Which ICS rom do you prefer? - HTC Sensation

I'm not totally sure yet as it isn't 100% yet

With sense - ARHD (for now!); Without sense - Virtuous Inquisition.. That's my opinion..
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio using xda premium

I've tried ARHD but the terrible battery life made me go to Virtuous Inquisition. Very stable.

What's the point of this thread?
It's like going to a bar and asking a bunch of guys which beer is the best. Hopefully you don't get punched in a face

Even so, there is a difference in quality when some are stable and others are still in Alpha.
I've always had minor problems with ARHD, performance hiccups and whatnot. Virtuous Inquisition, however, is stable and just feels lightning fast and smooth.

No one is perfect wait until official release if you don't want to be in trouble.

Insertcoin with SebestianFM 1.5 - Stable, fast, and plenty of battery life.

No Sense Virtuous Inquisition v3.0
Try some roms is really the only way to know whats best for U!

I think this thread could go that way: flash and post a review! Think of it like ROM tasting - have a sniff, a taste, spit it out, rinse and try the next one.
It's not always as simple as that, but I suspect that now that TripNRaVer released his beta ROM of the Cyanogenmod 9 source, for Sensation, that developers can be inspired to also source from CM9 and get some more ROMs out, based on CM9.
Has anyone here got it running and can compare it to the best on XDA?
I've waited this long. Just waiting until we have a CM9 ROM running properly, then will try a few of them.
CM9 for Sensation is a great leap for Sensation ROMs, IMHO.

Kristofpetho's HyperNonSense is excellent! I installed it on my gf's phone and it's super fast and stable. She prefers speed over beauty though, so that's always something to consider

I use virtuous inqusition. Its great. Virtuous quattro is eh.

For me i'd say: InsertCoin v4.4.6 - stable, performance wise (battery, etc), above par compared to other ROMs out there!.

Is that rom AOSP or built off sense?

My preference is Exactly same as yours....

I use ARHD 6.2.1 XE but I cannot connect wifi networks with enterprise security. So, ARHD is not so good!

InsertCoin 4.4.8. Amazing ROM: fast, snappy and nice mods.

I am using ARHD 6.2.1 xe........for me everything works fine....and battery Life is amazing too.......thanks Mike and Team....

Insertcoin 4.4.8 (and since the beginning...). In the past I vasilated(sp?) between it and ARHD.
I tend to stick with one dev though.

Best ROM

In my opinion Pyrimid3D is the best ROM going around, and Ive tried quite a few.
Get it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1206746
Be sure to vote for it if u like, and donations are always welcome.
it is really quick, but expect this thread to get closed almost immidiately, there are already a few of these around, and you didnt really explain your opinion
but to properly respond, my personal fav and daily driver is InsertCoin gb2.3.5, been using it since 1.x, and loving it ever since

Using Senseless Extreme3.1 as I got tired of Sense. Will use CM7 when it comes out.
No CM7 or MIUI till now Getting bored of Sense now I want MIUI!!!
Sorry for not going into detail.
Think the P3D ROM is great mainly because of the quickness, love the blue neon theme, and so many other things. Check out the features on the above link.
And sorry I'm a noon, but why would they close my thread?

Android Revolution HD 3.0.4 is the best ROM ever for htc Sensation
Super Fast
Super Smooth
Stable
Good Battery Life
I agree, at one is pretty cool. If I wasn't using P3D I would be using it.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using xda premium
just because there are several kinds of this thread already going, but i suppose its pertinant, considering how many new roms are available now, and how many ppl have posted so far
I prefer the stock look over any themed ROM. Especially on the P3D. That neon theme is a love it hate it type of thing. Me, I wanna have full control on what I want on my phone rather than habing it themed for me. Same as with the font used on the ROM. Anyways, I'm running the beta 2.3.5 by baad with faux kernel and it's really fast and smooth. Also, I've tried every other ROM on the sensation and so far the stock based, meaning the untouched but deodexed or odex are the fastest and smoothest.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using xda premium
I have tried most of the ROMs and ended up staying with Energy. It is close to stock but themed just enough to be perfect, and I have never had any problems with it. It gets the best battery life, it's very quick and stable, and best of all the dev is on top of it, any found bug will be fixed instantly.

That would be awesome. I'm really enjoying flashing between all these roms available. I don't think CM is the end all of roms but it definitely adds to the variety in a very good way. Nothing wrong with options.

My top 3 as of Today...

What was faster for you? CoreDroid or P3D? I'm on CoreDroid 2.3 right now and I love the theme, but I feel like it still isn't the quickest ROM and I'm getting in the mood to try a different ROM (CoreDroid has basically been the only ROM I've tried). If P3D is indeed faster I'll try it out since it has its own nice theme.
does the new faux kernel fix all the 3d and gaming issues?
I always go hack to eagleblood Rom.

Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using xda premium
well 'best' - Ill have to leave that to you ;-)
I'm now on ARHD 6.0.2 and ICS+ASOP mod to remove Sense and its a good experience...
That after quite some tinkering and fixing (clearing apps datas and multiple fix permissions for non-working or FC'ing apps)
ICS ROMS are clearly new and not trouble free yet - but if you follow instructions to the letter your upgrade should go smoothly and if you dont like you can go back to one of your backups
my two pence

Virtuous Inquisition is by far the best ICS and probably even general rom out for the Sensation right now, I've hahd ARHD 4&6 SEnsaY XE, Virtuous has given me the best battery life of any rom yet, it is very stable, and the only issue i've had is the wifi calling not working.
all this is just my opinion though
Thanks everyone!

I really liked Virtuous Quattro, it's in alpha now, but still very good. Unfortunately no UMS support is a deal-breaker for me, so I'll stick with CM7 for now. (But again, it's just my needs...)
I'm running InsertCoin ICS. Really digging it. Just upgraded to the new 3.24 firmware. It has a lot of the bloatware stripped out, but keeps the Sense lockscreen, launcher, and some widgets.
Like'n Virtuous Inquisition 2.1.0...very cool ICS rom!
Thanks everybody! Now used virtuous inquistion and quattro.... like inquistion if talking about how smooth and problem-less it works.
But the battery of inquistion is not that good... so quattro has got a better battery, in my opinion.
Btw now creating my own rom, blending functions from virtuous, megadroid and other roms to my AOSP based rom...
Let's see how that turns out...

Revolution HD: ICS vs. Sense and recent releases

I'm trying to avoid having to read through 50,000 posts because the ARHD thread has gotten a bit unweildy...
I'm currently running ARHD 3.6.5.
As you can tell it's been a while since updating and honestly I was waiting around for a stable ICS remix.
At any rate can anyone clue me in on where the scene is at? I see there's different versions of ICS available for ARHD; are they worth while, daily drivers or should I just update my sense ARHD to the current version?
mike1986 said that the current base used for 6.2.1 XE might be close to final. I'm using 6.2.1 XE as a daily driver, without issues.
If you flash this ROM make sure you also flash the correct firmware.
Thanks for the reply.
Did you install the 1.2 or 1.5Ghz version and/or is there a noticeable difference in performance AND battery life? I'm more interested in battery honestly. I'm not much of a power user and I don't stream or watch videos on this really.
Also, is a Super Wipe necessary?

Definitely if you're coming from Gingerbread.
Battery life on ICS sense is amazing for me compared to GB literaly get almost double the batterylife . It sucks though cuz I feel that sense 3.0 is way smoother and faster so I switched back till a new leak is released. Everyone says that sense 3.6 is faster and smoother than 3.0 though :/

First I would like to say hello. I'm coming from the mytouch 4g slide. I wanted a bigger screen and didn't like the side's keyboard. I have yet to root. I figured I could wait till the official ICS update but I remembered I really hate sense. Any suggestions on aosp roms?

Virtuous inquisition is senseless but once cm9 is out and stable switch to that. Its aosp and you will get the most out of your phone. Also flash a kernel that's 1.5 gigahertz like the Sebastian fm kernel. If you look on wikipedia the 4g sensation is under clocked. Same processor as the xe. Hope I hoped!

VI is about 99% aosp & has just a few Sense parts to make it work. It's fast, smooth, very stable, and very popular. If you wish to debate this, then contact it's great developer RMK40 & the Virtuous Team!

Again with the ROM comparisons, how many times do people have to be told - dont do it, it can be rude and offensive to chefs!
What might be best for someone might not be best for someone else, the only way to find out is to try.
ViperS for me so far, I found the overclocked 1.4.1 kernel made it even smoother!
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using xda app-developers app
All of them! Try some and report back...
ViperS for me too!
Even underclocked my SensationXE to 1,18 GHz, normal Sensation frequency. Rom is still very smooth, reacts very well and the battery life is great!
Obviouslly ViperSs 1.0.1
GO FOR IT....Everything's working Butter smooth, No any issue...
:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
I just flashed Viper for my first ROM. I am very pleased with it, but I am still waiting for the battery to settle down a little. Burning a little quicker than stock right now, but things should get better.
