Anyone know of a way to get SMS vibrations to occur more than once, so like it will vibrate two or three times when I get a text instead of just once?

Use handcent...it allows you to customize vibration length and pattern

Whenever I get a sms message and the quick reply icon pops up the "droid" tone goes off 3x in a row for only one text.

That's probably your messages tone plus hancent tone. Turn of the tones

I went into messenger and turned off through notification tone, now I get the sound twice instead of once. Anymore tips on where this extra tone is coming from?

Might check if you are getting send notifications
Send notifications? What's that? Where is that?

Had the same issue. Sent notifications are when you atte notified when the message is received by the person you sent it to.

Still can't figure it out, it goes off twice now but I cannot figure out why. I only have stock messenger and handscent installed.

Are you sure you don't have anything like SMS Popup, chompSMS, etc? You may have to just start randomly turning off Handcent features until you figure out what's causing the issue, assuming there really aren't any other apps installed.
Hey it's most likely the beautiful widgets pack 2. The sms one sends it. Just uninstall our disable it

speaking of handcent, has anyone experienced handcent re-sending old messages out after rebooting?
Is their a way to make the screen lit up when you receive a txt message or another notifications?

I assume that this is the way the Sensation or HTC phones are? The screen does not turn on when receiving an SMS when using the native app?
Any apps that I could use to make the screen turn on when I receive an SMS apart from switching messaging apps?
P.S.: Has a solution for the 5 minute LED notification been found?
Thanks so much.

But then what pops up is SMS popup's app right? I just want the screen to turn on as I turn it on usually and see the message on the lockscreen...
I'm sure there's an app for that, but usually when I use it, the popup is gone and the screen will be on and the message In the lockscreen.

So I have my phone on silent the majority of the time. Now recently for some reason my phone stopped vibrating for texts and any other notifications completely. I can't even get the timer in the inbuilt clock app to vibrate.
The motor or whatever vibrates the phone is working because my phone vibrates when I go to adjust the vibration settings. But it doesn't vibrate for notifications.
For text messages idk what rom your on but go to settings in messaging and find the vibration settings

What Rom are you using?

Ya may need to go into the messaging and email app settings and change the vibration settings there.
Next time you may want to post this in q&a section as well. I can hear the trolls coming out from under the bridge already. Just a heads up
Edit: I may want to realize which thread I'm in! Lol. Sorry, but the settings piece still applies.

I'm on CM9 and my notifications were not vibrating either. I went into system>sound>silent mode then chose vibrate. I also went into the settings of text messages under vibrate and chose "only on silent". See if any of that helps.

I dont have any vibration settings in the default text message app. Samsung's clock timer isn't vibrating on silent like it used to, I messed around with the sound settings as well and nothing changed.
I had this problem yesterday. I wasn't getting any notification for text messages. I would see them only when I turned the phone on and looked at the screen. Turns out I was playing around with the CM9 profiles settings, and had it in night time profile, which by default sets the vibration and volume to 0. You can either change the settings of that profile, or just set it back to default profile.
Having said that, it is kind of handy being able to disable notifications during certain hours...
I can't for the life of me figure out why, but, my phone isn't notifying me (making a chime, or lighting up the screen) when I receive a SMS. Even if I'm using the phone I won't get a notification (meaning nothing happens in the status bar) but if I scroll across my hangouts icon I can obviously see I have new unread messages (Tesla unread plug-in). It doesn't seem to do this ALL the time, just most of the time. I've tried switching SMS clients and the same thing happens.
Any ideas?

I've had that happen before, usually the stock message app is interfering.
