Hi,
I flashed ics from team eos and I had problems using 3g.
I tryed the push (from previous rom with 3g working properly) and pull the settings for the 3g (I think) no way, wasn't working.
After I saw a post saying that he solved deleting this line:
umts.apn_authentication.enable=ALL
This in /system/build.pro
Wow it's working.
Well, I just would like to know if any one can tell me what that line means.
Anither thing is where (directory) are the apn saved.
Thnks

...
all goinig well but there is no 3g connection at all...the phone keeps on rebooting when i turn on 3g....and 2g is incredibly slow!!!!!!!!!!
I hvnt s off 'ed my wf but hv rooted it successfully..I'd like to know if s off is needed for radio flash...pl help me
How should I s-off my rooted wf??
Hello, i solved this issue.. I was on the radio 3.35.20.10 which is the newest. I flashed the latest rc1 cm7.2. Yes (3g and H) mobile network works flawlessly.. changing a few type of internet build prop values of cm7.2 will lead to rebooting when turning on mobile data
I won't be of any help but I have the same problem: I can't remember when I have noticed it the first time - my Wildfire keeps on rebooting if I switch to 3G.
Initially I thought that one of the different modes (2g/3g only, 2g or 3g etc.) would cause the problem but I have tried everything without any success.
If I find the time I'll probably try a newer nightly to see if this will help.
AFAIK I'm on the newest radio (flashed it a while back due to the well known radio problem).
Anyone with a helpful hint?

Hm, I'm not sure about your solution - could you be a bit more specific? I've already done a lot of things to get rid of the problem - including flashing newer versions of CM7 - currently I'm on the 20120420 nightly. Release date for the newest RC1 is 20120314 if I'm correct - so it looks that this didn't solve my problem.
Furthermore I flashed the radio again (inspired by this thread) - without any help regarding the bootloops. I'm really close to do an RUU update - but I usually rely on good old traditional computer wisdom: "never change a running system" XD
If someone with a bit more understanding of the changes in build.prop could give hints what (which values) exactly could be the reason for the problem this would be really helpful.
Hi,
I recently decided to flash a jeallybean ROM since most of them are getting really great and we don't have any word on the official update. Unfortunatly, I'm now unable to get a data connection on my HOX. It's the rogers version which I unlocked and I'm now using on the Bell network. Before flashing, LTE worked fine with the stock sense ROM, but now I don't have any data at all.
ROMs I've tried :
AOKP, MIUI and CM10.
I've tried to : set the data connection to GSM only, nothing, to LTE only, nothing, to WCDMA only, nothing. I've tried all the APNs I've found (pda.bell.ca, pda2.bell.ca, inet.bell.ca). On AOKP it sometimes said "Error while searching for network". WiFi, texts and calls work fine.
If anyone could help me, it would be really appreaciated. Otherwise I'll just revert to Rogers ROM. Thanks alot!
I cant offer any help, but I'm having a similar issue recently. I was on a nightly build of CM10 (from 10/06/12 I believe). I upgraded to a newer build (from 10/10) and I get no data over cell. I flashed it back and things were fine.

Before flashing jelly bean roms you need to flash a sense rom then do full wipe and install cm10 or aokp..

I have the exact same problem with my SGS using the X-bean 3.0 rom.
What's the best solution? Is it because I used to Cwm?

Every device has its own nuances, as do various ROMs. So I'd advise posting this in the forum specific to your device.
Still no data connection.
I am having the same issue with my AT&T One X phone.
The phone was running 2.20 before it was unlocked/rooted. Installed TWRP, was a noob and forgot to save a backup, fastbooted the boot.img, flashed AOKP and CM10 successfully. With both of these ROMs, I could not get internet to work via cellular connection. I have tried everything with the APNs (even had AT&T help me setup APN settings) and still no mobile data connection. I can still receive/send SMS/calls, use bluetooth and wifi, just no mobile internet.
I'm not entirely sure what to do next. I attempted to go back and flash the UrDroid 4.1 Stock Sense ROM, but after fastbooting it's boot.img and attempting to flash with TWRP, I got a signature verification failure. Got scared and restored back to AOKP (I remember to make a backup this time.)
Thoughts? Sorry for being a noob.
Are you in an LTE area?

I am in a "4G" area (HSPA+) but I am also a hour drive away from LTE. I have tried APNs for both, but AT&T recommended I stick to the LTE APN. AT&T had me go to Settings->More->Mobile Networks->Network Operators and the phone just sat there searching without finding anything. I just did that above operation again and it found AT&T and I selected it. It spins on "Registering on AT&T..." for a few minutes and eventually errors out "Cannot register on this network at this time."
Have you tried switching off LTE by selecting "GSM/WCDMA Auto" in Settings?
I've had data problems on certain ROMs, where turning off LTE got the HSPA+ connection working.
In that case, it was probably a base of build.prop not playing well with AT&T's network. Although I would think the ROMs you mentioned would have these issues worked out at this point (and for some time now).

When I switch to "GSM/WCDMA Auto", it immediately switches itself back to the LTE setting. This is concerning.
I have been using an ICS ROM (PrimoS v4.1) on my Desire S for some time with no problems, but recently have tried flashing a number of JB ROMs (e.g Andromadus, CM10 and JellyTime). I have found that when using any of these JB ROM's, I am unable to get a data connection and the APN list is blank. Despite many attempts to add APNs manually or by use of APN backup apps, I have failed to add an APN to the list.
Do I need to update the radio to solve this problem? I never did this when going from original HTC Gingerbread to the ICS ROM.
Please excuse the ignorance on this subject. I've read somewhere that there is a danger of bricking the phone when flashing radios, hence my reluctance to try without good reason!
I live in the UK and use Virgin Mobile.
Current radio is: 20.281.30.085AU_3805.06.02.03_M
All help appreciated - I've had a tantalising glimpse of the wonders of Jelly Bean and I'm desperate to get my data connection working!
TIA
I can't say whether changing radios will fix your problem. I use Radio 20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.04 on CM10 and have no problems.

Thanks for the reply BillGoss.
I took the plunge and updated my Radio to 20.4801.30.0822U_3822.10.08.04 with no problems. My phone continues to work fine with the PrimoS (ICS) ROM, but when I flashed JellyTime, still no APN's and I was unable to create one, hence I can't connect to the 3G network. D'oh!
Correct me if I'm wrong but with ICS you don't have the probelm and with JB you have the problem
that you have no and can not set the APN values, Q, dit you have a clean ROM installed.
I had this problem once when I tested a ICS version with sence 4. Later when I installed a CM10 version
I had no APN so I did a factory reset an de problem was gone. To be sure I wiped al the data on my device
and restored a earlyer nandroid backup. Later I tested a lote of ROMS but so far I don't have the APN issue yet.

Yes HypnoCondor, I always do a full wipe before flashing the ROM. I've now done a ot of Googling and trawling XDA threads and have found that the issue seems to be confined to CyanogenMod-based ROMS, not specifically CM10 and covering a lot of different phones. I'm not techie enough to fully understand, but it seems that CM is not registering the SIM card properly and hence the APN list is always blank and can't be edited/saved manually.
What's particualrly confusing is that I recently flashed the CM10-based CyanogenMod 10 Beta Builds [4.1.2][ANDROMADUS 3.x][Frontcam] ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1776256) and much to my surprise it worked! My APN list was populated and all was fine. Unfortunately , after rebooting the phone, the APN's were gone and I've been unable to get them back, despite trying every trick in the book gleaned from XDA users with similar problems.
This is very frustrating, because I really love this ROM
Looks like I'll end up going back to the PrimoS (non-CM, ICS) ROM so that I can get my data connection back when I'm away from WiFi. That's a real bummer, but I'm damned if I've been able to find a fix for this issue.
Just for future reference: being unable to set APN has nothing to do with radio and has everything to do with the ROM you're using. But you've already found that out yourself.

Thanks Jack_R1. My final plan is to try replacing the SIM card - should receive it in a couple of days.

Phosbrom I'm on Virgin and the JellyBean roms you mentioned work great on our service. I'm sure you'll enjoy using them when your new sim arrives :good:
Hoping someone can help here.
I have a TF101G (the 3G version of TF101). ASUS stock ROM works fine apart from the usual annoying problems with reboots and hangs. So I've tried a few custom 3G ROMs and Kernels.
Revolver (latest 3G) installs OK, but 3G doesn't connect - no APNs and can't add any, Search Network Operators fails with an error and Settings / About Tablet shows Baseband as Unknown. RaymanFX's new [DEV][WiP][3G/GSM] JellyBean for the TF101G - same deal. Everything seems to work except 3G.
Android Revolution HD 3.4.3 3G works fine which is great, but I'd like to try some others.
When I flash Stock or ARHD, on first boot it goes into setup with my location correctly preset to New Zealand. Neither Revolver nor JB seem to know where I am, and I'm wondering whether this has anything to do with the 3G not working.
I'm new to this, and to this forum so don't yet really know what I'm doing or have enough posts to be allowed to post in the Developer's area, so I'm hoping someone here might be able to point me in the right direction to get 3G working on either of these ROMs.
Thanks.

My XT926 does everything it should do except send SMS messages
I'm currently running cm10.1.3-rc2-xt907, though it's not worked with any of the previous CM releases or Xenon that I've installed. It did originally work on stock but I don't want to go back there!
I'm using it in the UK.
I've tried differant roms. I've flashed the GSM fix, I've tried Handcent, Go SMS Pro, but nothing works.
Can anybody help??

Yup, I have exactly the same problem. The original stock ROM did work, but since flashing a new ROM, I tried all the SMS programs, I tried changing my SMSC in the phone options -*#*#4636#*#* to be correct for my provider, didn't help at all.

Why are you running a ROM for the XT907 on the XT926? The XT907 is pretty close so it probably will work, but if you flash the correct ROM SMS should work fine.
Cyanogenmod ROMs for the XT926 are: http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?type=stable&device=xt926
For what it's worth, I am running 10.1.3 stable on mine, and I have used it on a GSM network (TMobile) without any issues with SMS sending. Make sure you have the correct APNs and edit build.prop to comment out the LTEv7CDMA line (something like that, near the bottom). That should be all you have to do.
EDIT: The 10.2 ROMs have problems with SMS, see the development forum for more info. But according to your post you are using 10.1

I originally installed the cm10.1.3 stable for XT926 but at the time I wasn't receiving data or able to send sms. I flashed the gsm fix found on this forum and at that point it seemed to change to xt907.
Anyway I've followed your suggestion, reflashed 10.1.3, put false against LTEv7CDMA in build.prop and rebooted. Entered the APN as per the suppliers website and still nothing.
Still no sending sms and this time no data (which I had with the gsm fix). Calls and incoming sms work fine.
I don't want to give up with my phone, any other suggestions?

Are these dirty flashes or clean flashes? What is the network mode set to under Settings --> More --> Mobile Networks?
Also, the line you needed to # out was telephony.rilV7NeedCDMALTEPhone, is that the one you added a # in front to (or set to false)?
Edit: Can you link the GSM fix you flashed previously? I've never seen that for the 926 on 10.1.3 -- the only fixes I can find are for the 925 or 10.2?
