted rom.
put attached update.zip in ur folder....go to recovery mode (press volume up and down and then press power button)....click reinstall packages (the second option is Samsung recovery)...u should be all set
Anyone tried using simple adb/holo backup to backup ur files pre root and restoring them after? I successfully backed the files up pre root but cannot get the prompt to restore again after I finished rooting. Tried changing default access to grant in SuperSu but nothing came up... any otherway to restore files without losing root
is there a backup tool similar to titanium backup to make backups of apps, but without the need for root? I need to make a backup before unlocking the bootloader from my Merlin.
thanks, guys

I would second Helium as a first choice... especially the Premium (paid) version, so you can backup to the cloud (my personal preference).
There is also Holo Backup for Windows and Linux, My Backup (Pro), CM Backup (stands for Cheetah Mobile, not CyanogenMod), Ultimate Backup, and others. Also, Titanium Backup can backup and restore apps without root.
Be aware that backing up apps is hit and miss, and some apps do not necessarily backup an app's data and settings without root... And restoring apps and data can be problematic in some cases
All in all, it is your choice, but I would recommend Helium Backup as well.
I want to ask why I can't Backup SuperSu App, I mean, I have it installed as an User App but I can't see it in Titanium Backup, It's like Titanium doesn't even detect that SuperSu is installed, and I really need to backup SuperSu's Data. Please, help me!!
Hi there
It is because super su is a system app now thus titanium can no longer detect nor back that up but you can still download a back up zip of any SuperSU version u wish

Yes, but I don't want to backup the apk, but just the data (The way I configured SuperSu)...

Why you want to backup SuperSU data
Hi guys,
I am looking to root my OnePlus3T however I want to make a backup of some apps and games. I checked out Helium however this didn't work for me, the app fails to backup saying that it cannot complete due to a device password (which I never entered).
Can anybody recommend any other solutions for app and app data backups?
Thanks
