Why isn't there a stable cm7 build yet? Or maybe there is and I'm just missing it.

focus is on CM9 I presume
i have a feeling its cause CM9 isnt far off. by not far off i mean within the next 3 months HOPEFULLY,
3 months is too long. I can't live without cm! It was out so quickly on the sgs2...

Once we get ICS either officially or ported, I m pretty sure CM9/MIUI will be around the corner!!!!!!
I just recently flashed cm7. It is actually very stable which I was not really expecting based on the alpha status.
Sent from my SGH-I727
It was out for the SGSII so quickly because it has the Exynos chip, like the international version which had already been out for 6 months. It was a much easier port than having to create CM7 from scratch.

i havennt seen any developing since eph1 is there something wrong with the rom that cant be modified just wondering?
Sent from my GtabComb using XDA Premium App
Its probably because there are almost no differences between epf1 just different radios
Correct. There aren't enough differences between EP1F and EP1H to justify a revamp. This, combined with many bugs on Gingerbread that isn't fully baked, makes for very slow go on GB development.

I'm not new to XDA by any means. My mom uses an Infuse. Has it been officially updated to Gingerbread yet? I've read Infuse forums for a bit an to me it appears it hasn't but I'd like to think I'm wrong. That phone I'd quite capable of Gingerbread and ICS.

Nope, not yet. But I'd say that they're close. The last leak was before Christmas and it was solid.
I heard that the Captivate got an official GB update the other day.
Ya..the same day it came out I flashed build 13 of CM9 which is built on 4.0.3. And honestly this is the fastest and smoothest my phone has ever ran. I've came across no bugs at all.

No. ICS is Googles Android OS. CM9 is a modded version of it.
ics simply refers to android version 4.0. Cm9 is based off of android 4.0 aosp but has many added features and tweaks.
Just like cm7 is based off of android 2.3 (gingerbread) aosp.

I think his question is really what is the difference between the two. Which right now I don't think there is much. I think it's just about porting and getting everything working. Maybe there is some small optimizations done but nothing heavy. I think cyanogenmod is working on adding features as we speak and will most likely release a big beta with all of them implemented vs small amounts being added over time

Well for the g2x there isn't much difference because both builds are still broken lol. I know on my galaxy nexus there is a big difference in cm9 and ics feature wise.

Probably the coolest one in the works is the ability to root and unroot your phone via settings. The new music app is nice too. There's a lot being added every week. Its not complete or even close to being but it is looking awesome.

So I suppose this might be getting a little off topic but what is the point being able to root/unroot via settings?

I'll prob use the OTA debloated/tweaked ICS build that is going to be developed regardless

Anybody know how CM9 development is going so far for the G2x?
Hey guys, I recently went into Verizon and played with the galaxy nexus. Its a nice phone, but what's so fantastic about ICS? I thought it was too dark, and really slow (at least the display model was). I've used sky-ics rom and I had to go back to StockMod.
So why exactly does everyone want it and ask about it? Personally I prefer touchwiz, its a lot more intuitive. The biggest difference I saw was the widgets displayed in the launched and the recent app tray thing. But its not like a game changer.
I don't mean to offend anyone, but just curious.

I think it's because everyone wants the latest and greatest. People are getting bored of Gingerbread.
Cause we can't have it. .....yet

I came to the SkyRocket from the Inspire recently and the last ROM I used on it was an ICS ROM. Chrome beta alone makes it well worth it not to mention its the latest and greatest and we can't have it!

sky-ics is still gingerbread.
the main reason i want ICS is that its a whole UI overhaul. it looks smooth and fancy. lol. i had ICS on my captivate and LOVED it. i cant wait to have ICS on my skyrocket
ICS is built for dual core.
ICS is amazing

ICS is great. I love it on my xoom. Chrome beta is also worthwhile, much better than the stock browser. Also lots of little things make me want ICS.
I mean why not, having gingerbread is to mainstream.

Touchwiz isn't a operating system buddy but a UI overlay by Samsung. HTC has sense and so on but both companies devices can have ics

and every official samsung ICS firmware will have touchwiz
Found this on HTC's side, it's being reported on Droid-life, as well:

They are claiming July-August for ICS. I'll believe it when I see it.
They did say earlier this year it would be near the end of q3 when they pushed the ota out. I would say if they are honestly trying to get the update out then it will be at the end of august or later. They almost always delay by 2 months usually.

I know there is no actual for this, but, is there an about time frame for leaks before they release official? I guess I mean, is it feasible to say that there may be a leak by the end of June? I know, purely speculation. But fun to guess.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
There is no way to know that because if we get a leak then we get a leak. The only way we can get a leak is if someone puts it out there for us.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
Awesome, only four months before I get a new phone lol....better late than never I suppose.....praying for leaks with working ril that's all the devs need!

Man, I disagree wholeheartedly. Stock ICS blows any of our roms out of the water...in power management and usability. Add in the features in, say, AOKP and wrap it up in Apex Launcher and it's pretty much the best mobile experience I can imagine.
If only that Nexus I had for a month got better reception...loved the software.
