So my idea is a touch based xbox 360 controller. Somewhat like gamekeyboard but with the xbox 360 layout and analog sticks. This would be great for apps like Onlive, since not all games have touch support.
I am not in anyway near capable of making this so i am hoping i am giving someone an idea
So what do you guys think?

The specific implementation that you describe would probably be quite difficult to do.
However, there is something similar, except you need a separate phone to use as the controller. See this vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CsJ_DGSPTXs&feature=player_embedded.
Or you could just get an Xperia Play
Would it be possible then to have something like gamekeyboard, wich maps the buttons on onlive correctly ( a.b.x.y,lb,rb and d-pad) to have an analogue stick?

Its possible to use this on the android platform but thinking about it has anyone created an easy snap on docking unit such that you can hold the controller with the phone attached? It can probably be made easily but I don't have those kinds of tools
never seen anything like that, in my apps snesoid, nesoid, gboid and so on. I use the keyboard most of the time.
aswz for the directional pad
klm? for the main buttons
op for the buttons if they have top L/R buttons like gba and snes
works fine for most. But when I am at home I crave fighting and more action type games, I break to the classic controller. Its far better then the usual wiimote but ofc u gotta connect two things ahha
boy I wish the g2 had an hdmi out...

I've seen it posted online somewhere. It was an android phone attached to wii classic remote, it looked pretty sweet. Once I find link ill post. Also someone attached a snes controller to their dell streak looks pretty sweet too. Just search dell streak snes controller

On a side note I just heard about the game gripper, it snaps on to the keyboard of your phone. The guy does not have one for the G2 yet, I put in a request you should check it out if you haven't already.

Good to know, I will try to get my hands on one before buying.
heres one on the nexus http://phandroid.com/2010/07/28/biz...h-up-controls-your-old-school-android-gaming/
one on the evo http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/htc-evo-4...om-evo-gaming-mount-wiimote-snes-nes-etc.html
one for the dell streak http://phandroid.com/2010/11/04/dell-streak-snes-controller-blissful-gaming-experience/
and here is the best one there is imo for the nexus and I would imagine it would fit other devices http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rxJq6tQVw8
They do look pretty cool, I thought I would be considered crazy . That said having something like this for emulation or native games which support it has got to be the coolest thing ever.

I would probably kill someone if i could get a hold of a plug snes controller for the g2...
until then classic controller is just gonna have to work out
I want to take my wii mote and stuff it in my classic controller. I hate haveint to have both to play games. As a side note i use the classic controller to play castlevaina for the ps1 with it
How is the progress with joystick app development for samsung galxy s?
Ps3 controller isn't availible on android
Wiimote Apps dont seem to work on galaxy s
Zeemote seems to work but it doesnt have enough buttons on it for ps1 are snes, etc.. emulation.
msi Bgp100 Don't know if this works on the galaxy s but still not enough buttons but the best out there for now.
Does anyone know new developments for joysticks for the galaxy s???
Check out Game Gripper.
Though none for Galaxy S yet with enough requests they may make one for it.
I think we'll never get gme gripper for the Galaxy S because of a little detail: it1s based on physical keyboards...
Keep an eye on this beauty

There is a semi-portable method I found using an app called WiFi Keyboard.

I say semi because you need a laptop or any computer that can interpret the buttons you press on the game pads to your phone. You'll also need a copy of XPadder or some joystick software on your computer for the gamepad. Now if you combine these with say a netbook or mini-pc and a wireless controller such as the wiimote, XBox 360 or PS3 wireless remotes, you can control the games anywhere you have access to your phone and computer. It works without lag unlike in his video, probably because his phone couldn't handle the emulator too well. Of course, if you already have a computer on hand, the question becomes, why don't you just play it on your computer?

haha yeah, game grippers are awesome though i had one for my nokia n900
I Know there are a lot of threads for Game Pad Controllers out there what i am wondering is if any of you have one that you use for the Inspire. I am looking to get one and while there is not much selection for android bluetooth game pads i want one to work with the emulators (FPse, N64oid, TigerNES, SNesoid, ect). So how about it any of you have any experience in this?
I have found out that you can use a Zeemote with android but i don't know if it works with inspire. i am looking for something more along the lines of a ps2/3 style setup in a controller cause that is very easy to hold for many hours on end.
UPDATE: I have purchased a zeemote to try will update when I receive and test it out.
UPDATE2: Have received said js1 joystick. Seems to work so far. Am going to fiddle with this and write a review!
MOD: I probably need to move this to the accessories threads now. Thanks!
WOOHOO!! it does work. I am using a Zeemote JS1 On the HTC Inspire 4g without Root. So far so good! I have used it with FPse, SNesoid and Tiger NES so far. Will test it out with the N64oid this afternoon! Using a free software that connects via bluetooth called Bluez IME software to connect. It was fairly simple just following the instructions. Will try and post videos when i get my hands on a camcorder.
Anyone heard of the one that uses the Wii controller?
Sent from my fast / stable HTC Inspire 4G
There are several that use Wii controller but if you have HTC.sense it won't work (ie stock Rom) HTC didn't include hid devices in their Bluetooth driver/stack. So unless you root you can't use a Wii controller. Not that I have found out. The guy that wrote the driver I mentioned above is working on getting Wii controller working with his driver. At that point it would be a great thing to have if u use your phone for games!

Some Chinese guy had remodified a PS1 controller which he is selling on Taobao (kinda like a Chinese ebay) for about 25 USD. I got myself one about a week ago and am working at the moment with the bluez-ime developer to get it working on Android. It works so far with FPse, which you can see on the crappy video that I just took. Maybe I should start exporting these controllers ;-)

Hi guys, I'm really interested in getting an emulator such as FPse, but I'm wondering if my xbox 360 will work with it. If not, will a bluetooth game controller do the job? Thanks for the help!
i never tried a xbox 360 controller but my ps3 controller works perfect with sixaxis controller

A wired Xbox 360 controller works pretty well with SuperGNES emulator, haven't tried it with FPSe yet.
I'm not sure if a wireless one would work though
If you're using the PS3 controller there's a new site that users can share and upload profiles for the best Android games. It's called Sixaxisofpower lol

I use usb joystick center. Works with most usb controllers, I use wii mote tho in wireless. It also has a touch to joystick addon that allows you to map button pushes to specific touch points on the screen. Its really phenomenal software. I play Max Payne and GTA3 with a wii classic controller pro plugged into a wii mote[gives you more buttons to map than Ps3 and XBOX controllers]. It does take some patience to learn the app, its customizable every way you can think of.

Oh awesome! This was the answer I was looking for Now I can live comfortably knowing that I can just use this app for my 360 controller. Didn't know this app existed. Thanks!

Notice anything missing? Mode B.
Moga is choosing to take total control of the market by making all their controllers require the Moga Enhanced API, which does not work with any other controller.
This is a departure from the Moga Pro which supports the Bluetooth HID standard in Mode B. The only benefit of the Moga Enhanced API is Gingerbread support, which no one who buys those controllers uses.
Let's face it, they are doing it to stamp out competition. I propose a full on boycott / blogger war on Moga.
The current alternatives are the the GameStop Red Samurai and The MadCatz C.T.R.L^r gamepad, both of which stick to the Bluetooth HID gamepad standard without any loss in functionallity.
Why is this the dark side? I think it's fair.

That's like saying that ASUS's keyboard docks are evil and wrong because they use a proprietary connection system... What you expect it to work with all tablets?!? Your complaint holds no water.

Thing is, moga currently makes an Open controller, the Moga Pro. No functionality is lost when you go on Standards mode. Games like ravensword and shiny are being forced to adopt moga's protocol because their cheapest controller only supports the proprietary connection. If you try an ouya controller, or a madcatz, or a gamestop controller, they wont work. killing competition.
Moga currently supports bluetooth HID mode on their moga pro... but they are phasing it out to make sure games wont work with other controllers.
Its more like Asus killing ascii support and requiring apps to support ASUS SDK, which does not work with other keyboards. Normally that would not work.... unless you have an overwhealming market share and the budget to price your controllers bellow cost. Like Moga does.
@jeffreygtab
The moga Pro does work with all tablets, in both modes. They are killing one mode, the one that competitors can use.
@neuropsychosis
So you would be perfectly fine if samsung started requiring apps to use the samsung sdk, and then cut support for apps that didn't. Eventually making most apps stop working on other phones. I just want competition to be based on how good the controller is, not which company was able to monopolize a proprietary connection first.
