random reboots, battery pulls due to freezing, terrible battery life.
just wait till gingerbread is out then get the phone.
the only problem I've had with my phone is just the gps taking a long time to lock.. Other than I've been problem free and great battery life
My first one was crashing all the time. I just got a new one and it hasn't crashed yet, but the backlight is too intense and bleeds through. Wait for the S2.

I could use all the help I can get. The more help I can get, the better the ROM gets baked!
Nice looking ROM you have here.
Make a full list of the features if possible.
Do you need to disable voodoo?

Cool, thanks. Let me know what comes up. What seems to be a problem, what seems to be broken, how the GUI looks.
if anyone knows how to disable the power saver feature, so that your screen and keyboard don't get all dark once you hit 15 or 10% battery, and also so that you can still use your camera at 10% battery, I think it would be cool. not sure if this power saver annoys other people or not, lol, but there were ROMs for the Epic 4G that had this tweak, but I never found out how it was done.
Your skype version doesn't work properly. The advance features crash the app. Also just a sidenote the skype is for gingerbread not froyo so that's probably why

Thanks for letting me know. Does it run faster than GOV2 did? Any glitches?
It's good for your first rom I've had a few androids now and for not being a heavy developer it is good. Personally i cant give a good comparison as i have my gov2 supercharged, it seems to run just as nice though. I didnt use this rom super long, more like i just wanted to test it out. Keep up the goodwork!

Thanks for the feedback, I was thinking about disbanding this ROM...but I may stick with it. Can you let me know if Swype works with the orange trace? I'm now working on 2 ROMS.
Swype beta and the gingerbread keyboard kept non stop force closing after both times I tried flashing it.

yeah, same here, constant force close loop, with only about 2 or 3 seconds to try and do anything in-between force closes.
Thanks for the feedback guys! From now on, I'm going to leave this ROM but I may come back to it in the future for whatever reason. For now on, please use the latest version of GenericGinger, which at the time of this post is 3.4 BETA. Thanks!

Hi, I have observed lot of stutter while scrolling web pages in Opera Mobile. I am using ztock rom ZSLE6, stock kernel. Opera Mobile installed on my phone is the latest version available at Play Store.
Also, I have observed such stutters while scrolling in apps like facebook and even the xda app, and while scrolling through home screens. Note that I have no widgets on my home screens, just app shortcuts.
Has anyone else observed such behavior? Is this an OS limitation? Any solution?

I am using neo v2.1 based on zsle5.... i have noticed that on occasion (usually after the device has been on for a long time) scrolling through the home screen
and launcher is very slow.... clearing memory, closing all the apps down or using an external task manager has no effect on this problem.... however this isssue is usually resolved by a quick reboot (it takes <30 seconds).... But if its consistently slow for you I recommend you take it to the service center as when I was using the stock ROM I dont remember any noticeable lags.

Im not sure If I'm understanding what kind of stuttering you're talking about, but please check; applications=> Display, and on the bottom of the scroll list check "auto adjust screen power" and uncheck the setting, then check the stuttering again... If this can't solve your issue can't help you man.

I dont think changing the auto adjust screen power helps as the problem is not with the level of the brightness of the screen but in the animation effects... still i have always kept the auto adjust screen power unchecked so i dont think that could be the problem....

Haven't had time to revert to ZSLE5. Will report once done. But magically stutter seems to be much less (though still present) on ZSLE6 now. Don't know what's happening!
Flashed ZSLE5, everything seemed smooth. Decided to again try ZSLE6. Things smooth on this as well, don't know what hit me earlier... Some lag was observed in both roms, but then that's android's problem. :banghead:
Looking forward to ICS from Samsung or JB from CM, whichever comes first. Though I wish CM nails it to make our device all butter-y!
Same here...flashed zsle5 n den zsle6...the lag has been reduced further..touch is far more accurate on zsle6
Its funny isint it ??

How is ics holding up for you? Is the battery life any better than in gb or froyo? Are benchmarks reporting better results? Are there any new features that you like? Is rhe phone behaving smoother and snappier? How good is the ram management?
There are a lot of us who, for various reasons, still havent tried ics, so we need you guys to tell us what to expect. Thanks in advance

Noone? Really? Come on guys don't be lazy.
ICS is one of the smoothest for P920. LG did a really good job with this even though this was a beta and not even for our phone. Everything improves with additional features from ICS except battery life which decreased significantly in my case of ICS.
The look and feel is new and with the new animations everything became fun for a phone i once referred to as a "mistake in my part." Dragging out the notifications really helps because you had to heed them for it to go away. Added power widget feature Wi-fi hotspot. You can share your mobile internet with this baby but consumes a lot of your battery...
All in all a great upgrade but you need a spare battery at all times to fully use the phone without having to worry about the battery.
Hope I Helped...
Cheers!

I'm using Ferakernel-Feravlot ICS 4.0.9. What i noticed ia follows:
1. Fantastic Battery Life in 2G and good life in 3g
2. RAM Management is good.
3. Phone is quite smooth
4. Features are good.
But the following are the disadvantages:
1. Automatic Brightness is not working
2. Video recording is not working.
3. Data Usage is not useful.
4. Battery Usage is not fully useful.
5. When call comes, the ringtone is not clear. The ringtone is breaking.
6. USB-Tethering is not working.
7. Every time contacts are synchronized with the server resulting in redundancy of contacts.
8. Unable to select Multiple contact for deletion.
(Sorry for poor English, typed in hurry).
How to improve this, following are the solutions: (Consider Sony Xperia x10i)
1.Android 1.6 UI is the best UI since today. (Phone book, timescape, backgrounds are excellent). So keep this UI and update the back end performance.
2. Automatic brightness,Battery Usage are available there, so no need to worry about it.
3. Add USB-tethering and data usage to the settings.
4. Launcher is good and so no need to worry about.
5. Just change the android framework 10 4.1 and keep all UI interface and above points same as Android 1.6.
If you release with above said points, your OS is best of all.
Man, this is the Optimus 3D section, not the x10i.
noway your the only one. i have 35% drain overnight 2g, data off.

Battery consumption reduced
Home.apk quite smooth
Many new options in the notification bar, app drawer and home screen.
Pointer is more accurate
Widgets are less
Keyboard and web-browser is extremely laggy! It opens pages quickly but takes ages to respond to a button.
No guaranteed method for root, you also have to flash a recovery.img and cwm/twrp manually, which makes the risk of brick very high, and even if there is a fix guide, there will always be an issue that some people have and isn't mentioned in the guide.
Bottom line, if you want a good ics experience, you're in for a lot of work :I in comparison to GB

If you do some reading (reading .. not joking) rooting it is a piece of cake.
And if you do a little more reading about how to use fastboot flash you won't even need to root the original ICS ROM.
Its all about reading (and understanding).
Right now there are some very good ROMS from various developers (lag free) and KERNELS that give us over 10.000 points in Antutu.
About CWM or TWRP if you don't know how to flash it you can always use Milaqs Recovery installer which uses 2nd init procedure (or if you like you can use both recovery methods like I do, 2nd unit and partition).
If you don't understand anything that I say you should stay in Gingerbread.
Apart from that you can always try CM10 which is easier.

Then you'll have a problem with the Cosmo drivers (surprise surprise) <-- that WASN'T mentioned in the book, you read everywhere until you find help, still if you know nothing about modding or developing you're likely to make little mistakes and you don't know how :I like if you were a mod you'd say "oh I forgot to tick this option on" normal user would keep trying until they brick their phone *-* now you're problem is doubled. all my knowledg is about "what worked and what didn't work" like who knew using WKPARK's method and rooting are just the same or in what regards?
Try on your own risk I know, but still no guide mentions everything so you might be deluded, the risk usually comes from there not from missing a step
Sent from my LG-SU760 using xda app-developers app
Yes guides can't cover everything and this is XDA-Developers not LG Support.
Apart from that there is no "true" risk anymore with P920/SU760 devices because they can get unbricked unless their hardware is physically damaged and this can't happen by ROM's.
Once again patience and reading will make your phone return back to normal but if somebody is new in XDA or doesn't know or can't understad the basics he better stay with official Gingerbread.

You don't need to be a developer to know this stuff and there are always people to help you in this forum for "Free".
Guides are prepared for the exact same situation that the creator was in. So in turn guide prepares you to be in the same situation to make the guide work.
The creator of the guide may have left something trivial out like "power on the phone" or "you can let go of the button now" you know , things that a Monkey could crack.
If you don't wanna experiment on it , then don't.
But stop whining.

Now Im having a lot of problems.
1.) Too laggy.. When i slide through menu pages, sliding wont work and the app where i pressed to slide will open. This is so annoying ..
2.)Typing lags.. I have to wait for some seconds after typing a word to see it on the textbox. I tried both samsung keypad and swype.
3.)While typing, sometimes keys are pressed automatically .. (seems like touch screen is having some problem)
4.)battery backup is low
Now im on stock rom 2.3.6 .. But i have tried many custom roms.. When using custom roms, some poblems are solved.
As a conclusion, i think my touch screen is having some problems. Its not smooth enough. If my hand is little sweaty then touch goes weird.
What can i do ??
Anyone experienced the same problem ?
I d try to calibrate your touchscreen, there are apps that allows u to test your phone.
If that doesnt work, i dont know...i m using 4.1.2 jellybam + swap sd +revolution kernel 1.5 fix, try to change to this ROM and thats it.
