I loled a bit but I understand the problem. He managed to S-ON while on new firmware, currently on HBOOT 1.23 and now cannot flash anything, even with the gold card. I am in the same boat on HBOOT 1.20.
He is asking if there are any plans to update revolutionary S-OFF to support Sensation HBOOT 1.23

hboot version? is s-off?

i have a tmous htc sensation. was at hboot 1.17.0018. i am now at 1.17.1111. i read the guide on how to s-off and it says i need to be at 1.17.1011. did i do something wrong? it says s-off but its no at hboot 1.17.1011. is this normal
i experienced almost the same thing, i updated with RUU 1.45 which put the hboot to 1.18.0000, but when i flashed a new rom, its went to 1.17.1111 still s-off for both, and no issues in between
than you very much. i will move forward.
(thanks button hit)
Iirc s-off is actually a radio flag and nothing to do with the bootloader.
Revolutionary's hboots (1011/1111) have the flash ability which is what is desired.

thanks for the info (button hit.)
this my first android phone so some of this stuff is new to me. like i said i just followed the guide and it said .1011 and thats what i was expecting. but this is good for future reference

[Q] Flashing 2.00.0002 hboot over Revolutionary

Hi guys
I have a Desire that I bought with an operator pack, so it is a branded phone, and I used Revolutionary to have s-off.
Then I got an xtc-clip, and made Radio s-off with XTC plus.
Now I want to flash the latest HBOOT that came with Sense 3 OTA update.
But my phone is branded, and I saw that flashing stock hboot via dd command on a branded phone is not good.
As I used to have a Desire, which i bricked by flashing a corrupted hboot, I don't want to brick my DS too.

Don't bother flashing new hboot, it offers you no advantage, look instead for ENG hboot see link in index thread
[MISC] ENG HBOOT 0.98.2000
Swyped from my Desire S using XDA Premium
Yeah, but the problem is the same. Can i flash this eng hboot even on a branded phone ?

The new hboot has also a new partition table.

I found a way to overwrite Revolutionary HBOOT with ENG HBOOT

That hboot was made to overwrite AlphaRevX one, but that's the same mechanism, so that works.

[Q] Is it possible to get S-OFF on HBoot 1.23?

Hello Geeks.
I have recently misled myself by getting my phone back from s-off to s-on before installing the stock RUU on my Sensation XE.
However, i have managed to unbrick the phone and i have a custom ROM running on it while there is S-ON right now.
I was running ICS which means i upgraded the HBOOT from 1.18 to 1.23 and revolutionary does not support this HBOOT version yet.
I want to know if there is a possible way of downgrading the HBOOT version to 1.18 or 1.17 with the S-ON because i cant get S-OFF until its downgraded to something revolutionary supports.
OR
Is there a compatible RUU update utility that will flash my device back to stock and restore everything?
Thanks.
Not until:
1. Revolutionary becomes compatible, or;
2. The ICS RUU is officially leaked, therefore becoming a 'proper' HBOOT in a warranty sense

I'm still writing the guide... trying to make it noob friendly. it includes suicide bricking and downgrading...
detailed guide soon to be here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23078349 stay tuned
Ah, so you have to brick the phone first to downgrade it? Seems a bit severe but at least it's a method.
Surely if someone was silly enough to S-ON with a new HBOOT they will more than likely properly brick their phone??

Hboot downgrade

Actually i'm s-on and revolutionary is not working with hboot version 1.27.0000. I want to downgrade hboot version to install a custom rom. And...... My cid isn't 11111111 so i cant install android 2.3.4 with hboot version who is accepted by revolutionary. Thanks !

You can't downgrade your hboot with s-on. That really is common knowledge and if you weren't aware of that, I would suggest you do a lot more reading before attempting s-off anyway. I'm sorry to be a **** but you aren't ready.
I'm suggest you to wait until revo come out with the support for your HBOOT version
Hi. Try this method. Read first and if you have any further questions aks there.

This method is NOT for 1.27 hboot.
Isn't running a GB RUU enough to have everything back to a "S-OFFable" setting?
I used an "old" RUU to go back to a revolutionary compatible hboot on a friend of mine's Incredible S (hboot 2.0 to 1.13) and it worked... Is there something I don't know as the reason for this not to work on the Sensation (surely there is... )?
try to do tacoroot to access revolutionary maby it help

there is NO difference in the hboot's so no point updating it and even if you did when you s-offf again you will be back to the 1.27 hboot so if you did update it would be pointless
my phone came with hboot 1.29 once i gained s-off it was back to hboot 1.27 because NO1 has yet made hboot 1.29 s-off ( no1 has patched the 1.29 hboot for s-off users ) which means yes you can update but there's no point either way you will always end up back on hboot 1.27 after using s-off tools
i have attatched the new 1.29 hboot but there is still no point as when you use s-off again you will like i said end up back at 1.27
what about firmware 3.33

a patched hboot is when the current security is set to s-off rather than s-on. stock hboot 1.29 has security in the hboot set to s-on

Afaik revolutionary/jupuntobear give full radio s-off so any hboot you switch to will be s-off afterwards. Those patched hboots are for the htcdev bootloader unlocking to allow fastboot commands ect
