Bro McPhersy has discovered the latest HTC firmware for the European & possibly Asian Trophy here.

Please Thank him there!
For convenience of Trophy users, I'm posting the URL & review here.

Internet Sharing IS in this cab. Standard caveat applies! Backup your device before updating! I've only tested IS on my Trophy on M1, my mobile operator. They do not have restrictions for Internet Sharing AFAIK. Your mileage depends on your operator.
I will post test results like battery consumption & compatibility with HTC software when I get the chance.
My Trophy is NOT Unlock so I can't comment on that. Wait for others to post their results.
WARNING THIS WILL CHANGE YOUR PHONE TO EUROPE SETTINGS
Other than that I can confirm results!
So the Firmware doesn't break interop-unlock etc.?

According to Heathcliff74, Unlocked HTC phones will not relock moving to 51201 but you can't unlock it after updating.

this removes the "htc" accent color and replaces it with "vodafone" (red) one. I have a non-branded trophy but my operator is Vodafone.
it's now:
Firmware: 2250.21.51201.707
Radio-SW: 5.69.09.05a_22.50.21U
Bootloader: 5.12.2250.1(134400)
and yes, internet-sharing is enabled (I had it since the previous htc-update). I can't see any other difference than before (can't tell you about interop-unlock because I don't have done it on this phone).
I didn't get 5100x, including many other Trophy users, so it's a big deal for us. ;-)

I am bumping this thread: Is there a NEWER update then this for GSM Trophy? I want the newer Wireless driver to port over to Spark_W.
I attempted to enable ICS with Spark_W's newest Wireless driver (Mango v3 on 8107), but I just can't get it to work, no matter what policies and settings I push out. I can use the the wireless driver found in this update just fine on Spark_W, but it has the MAC address bug that keeps changing the MAC address. I was hoping to obtain a newer cab to nab the Wireless driver out of that for my WIP Spark_W rom.

Considering getting a non-contract unlocked T-Mobile (HTC) G2, and running it on AT&T for the trial period, but I've realized I don't understand how OTA updates work if you're on the non-native carrier.
Is it done from the OS to the manufacturer (device talks to HTC and it all just works), or is it device-to-walled-garden-server (device won't update unless it's on T-Mobile US with active service) or some strange mix of those modes, or...?
Thanks.
You shouldn't need to use OTA if you use the manufacturers software+drivers on your pc, you will be able to upgrade that way (make sure it recognise's your device) as far as I know OTA is just a way of upgrading without connecting via pc, some networks release firmware updates for customers this way but if you keep an eye on here then I can assure you, you wont miss any available improvements

Hi have a uk t-mobile samsung omnia 7 with the original firmware version 7004.
I have been waiting patiently for the update but it is still in a testing stage with t-mobile and they are clearly in no rush to release it.
I have the phone unlocked with chevron,
can anyone tell me whats the best way to get the new firmwares and if there are any downsides that anyone has experienced in upgrading through a non official way.
Also any pointers on how to keep the phone unlocked after the update would be appreciated.
I've looked through the forums but there is way too much information and methods, and I cant find anything specific for my phone.
Thanks for any advice
Ez, I had the same firmware as you, I got fed up of waiting so I just flashed the I8700 XEN I8700XENJK1 rom from samfirmware. I then use the Hungary trick to get Nodo which worked 1st time for me. My phone now runs like a dream, no lag on the market, games load fast etc.... I cant believe T-Mobile are still holding onto it, wankers!!!
Only downside was having to change the regions etc to the uk which took about 30 secs.
Omnia 7 T-Mobile UK
Hi I did the reg key trick with the VPN and worked for me. Plus my phones still dev unlocked on nodo. Yeah I agree about t-mobile they are taking the piss and blaming MS for there failure.

@antony: Which method did you use? The Data connection one or the WiFi?
The Omnia 7 UK has a 3G toggle as well. Whenever I try either of the two methods above, it never works. Maybe you can explain how you did it since it's applicable to our devices specifically?
Hi Antony
Is there a thread about the reg key trick with a vpn?
cheers dude.
Back in June, when the developers forum was blowing up with links to "download.windowsupdate.com" for the Tango update, I downloaded and pushed the .cabs for 8773 and firmware provided for my Lumia 710 RM-809 (found over here).
As a few people soon discovered, the firmware was supplied by a member in Canada and was evidently from Rogers. Although we got all the goodies from Tango (Internet sharing, extra camera features etc), it posed a problem for myself and other T-Mobile subscribers: now we weren't on the T-Mobile update channel.
It might be worth mentioning that I didn't purchase my 710 from T-Mobile; I received it from Microsoft as a prize in a contest. It was sent to me in an international box with Brazilian stickers (which would make it an RM-809, I assume).
So I'm wondering: are T-Mobile devices exclusively RM-803 and not RM-809? If so, it would probably be impossible for me to get a hold of firmware that would set me on the T-Mobile update channel.
If you have an answer to my question or any input, please let me know below.
Thanks!
(I attached a picture of the box label for reference)
Hello,
I was looking to buy an 8X and had a few questions before I do I was hoping someone could/would answer:
1. I was wondering if anyone can post suggestions of reputable retailers that sell the "HTC Windows Phone 8X Unlocked" that will work on AT&T with 4G LTE.
Please note I am looking for the official "Unlocked" version straight from HTC.
2. Is it possible to share the internet via Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/USB with the 8X to a PC or other device?
3. Can any one post highly recommended custom ROMs for the 8X?
I am coming from an older HTC HD2 using Dutty's ROMs and I am looking to see what I can do similar with the new 8X phone.
Thanks.
1. I bought it straight from Bell Aliant (Canadian AT&T). Hence, I couldn't recommend you any retailers.
2. Sure is! As far as I know, you can only do a Wifi Hotspot.
3. There's no custom ROMs for WP8. It's a Windows Phone, really not as open as Android. But really, you don't need a custom ROM. I was an Android fanboy before switching to Windows Phone. I loved the idea of customizing my phone and using the latest, fastest ROM. However, this phone is seriously the fastest phone I've ever used, without even having a custom ROM.
I bought an unlocked and unbranded Bell (Canada) 8X. It works 100% on ATT after a couple of tweaks like APN's. I believe that AT&T and Bell are the only two versions that will work with AT&T's LTE. Do some research and check out the exact model numbers before purchasing.

Hey guys,
So this goes out to anyone who may be able to help. I literally just got a new Nokia Lumia 1020 from my network in the UK - 3 (three hutchison UK) and as per usual as with all network only handsets they have branding and their own bloatware stuff on there which slows the handset down and often makes it slightly unstable. I know that with Android handsets it's a simple case of just installing a rooted version of your firmware and then replacing with the native unlocked/unbranded firmware which will debrand your handset, however I've never done such things with windows phones and certainly never messed about with a Nokia.
I've got the Nokia Caresuite but when I got the latest version there was no way to download the various firmwares available due to needing a username/password to login to the care server. Does anyone know where I can get generic firmware which is loaded onto the normal unlocked versions? As I know you can get these through third parties still like Carphone Warhouse and Phones4u, however as my network recently cut ties with both companies I ended up having to get the handset directly through my network. Wouldn't of minded changing networks except for the fact I get great signal through 3 and all you can eat data usage!
Any help from anyone who has achieved this would be great. The product number for mine is the RM-875.
Thanks
Dave.
Dave,
To debrand your phone follow this process: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2515453
ROM you need to download is one of these:
059T1V6 RM-875 VAR EURO GB CV BLACK
059T4N5 RM-875 VAR EURO GB CV WHITE
059T4N3 RM-875 VAR EURO GB CV YELLOW
Depending on the colour of your Lumia.
As for SIM unlock code, Three UK supplies that free of charge, but the waiting time is up to 7 days. All you need to do is follow this process: http://support.three.co.uk/SRVS/CGI...cat=billing,varset_subcat=3772,Case=obj(4363)
Cheers!
That's excellent I might have to give it a blast when i get my phone back from Nokia as it's there for a screen repair!
The phone is Vodafone branded (Only slightly) but knowing it's there does annoy me a little so this information is great.

How can i unlock my lumia 1020?
i will apresiate your help!
I unlocked and unbranded my Vodafone uk 1020. I used an older version of the Nokia suite, downloaded the unbranded rom then upgraded to the latest Nokia suite and updated. I followed one of the links i found somewhere. Worked a treat. I unlocked through Vodafone which was long winded but worthwhile.
