Strange Accessory question (Wii Classic Control) - G2 and Desire Z Accessories

Its possible to use this on the android platform but thinking about it has anyone created an easy snap on docking unit such that you can hold the controller with the phone attached? It can probably be made easily but I don't have those kinds of tools

never seen anything like that, in my apps snesoid, nesoid, gboid and so on. I use the keyboard most of the time.
aswz for the directional pad
klm? for the main buttons
op for the buttons if they have top L/R buttons like gba and snes
works fine for most. But when I am at home I crave fighting and more action type games, I break to the classic controller. Its far better then the usual wiimote but ofc u gotta connect two things ahha
boy I wish the g2 had an hdmi out...

I've seen it posted online somewhere. It was an android phone attached to wii classic remote, it looked pretty sweet. Once I find link ill post. Also someone attached a snes controller to their dell streak looks pretty sweet too. Just search dell streak snes controller
Sent from my T-Mobile G2

On a side note I just heard about the game gripper, it snaps on to the keyboard of your phone. The guy does not have one for the G2 yet, I put in a request you should check it out if you haven't already.

Good to know, I will try to get my hands on one before buying.

heres one on the nexus http://phandroid.com/2010/07/28/biz...h-up-controls-your-old-school-android-gaming/
one on the evo http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/htc-evo-4...om-evo-gaming-mount-wiimote-snes-nes-etc.html
one for the dell streak http://phandroid.com/2010/11/04/dell-streak-snes-controller-blissful-gaming-experience/
and here is the best one there is imo for the nexus and I would imagine it would fit other devices http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rxJq6tQVw8

They do look pretty cool, I thought I would be considered crazy . That said having something like this for emulation or native games which support it has got to be the coolest thing ever.

Joysticks???

How is the progress with joystick app development for samsung galxy s?
Ps3 controller isn't availible on android
Wiimote Apps dont seem to work on galaxy s
Zeemote seems to work but it doesnt have enough buttons on it for ps1 are snes, etc.. emulation.
msi Bgp100 Don't know if this works on the galaxy s but still not enough buttons but the best out there for now.
Does anyone know new developments for joysticks for the galaxy s???
Check out Game Gripper.
Though none for Galaxy S yet with enough requests they may make one for it.
I think we'll never get gme gripper for the Galaxy S because of a little detail: it1s based on physical keyboards...
Keep an eye on this beauty
http://icontrolpad.com/
There is a semi-portable method I found using an app called WiFi Keyboard.
http://www.appbrain.com/app/wifi-keyboard/com.volosyukivan
http://code.google.com/p/wifikeyboard/
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04rlhOeq6d4
I say semi because you need a laptop or any computer that can interpret the buttons you press on the game pads to your phone. You'll also need a copy of XPadder or some joystick software on your computer for the gamepad. Now if you combine these with say a netbook or mini-pc and a wireless controller such as the wiimote, XBox 360 or PS3 wireless remotes, you can control the games anywhere you have access to your phone and computer. It works without lag unlike in his video, probably because his phone couldn't handle the emulator too well. Of course, if you already have a computer on hand, the question becomes, why don't you just play it on your computer?

Wireless Wii Classic Controller - some way to attach it??

Hello,
I'm being dead serious about this. I want a way to attach the Classic Controller (wireless datel) to the actual Galaxy S. I know for certain that there is no real attachment for this. But is there perhaps a combination of cases which could somehow be attached?
For example a clip on case for the GS, then a case for the classic controller. Then connect the 2 together.
Only serious replies please if any. It would make an awesome portable gaming device. Shame that the GS has no keyoard+game gripper.
Kris
your thinking something similar to this right?
the first problem you need to solve is how to connect the wii controller to sgs via bluetooth. it's a problem that still hasn't been resolved for any htc or newer samsung phone... tons of threads on this.
so really no point figuring out how to physically attach the wii controller to the sgs
Well I've seen a video of the classic controller working on the GS. Also they don't work in HTC sense phones due to the SenseUI (i so believe) so after rooted and they have a stock rom without sense I don't see why it wouldn't work out :O
Wiimotes don't work on stock sgs firmware
Incompatible bluetooth stack
They will work on cm7 however
Then I would go on CM7 i guess

Better not risk it though, if your phone gets bricked... Just all because you wanted to play those big memory space wii games on the galaxy s. And anyway, small screen, short battery life I don't think you will enjoy
Its not for playing wii games. Its for all the emulators. Even if i didn't use the wiimote I would still load it with CM7 (dont have one yet).
any progress?
this is something i would like to see for sure!
does the wireless one work on CM7 currently? even that is awesome

Ipad can do it, why not the transformer?

Ok the other day my friends came over with his ipad and his iphone and showed me how he could play mario 64 on his ipad and use his iphone as a controller. Now why can't we do that with an android tablet ( tf ) and a android phone (g2x)? If so anyone know how?
No need fpr such set up we can use a ps3 controller or xb controller . Way better qith phisical buttons than touch screen
Yeah but I don't wana carry around a ps3 or wii controller. I always have my phone. Its more convenient.

Feel free to go and develop software to do this - I don't think anyone is stopping you.
it was a good point and not a super complaint.. don't listen to the haters, but good luck finding a dev for it!
It shouldn't actually be too tough to do. I could see someone building an "EventAgent" app, that lets you draw buttons on the screen to use any layout you want (even superimpose it over an image of a controller, like some desktop apps). Combine that with orientation-sensor support, and then just figure out how to beam the controls to the tablet.
have you tried an app called blueputdroid I believe, Ill link in just a mo
https://market.android.com/details?id=berserker.android.apps.blueputdroid&feature=search_result
It requires root, but the ipadrequires root/jailbreak to even play emulators from what Ive heard, Ive tried it myself using fpse and a couple of the yongzh emulators and it works great, although no multitouch yet.
I would be interested in this as well.

These arguments fall upon the deaf ears of fanboys. It goes both ways. There are plenty of Android die-hards (myself included) who don't want to hear any arguments against the ecosystem they love.
The only rational arguments come from a usability or ideological standpoint. Here are two examples:
Ideological - I don't believe a manufacturer should have any control over what software I put on or what I do with my device. My device is a tool, which should conform to my needs, not the other way around.
Usability - I only use this device for these three tasks, and since the alternative does not have support/apps for these particular tasks I prefer them to the competition.
If you are rationally choosing your ecosystem, the only logical arguments fall under these two categories. Otherwise you're simply buying into a brand, and thus you can't make any logical arguments.

Yeah if you wanna measure penises, using a PS3 controller or Xbox 360 controller is much more impressive.
If your gonna use a touch screen, why not the built in one on the tablet? I use the on screen controls for flights and stuff. Guy next to me had a DSi playing Mario which died mid flight. I was grinding my party in FF7 for 3 hours. He was impressed.
What about HDMI out running FPse PSx and a PS3 gamepad... that impresses my peeps.

That's awesome Just played it with my transformer and Xperia
Any other games like this?!!

so i bought one of those GameStop Transformers preloaded with games..

How i transfer these games off so that i can add them to my Samsung Galaxy Tab? paid $299 for the Asus Transformer.
Root and then you can extract the apks.
yup it's rooted. how do i extract the apk's exactly? where are they located?
Get a root file explorer or even astro file explorer. Not exactly sure which folders you gotta look in. Time to snoop around your files to find them
If you use Astro, just use the Tools>Applications backup>choose the apps to backup and when done you can find it in the backup>app folder.
If using Root Explorer look in data/app for applications that is download from market or sideloaded
Astro makes ir real simple, no hunting for files... Easy peazy lemon squeezy

Curious about the tablets from GameStop. I ordered a transformer prime. Are they new? Or have they been opened in order to "pre load" the free games?
Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk
I'm really curious about their wireless gaming controllers. They said they can work with the tablets they sell. I asked if I bought a transformer new elsewhere if the controller would work with it. They told me it would work. The wireless controller is $99 if you buy it seperate. I think $40 if you buy it with the tablet. That is contract evils at it's best. I'm really jealous of the gamestop ones because they have dead space (can't find on android app store), sonic CD, and some others. But it's really the game controller support i am after. I love riptide GP but I think it would be SOOOO much better with the wireless controller. If I get a tranformer prime I might get it at gamestop.
I think gamestop is going in the right direction. I bet once they get their cloud gaming going there android tablets will have them.

FYI, This app is bar far the easiest way I have come across to grab an apk from one device for installation on another:

You just open the app, search for the apk you want by name or scroll through the list of apps, and then you can email it or dropbox it to yourself. Every once in a while there is an app that can't be located in /data/app. I am always able to extract the apk for those apps with Myappsharer.

It is just a Bluetooth controller. Thats how all wireless controllers work. And IMO, your best off to go with a Playstation DualShock3 controller and getting it to work with your tablet.
Every other controller I've owned pails compared to the responsiveness and quality of a good console controller. Perhaps their $99 controller is high quality too, but you can pick up a PS3 DS3 controller for $29 new. I picked up a white DS3 for $29 from Gamestop not too long ago. Beware they sell new and used controllers for the same price (I bought it new).
It really works fantastic. Honeycomb 3.2 has native support for gamepads, so most of the buttons work out of the box. I mostly use it for emulators with key mappings.
Perhaps someone with a Gamestop TF can provide a NVBackup of their stock rom.
I personally use the WiiRemote; cheap, fast and pain free. Most emulation I play works JUST FINE with it (the .emu series).
I do have a question for player911 though ...
I bought the Six Axis app and went through the rather grueling process of changing the blue tooth sync ID, etc.
Are you using the PS3 controller wired, via the Extension Kit? Or are you doing the whole routine like I am with the wireless? Or wired via the dock's USB?

find in /system/app/ then post here your files and see whether it is locked to that rom or it is universal.

Thank you I actually did realize this after posting. I thought, "Why not?" and I plugged my PS3 controller into the dock. It wasn't working even on as I was in Cordy. I figured, "Oh well I guess I need custom kernels or some kind of root app". I randomly decided to push and hold the home button a few times and I was making cordy jump and move. The first thing that came to my mind was "HOLY CRAP!". Well the edited word that came to my mind anyways...
I went to Riptide GP and found it wasn't working. I went to the dual control settings and I was able to control it with my PS3 controller. IT WAS AMAZING. Riptide GP is amazing by itself but with the controller holy crapy. I raised the graphics to maximum level and it looked like a Xbox (not 360) game. The graphics and effects are incredible and the precise control is unrivaled. I tried some other games though and they did not really work. I think that the Tegra 2 or Tablet Games work best. Any games that were just stretched on screen had almost no control support at all. I am not sure what other games support controllers but I want to find out. If they ever get Dead Space on Android (without buying it from gamestop) I hope that supports it as well.
...Well the controller is one thing. But I also really want Sonic CD. I love Sonic and I am still coming off of the high from Sonic Generations. Sonic CD is a game I never beat either but enjoyed playing it on a friends computer when I was younger. I think there are a few other games that the gamestop tablet comes with that are not on the android market. It actually seems like google removed ALOT of games and apps on the android market for the tablets and some it seems off the market in general. There is only two gameloft games on there for the tablet as well...
I wasn't really ever for gaming on android but now that I see how amazing it can work I am all for it. I'm all for a UMVC3 port on Android Tegra 3! I think there is a PS3 wireless app too that works on rooted androids. I am going to look into that soon. I was excited about the Wii-mote way but I am not crazy about the classic controller nunchuck wired shell. Love the design but not the wired aspect to the wii-mote. Yeah I agree I would love for someone to upload the apps that came on the gamestop tablet. I've already started looking but haven't found any online yet.

I recommend to anyone who has the tablet to back up the games using asus back up or whatever back up you use and putting it on your computer. I've already read a few stories of how some flashes caused the apps to disappear and they haven't found a way to recover them. I am not sure if google will back them up. The Asus Backup might. If all else fails try that app that someone posted the link to and put it on your computer for safe keeping. Using CMW and backing up the device might help as well.

This strikes me as interesting... If the games were preloaded, then presumably Asus would also need to supply customized versions of FOTA updates for GameStop customers. I'd be surprised if that were the case for a sunsetted, heavily-discounted product, though.

Just use mybackup or mybackup root. Backup all your apps, or just the ones you want to copy, then use the normal file explorer to go to rerware/backups/allappbackups/(todaysdate)/apps then copy the apks.

[Q] Game Controllers?

Anyone have advice on using a game controller with the phone? I'd really like to find something that has a clip to hold the phone while playing, too. Is bluetooth the way to go? Or just plugging in a USB controller?
If you have a PS3 controller laying around SixAxisPairTool is a great app. I've used it with my S3 & S5 to connect wired and wirelessly to my android phone. Not sure if its compatible with the S6 though. Other than that I dont have any knowledge of available gaming controllers.
You should be able to connect a ps4 controller without the need of the sixaxis pair app and all the buttons will be mapped. I'll try tonight when I get home.
What if I'm an Xbox person rather than a Playstation person?

I had the MOGA and absolutely hated it. I forgot the exact reason, I wanna say it was something with the bluetooth pairing and lack of support, but it was a year or two ago. All I know is I won't give it another try any time soon.
Good to know. Thanks for the feedback. None of these things seem to have great reviews.
The PS3 controller worked best for me, considering I already had one laying around, it cost me exactly $0.

I only did a quick skim of the reviews because I'm not going to buy one, but it looks like all of the negative reviews are on apple devices.
