Restore option not available - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I want to restore my HD7 to older version (7720), but Zune is not showing restore.. Is there any other way for rollback??
Sent from my HD7 T9292 using Board Express

Hi,
sorry to hear that your Zune won't show your backup. This usually means, that it has been deleted.
Please do the following to be sure:
Ensure, that it is the same computer, from which you updated your phone. The backups are saved on your pc, nowhere else.
Ensure, that it is the same phone which has been connected to your pc and been updated. AFAIK Zune will only offer the backup to its original phone.
Look on your pc under %appdata%\Local\Microsoft\Windows Phone Update if there are really no backups.
If you checked all those points, I'm afraid you cannot restore your backup since someone/something deleted your backup.
Greetings
relexx

Developer Phone Registration

I can run Developer Phone Registration on Pre-Nodo to unlock my phone.
But After I update to Mango B2 Refresh, I found that my phone is relocked. I can't deploy any app to my phone. So I run Developer Phone Registration again. It says "Unable to connect to phone. Please that check that the zune software is running and that zune sync partnership with your phone has been established.
How can I fix this issue.
Zune version 4.82134.0

You need to restore your device under settings. I had the same problems. It seems like the registry edits or maybe the homebrew apps are causing a conflict.

Reset on your phone. You'll still be in Mango, but loose all data on your device (installed apps/etc., have to setup again). Make sure to copy your back-up from Zune to a safe place before doing anything. I've had my back-up disappear a few times, not sure if it's from restoring or not. Using Zune's restore will just take you back to NoDo.
Back-up location;
C:\Users\"UserID"\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Phone Update\"DeviceID"\
Just copy the whole "DeviceID" folder somewhere safe.

Thank you so much. I found that issue was caused from custom Keyboard that I deployed to my WP7. ^^

Guess MS built in some kind of protection that checks the installed apps for interopservices or something. Kind of stupid it doesn't just give you an error telling to uninstall x(,y, & z) app(s).

Can't restore Lumia 710.....flashable ROM?

I forced 8107 onto my T-Mobile Lumia 710, and the light sensor doesn't seem to be working (screen doesn't brighten in direct sunlight), so I wanted to restore to my old point. The problem was, the only restore point I had was on my work machine. So I remoted in, downloaded DropBox to my work machine, made a zip of the backup from my work machine, and uploaded the zip to my DropBox account. When I moved the backup zip to my user/AppData/Microsoft/Local/... on my laptop Zune didn't recognize it as a backup and kept deleting it.
So I figured I would just wait and come to work to restore my backup and now my backup from WORK is deleted as well. I still have the file on my laptop at home, so at least I still have it.
My question is, is there a way I can use my restore point, or is there a flashable 7740 Stock ROM for the T-Mobile Lumia 710 I can use?
I believe the phone must have the primary sync relationship with the computer that you're trying to restore on. Sync the phone with the PC (and make it the primary PC) and then try copying in the restore point to the correct location (make sure it's the right location! You may need to close Zune before you can overwrite the folder that is automatically created when you sync the phone). Then, try restoring again. Ideally, you'd be able to Syn with Zune, copy over the restore point while Zune is running, and then go to Settings - Phone - Update and hit Restore.
For another way to restore the phone, try the following:
Disconnect from the PC and turn the phone off.
Press and hold the Camera button, then press Power. The phone should boot into the backup/update/recovery mode (mostly black and white).
On the PC, start Zune and copy the restore point. If you can't copy the restore point while Zune runs, close Zune, do the copy, and then start Zune again.
Connect the phone (still in recovery mode) to the PC (with Zune running) via USB.
Zune should prompt to restore the phone, tell it to do so.

[Q] efs pro help

i used efs pro to back up my efs file but i need to restore it. I used version 1.4.7.0 to back it up and when i clicked the app it said i needed to turn the debugging on but it is already off. After clicking ok it says that my device is not connected but it is. i downloaded the new version (1.12.6.0) and it does the same thing.
can someone help me out please?
What ROM are you on?
Why do you need to restore it? What happened?
What files has EFS Pro created?
Do you have a non-Windows system you can use?

ROM: resurrection remix
i need to restore my IMEI because my phone had a hard dropped. last time that my phone had a similar drop its IMEI got corrupt or lost.
last time this happened i think i used heimdall one click to restore it to original rom and i used efs pro app from the devs to backup my efs file
i only have a pc on windows xp
little extra detail: i tried to use efs pro to restore my efs file but when i click on the efs pro application it says to enable debugging (it says it even if i already have usb dubugging on) then i click the ok button and the application runs then another notification pops up and says "please wait while your device connects with the ADB server... " and it stays there. if i click cancel then another notification pops up and says "Device is NOT connected! Please connect the USB cable and try again!"
need to restore EMEI
it seemed to be a mistake on my part.
i had to unplus my usb on my phone then disable dubugging then enable it and finally plug my usb cable in and it worked.
my only problem is now that the first time i backed up my efs folder it didn't save on either my pc or my sdcard...which is weird cuz i remember it saying that i backed them up.
if anyone can help me get my EMEI back on my phone that would be great
have my efs file saved on my pc from just copy and pasting it from the mass usb mode. (efs pro was suppose to be my efs back up but i guess it didn't save) can anyone help me out?

BackUps from TitanumBackup and Super Backup are not shown on Windows

Hello,
I have made a BackUp with TitanumBackup and Super Backup(logs, contacts and sms), but I can't see these BackUps on Windows, when i connect my Phone with my computer. I can see the TitanumBackup-folder with no content in it. And there also is a SmsContactsBackup-folder, but only with a log.xml-file and not with sms and contacts.
But when i look in the datamanager of my phone(Stock-Rom: CM11s) then i can see all Backups.
I want to flash the Temasek-ROM, but i can't do it now, because i want to save the TitanumBackup-folder and the SmsContactBackup-folder, but i can't, because windows do not recognize the backups.
What shall I do?
Sincerely,

Best Method to Backup Data from No Root Recall Tablet ( Locked Bootloader) to new one

As it says in the subject line, I'd never felt compelled to root my Shield Tablet buy now wishing I had. It is on the latest 5.1.1 update and I want to transfer my data in such a way as go clone it onto the new tablet I've received due to the recall.
Is there anyway of making a Nandroid backup and loading recovery without unlocking and losing the data I want to keep or another alternative method such as the built in adb backup solution.
Thanks for the assistance in advance.
I managed to use Helium (Carbon)
But remember having several issues:
First step was getting the desktop app to recognize the tablet in debug mode. In the end drivers need to be reinstalled with 'have disk'.
Think i used the ones from nvidia website
Also afterwards Helium had trouble detecting existing backups. Had to install all apps manually on the new tablet, 'fake' backup everything again, then replace all .ab files with the ones from your 'real' backups. Some details here.
