[Stock][ROM][Odin] Galaxy Y S5360 flashable firmware packages - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 Android Development

READ FAQ, Q&A and Know Issues before downloading and using this packs
TESTED and WORKING ODIN FLASHABLE BUNDLES for Samsung Galaxy Y
Preface:
Since Galaxy Y has been released, there are several firmware files available from different sources, eg. sammobile and etc... But most of these firmware packages (which are original unmodified Kies files) are useless for us, because Odin is not able to flash these files.
Therefore I started to analyze the Kies pack, and finally developed a method to convert the Kies files to Odin-able package.
The full conversion process of one pack took me about 2-3 hours including download, analyze, rebuild, test, upload, and finally post. So please keep in mind, I'm not just a redistributor of the firmware files, I've real work in it. Your thanks (button) and donations are very welcome, if my work helps you anyway.
In case Your work based in my rebuilt bundles, crediting me is expected. Stealing my work is unforgivable.

Depending on your interest (and my spare time), I'll build additional versions...
In case You have a specific request, please post your full version info from dialer *#1234# (if you're on your original ROM) and PCODE from *2767*4387264636# !
My recommendation to record above info when you're on your original ROM, before experimenting any other versions!
Please read post #2 and #3 for flashing guide and FAQ!
<<< Please use the thanks button if you find it useful! >>>

Odin flash guide...
Before You proceed: take a notice, and record your original (in case you are on original stock fw) firmware levels by typing *#1234# and PCODE by *2767*4387264636#. This might be helpful if you want to go back to your original in-box firmware.
Check WHITE-CZ's video tutorial on the boot mode selection, and Odin flash!

- select reboot system nowWhen Android boots up, it's highly recommended to set your CSC via the dialer *#272*_your_imei_# (to see IMEI type *#06# in dialer) -> (it will erase all your data on the phone, but not the SD card)
Known Issues
- DDLA3 :minor CSC file corruption. may cause boot loop after flashing via Odin -> CSC corrected -> full pack replaced
- DXLA1 : 1 report (of 150+ download) on unrecoverable boot loop after flashing - reason unknown
- as of 10th of April I made some changes in the firmware pack: files are md5 secured and update packs are wipe versions. It means you suffer "factory reset" by flashing new firmware, but this way there is minimal occurrence of boot loop after a flash.

FAQ
F.A.Q.
Q: I'm requesting x or y provider/country's ROM version to restore my phone's original state
A: In case You have a specific request, please post your PCODE from *2767*4387264636# and full version info from dialer *#1234# of your original ROM version. If you don't have this (already left original ROM) , then ask someone who has the same device with same provider/country! Check availability on http://fus.nanzen.se If you're smart enough, you can download the FUS file, then convert it by SplitFUS2.
If converting is difficult to you, then post it here or PM me.
Withoout PCODE and full HIDSWVER I can't help you!
plan B for finding original HIDSWVER
If you have Kies installed, and connected your phone with the original firmware, you have good chance to find it in Windows registry:
Start regedit.exe and check under the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Samsung\Kies\DeviceDB...
there should be some numbered sub-keys, eg 1, 2, 3, etc...
Under the numbered keys, look for "HIDSWVER" It has the following format:
I9100XWKI4/I9100OXXKI2/I9100XXKI1/I9100XWKI4
Notice the ProductCode key at the same page, it's useful to search for FUS packages at http://fus.nanzen.se
Q: Flashing any firmware to my phone will erase the network lock?
A: NO. The network (or SIM) lock still remain active. By flashing firmware you can't deactivate the lock. It's stored elsewhere.
Q: Flashing an operator specific firmware will restrict my open phone to that operator's network?
A: NO. Your phone still remain open for any SIM. Operator specific builds usually containing "only" bloatwares, wallpapers and/or browser settings, etc...
Q: Is it possible to update the PDA or MODEM only
A: Yes, You can update any one component independently if you have a good reason for, but remember: recommended to have consistent components
Q: Where is the bootloader tar and pit file?
A: those are not used for a Kies like update. You can find totoro*.pit and bootloader in other S5360 firmware bundles, and use if you really need it, but not necessarily needed for flashing
Q: Do I need to tick repartition?
A: NO! Leave all check-boxes as default!
Q: Really??? Do not tick repartition?
A: REALLY, I told You! Leave it unticked!!! ...And leave bootloader empty as well! COPY THAT?!?!?!
Q: Will Odin increase my custom bin counter flashing these packs?
A: No. Custom bin counter increased in case, when you flash non-stock firmware. Bundles provided here are all stock files.
Q: Wipe vs Non wipe packs?
A: Wipe pack has been build including an empty userdata partition, that way flashing a wipe pack will erase your user data.
Usually wipe packs has less issues after flashing, that way as of 10th of April I've decided to post here wipe packs only.
Q: I've got no issues in the past with non wipe packs. I want to flash new firmwares by having my data untouched. Can I modify wipe pack to non wipe pack?
A: Yes: Rename PDA*.tar.md5 to *.tar, then remove the userdata.img file! Don't forget to backup, because non wipe packs sometimes leads you to boot loop, and the solution is wipe data/cache.

wow! quite an achievement! excellent job, man !
Too bad, that Kies only flashes the SGY a single time, until the next update. so one can't research Kies a lot during flash updates. And there seems to be no way to force the SGY into a pristine state, so Kies would update it again.

Yes, you're right, ... but...
There are country specific CSC codes, and there are provider specific CSCs as well .
For example, my country code is XEH, which CSC contains all the providers in the country. (I suppose) these country wide CSC's does not contains provider specific bloatwares, only basic parameters like voicemail number, APN, browser homepage etc... "Rebranding" requires provider specific CSC like PAN or VDH in my case.

Well, You're talking about firmware region codes, I'm talking about CSC's.
Regional code determines, which languages supported by the firmware build itself.
CSC determines, which provider's base settings are predefined (and provider specific other things included)
But I'm affraid, we're going offtopic... If you have any specific (language or provider) request, please let me know, and I'll build it for You!
(I've corrected "region" to "brand" in the OP ;-)

Odin v1.85 and v1.84 do work with our SGYs.
my best guess is, other versions of ODIN do not work. (I tried 2.42 or so)
what would be the result of repartitioning and including the .pit file ?
would it brick the SGY ? the readme file speaks of possible missing files.

rebranding typically adds useless bloatware, that we need to get rid of. (such as wallpapers with stupid company logos and crap)

The main purpose of rebranding, to let providers set up automatically some carrier specific parameters such as voicemail, SMS center phone numbers, 3G Access Point Names (APNs) etc...
While Android is much more customizable, rebranding likely used by providers, to add their own wallpapers, icons, applications etc...
So rebranding may be skipped, but in case you might need to set up some carrier specific parameters manually.

FAQ:
Q. What is this ODIN?
A. Odin or Odin Communicator is a firmware flashing tool for Samsung Phones. Odin Communicator is the same tool that service centers use to fix your phone.
Q. Dude, I got a rooted phone with the best Custom ROM out there and it just rocks. Why the hell do I need these Stock ROM's and ODIN?
A. Stock ROM's and ODIN are your best friends during BootLoops and Soft Bricks. As a xda-developer's user you are bound to try different tweaks and mods on your device. Many a times you do something wrong in the process and hit a BootLoop. Flashing a Stock ROM via ODIN is the best way to revive your phone from the BootLoop:good:. Apart from this flashing a Stock ROM before taking your device to the SSC allows you to claim warranty.Q. In ROM description I saw 3 terms : PDA, CSC and MODEM. What are these?
A. Samsung Stock ROM's come as Kies FUS packages (*.tar.md5 files) that can be split into 3 parts.
PDA/Base Firmware: This is the ROM file a.k.a the Android OS. It contains system apps, default wallpapers and sounds , Android UI and the entire Android Framework. The Official Release version of your Stock ROM is named after this file.
CSC: This is the Country Sales Code file. It contains carrier related files, like carrier specific wallpapers and sounds and bloatwares that we hate the most(Sometimes also called a Customer Specific Customization). CSC includes connection data for the broadband networks & is also responsible for the update you get from Kies.
MODEM/PHONE/BASEBAND: This is the firmware of the wireless chipset of the device and will operate your WiFi, Blutooth and 3G/2G/GSM connections. (ie Radio ROM). Short and Sweet!
Q. OK. But how do I split the downloaded FUS file (*.tar.md5 package) into its component PDA, CSC and MODEM?
A. Thnx to xda RC Doky73:good: we now have a tool that automates this process for us! Its called SplitFUS2!
For Download, Usage and Information visit this thread.. Don't forget to thank him.
Warning: These files are only for Developers to play with! DO NOT flash these via ODIN!Q. Will my Custom Bin Counter increase by flashing these packs via ODIN? a.k.a Will I get the infamous 'Yellow Triangle' at boot?
A. No. Custom Bin Counter increases only when you flash non-stock firmware via ODIN. Bundles provided here are all stock files. Q. How can I extract the Stock Kernel from the Stock Firmware?
A. Rename the downloaded *.tar.md5 file to *.tar. Open it with any zip utility. Inside you'll find many files, one of them is boot.img which is nothing but your Stock Kernel!
Press Thanks If This Helped!
Any suggestions, contributions are welcome. I'll update the OP as soon as I can!
Thanks for taking the initiative for this.

I agree. A very worthwhile addition to the already impressive collection of works here. Hence the 'Sticky'!
Hope you don't mind the re-title, I'm just toying with a few things to see if we can make it a bit easier/more logical to find stuff!

One Question.
Can I use my Indian Cache.img from GB in ICS ROM?
This way does it increase space in /system/app?
It was possible for GB, so I thought it should work. Can you tell me if it does?

I don't think packages like cache from GB would work with ICS. It would have been possible had you been doing that with 2 Gingerbread ROM's.
Cache.img along with Hidden.img(only in case of carrier branded ROM's) constitute the CSC which contains the carrier bloatware apps if it is branded(eg. XWLA4 or XXLQ7). So a different cache.img which is unbranded(eg ODDKH4) will not have these bloatware apps. So that would probably save space on /system partition if I'm not wrong.
But yes, the way you're trying to do it, I don't think it would work. We are talking about 2 different versions of the OS here. So there's going to be a difference in the way the rest of the system interacts with the CSC in terms of command protocols!
Was wondering it wouldnt be possible..
Change in baseband too.
But, When we are/were using the Leaked build, our Baseband didnt change did it? In that case It should porbably work with baseband of GB?
Would you agree?
You can try this tool. It creates a CWM flashable zip file out of any cache.img file. So u could create one for the Indian cache.img and flash it through CWM over the Stock ICS XXLQ7 or XXLQ9. If it works, stick to it, else you could restore a previous nand backup or reflash the Stock ICS!
OT: Why are u actually trying to do this? To save space on /system partition or bcoz u want the Indian CSC?
Because I Want Indian CSC. But,it rarely matters.. I Am gonna flash LQ9 today.
Just that, there are no Deodexed Roms based on this..
Frankenstein Mod + Ardatdat kernel is good, but drains my battery alot.
Droidster.. amazing work man..
Small request: you have explained beautifully the cache image in post #16. can you pin the content to the FAQ section as a note ..
Thanks once again.. keep up the super work.. very informative..

no it doesn't ..exynos will not support 4k recording
This update (KITKAT)will break the external sd on all but stock and some google apps.
Here is a link on how to fix.
Note: Requires Root
-This is for the GS4 not the note 3, so READ through it! some/most of it applies to the note3.
-This Fix will not fix all the apps that have problems. Although it has fixed all the apps I use, I have tested some it doesn't work with. For those apps, you are going to have to wait for compatability updates.

[FIX][LEAKED 4.4]External Sdcard Mount Perms fix
EDIT: At this point of time quite a few apps have been updated. So many in fact that you may not even notice the new changes. If there is still a few apps your having dramas with, and you want to stay 0x0 (un-rooted), you could give this a go.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using xda app-developers app
result of flashing
I just flashed the N900XXUDNA6_N900SERDNA6_N900XXUDNA1_HOME.tar.md5 through Odin v3.09 (4.4.2).
My previous ROM was CRISKELO V5.
I just connected in Download mode the phone to the PC. and from Odin I flashed.
After restart, the phone updated the apps, and started everything.
Now I'm waiting for CF Auto Root and CWM to be able to use standard apps like Greenify...
I see the files on my SD card but cannot make copy/delete operations with the files... - after rooting I'll apply the recommended patch
ADD: Camera is able to keep photos on external SD card. and Galery was able to delete the photo from this SD card...
USAGE: I use all the apps which do not require root. they work smoothly. no issues so far.
As well Gear SW is working fine.
I'll update in case of any issues

What about the option to switch to ART in developer settings? The N9005 Poland rom didn't have that AFAIK.
Sent from Pluto
KitKat N900 XXUDNA6 vs N9005 XXUENA6
If we compare the files inside Rom's we see the Bootloader from N900 sboot.bin like on Note 2 N7100 (Now 4.3 and Knox).
Very different.
See attach's:
can some one provide a deodexed version of the rom?
One thing I noticed - The shortcut to enable torch by long pressing the Volume Up button seems to be gone. Creating a shortcut to that activity using quickshortcutmaker works, but when you tap that, it just crashes.
Also, no option to enable ART.
Lockscreen options to change to unlock effect and ink colour aren't enabled and are grayed out.
no hmp and core migration

Not too worried about HMP really. Just want the other bugs ironed out.
finally everything is working
finally everything is fine:
steps I did (before I had CRISKELO rom v5 ML1):
Flashed through Odin v 3.09 the 1 file.
then flashed the TWRP
then installed Super SU 1.91 zip from TWRP
Stock ROM is OK, Root is OK - all apps installed before are working properly.
only one issue was - access to SD card.
then this I solved too thanks to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2607215
Result: I have 4.4.2 stock, with Root, with all apps working, and with access to SD card.
the ROM is fast, smooth.

Once you update bootloader and restart the phone it will then only show xeo the current csc of the rom unless it was changed.
So just don't update bootloader i always update bootloader to latest & not change csc my csc always BTU

Hello sir! You can write firmware to your G955F/FD with odin ant the 4files firmware, but you need to be careful to select HOME_CSC, and your CSC Region will not change, and the phone will not wipe internal memory or your data!
Here is the tutorial:
Galaxy S8 Plus G955F SBA Firmware is here.
It's the official stock Android Pie.
This is the German Firmware. Can be flashed on any Galaxy S8 Plus with the model number G955F/FD regardless of region.
Flash it via Odin. Load the AP, BL, CP, CSC or HOME_CSC file in Odin to flash.
CSC will wipe the phone, Home_CSC will not wipe.
Here are the firmware details:
PDA: G955FXXU4DSBA
CSC: G955FOXM4DSBA
Region: Germany DBT
Build Date: Fri, 15 Feb 2019
Download: G955FXXU4DSBA_G955FOXM4DSBA_DBT.ZIP
All I want you to do is to hit the thanks button. enjoy!

Apparently my 'active CSC' is still the same as before and there' doesn't seem to be a way to change it. This is so frustrating...!

You'll have to enter the country specific CSC code, OXM will not work. However, the downloaded firmware will be OXM.
