[Q] Is it possible to have texting signature? - Motorola Triumph

I was just wondering if it is possible on any ROM or can you do it through CM7 by changing or adding something in the phone

that should be a phone setting, but if not the there's an app called text free in the market that will do that.

If you're using CM7, you can use this modified mms.apk on this post:
http://androidforums.com/triumph-al...e-cm7-out-app-just-like-miui.html#post3508593
Just flash the zip in cwm.

[Q] Replacing MMS.apk Question

I'm running Open Soju 0.2.5 on my Nexus S 4G, loving the ROM, but decided I liked the Messaging app from CM7 where it allows white on black, SMS splitting, etc. And since 0.2.5 is deodexed, I thought I would try moving the mms.apk included in CM7 over to my System > Apps folder on my phone..
Successfully moved over, installed and it runs great! Only problem is, every time I reboot my phone the original mms.apk seems to be installed, I have to go into root explorer and re-install the new mms.apk.. anyway to avoid it being replaced upon reboot?
Thanks

[Q] [q] actually some rom questions

ok so im a n00b- plz don't be mad at me... and to the point,
recently i upgraded my device with odin to gb 2.3.4
and some questions have popped out:
1. why did my data connection button dissapread in the power menu?
2. how do i change my battery indicator icon to actually see the precentage number i have?
3. can i backup settings ?
4. how can i remove some apps that came with the GB such as the music player/ tmobile sync app/ drivesmart etc.. (i have rooted)
5. ive seen this rom called icbinb and wondering what's the advatages it has, anyway couldn't understand how to install it,
what is voodoo that i should disable ? is there a guide for me ? (i was looking at the guides and couldnt find one that i could understand)
Voodoo is a lagfix thing.. Gets rid of all lag but gb already does that kinda. The mobile data was for froyo only.unless one of the devs put it on for you!
ICBINB is the tweaked version where its a bit smoother! You can also go to the themes and apps forum part and there should be a lil thread there.

Backup the settings but only advanced restore the data and you can remove apps with titanium backup or root explorer

To remove apps you don't want, AKA bloatware, I use "titanium backup" you can get it in the market. I suggest you back up everything first then start removing apps one by one, some apps your phone needs to function properly. Actually the paid version offers a "freeze" feature so you can test which apps you can remove safely first. Hope this helped a little

1. because its just not on the power menu in gb
2. try uot kitchen
3. dont really know
4. Use root explorer, go into /system/app/ find app you want to delete and delete it (titanium backup doesnt work that well for me so this is a sure fire way)
5. just all around smoother

1) I think that's only for Froyo. Nobody did that for GB yet, I believe.
2) Use UOT Kitchen. It's kinda confusing for me, so I never bothered trying...
3) Backup what settings? Your phone settings or your launcher settings? For your phone settings and launcher settings, you can do a backup in CWM. However, you can't do a full backup, because the system can't mount properly. There was someone who mentioned you can flash the Bali 3.3 kernel to create a backup, but I never tried it myself. If you only want to backup launcher settings, most of them have a backup and restore option. Keep in mind that you cannot perform an advanced restore of data from a Froyo ROM onto a GB ROM.
4) Use Titanium Backup to backup, remove, and restore apps.
5) ICBINB is pretty much the smoothest a ROM can get. It's got all the known tweaks built into the ROM, so you just flash and go. Voodoo is a lagfix that speeds up your phone by converting your /system, /data, and /cache to an ext4 file system (the regular is rfs). Having Voodoo fully enabled will make your ROM very fast and smooth. However, there are problems with getting Voodoo to work on GB ROMs, but there are fixes for it. You can search around the forum for that.

[Q] Stock fonts

I changed my font through Rom Toolbox, and now have lost my original stock font. Is anyone able to post the stock fonts? I mistakenly didn't do a back up inside of Rom Toolbox (mainly because I didn't know I could). Perhaps an easy fix would be if someone has Rom Toolbox and hasn't changed their fonts, they could make a backup and send me the back up file. I could then restore through Rom Toolbox. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!
Just choose stock in rom toolbox

Thanks for the reply. I tried that and thought it didn't look as crisp as it used to. Maybe my imagination?
Stock Font
It is not your imagination. I have the same problem on my Droid RAZR. The "stock" font in the Rom Tool Box is not as clear as the font that came with the device. Additionally, when I first enter Gmail, all the unread messages are bold (as they should be) and read message are not. If I change a message from read to unread ALL of the message become bold. Unlike you, I did do a backup. However, the resulting restore did not fix the font AND it failed during the restoration of the cache leave the internal storage in an unknown state forcing the formatting of internal storage...which wiped all apps that had been move to the SD.
hey i backed up my font but cant seem to find it any idea how i could and install it back

[Q] CWM GB Flash does not install theme

I'm trying to install: {rom}Cwm-GB-2.3.6-Octane-V3.0 XPLOD NO CIQ EDITION 12-10-11 now with power menu mod http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1305145
I am on 2.36, kernel 2.6.35.7-t959VUVKJ6-CL694130.
When I install the ROM from CWM no errors are shown. But, when the phone is turned Touchwiz is the default launcher and the phone looks nothing like the ICS screen in the ROM. The only things that look like the ROM are the battery icon, the appearance of the ringer volume menu when i hit a volume button, and the graphic display when I put the phone in sleep mode.
If anyone has a solution or link (i can't find anything on the forums) as to how to properly install the ROM it'd be greatly appreciated.
Octane v3 isnt themed. It will look like stock gb.
If you want a theme for it try racing's ics theme or my bluevtransparent theme from the themes and apps section

I use tehgyb's theme but the Contacts and MMS app often disappear if used together with Adrenaline tweak.
I just manually push those on the theme's zip into the rom's zip, except for contacts and MMS. Then it's fine.

Ive run into that before. Just try forceclosing your launcher and reloading it instead of reinstalling the apps, usually does the trick for me.
Its an issue from compiling the apps, i have a fix but no way to do it since my comps destroyed atm lol

How to install gingerbread stock camera or MIUI camera app on ICS stock ROM ?

Hello
Tried install both of these on stock ICS and checked "unknown source" , didn't allow me ...
Can I do it using CWMR ?
Thanks
im not sure if this will work but its worth a shot.
when youre in the rom that you want a system application from get the app called "system app backup" i believe cm made it but dont quote me. Then backup the app you want and save it to your sd card. after copy it to your computer and install the rom you want to have on your phone, once again install system app backup on your phone and recover the app you would like to have on your system.
the only thing that i have done close to this is replace the stock launcher.apk with "launcher 7".
always remember to backup, and if this works let me know!

You might have luck with the MIUI camera but the GB one is most likely a no go (all kinds of changes in ICS that should prevent GB system apps from working). If you really want to try it then you can use a file explorer with super user permissions (estrongs or root explorer come to mind) and move the .apk to /system/app and change the permissions to match other system apps.
Sorry to revive an old thread, but in case someone actually stumbles on it, here is the answer.. this should be easy. If you can get apktools working on your computer(google is your friend) you decompile the app you want, along with the app it would be in conflict with. The android system has a list of SYSTEM apps that are able to use the same features.. anyways, once you decompile both apks, copy the manifest.xml and meta-info folder(and contained folder) from the built in app(in this case the ICS camera) into the decompiled app you want to install(gingerbread camera), then you recompile the one you want to add(you can just leave the original app installed and delete the one you decompiled). Make sure you give the gingerbread app a different name, and it will work. Literally, I just tested it(it is that quick and easy once you have apktools setup), and it seems to install/work just fine.
Some FEATURES of the app might not work- like you may not be able to preview the pictures you take with it in the system gallery, but all the settings and whatnot of the actual camera app should be built into the apk itself-- besides 4.0.3+ has app associations, you may be able to use that to get some features working by making it your default camera..
Anyways, pretty sure that would help- good luck.
