Hi,
I've been having a lot of problems with my sensation, the most annoying at the moment is the fact that my alarm doesn't always bother going off in the mornings. I'm fairly sure it has to be a software bug, last time the phone went back to HTC for repair they replaced the motherboard and its still doing it every now and again.
Since nobody else I know of with a sensation is having the same problem i got to wondering if it is related to the Vodafone rom on my phone. My question is: Is there a way of removing the vodafone software from my phone and making it behave like a stock UK/European Sensation such that it will still receive any OTA updates etc directly from HTC?
Thanks
As you are still looking for the OTA updates, I recommend a factory data reset before you do anything esla
From stock then run the phone with no extra downloads for a week or so and If the alarm is OK, then sadly the problem was/is what you have downloaded/settings you have changed

Stupid question but have you restarted the phone?
you could try to re register your device on your network
Settings...wireless & networks....mobile networks.....network operator.......search network
And select your network

I'm certainly no guru
I'm afraid no ideas...although I'd be tempted to say it's probably an operator issue and not related to the update

did you solve the problem mrs been having the same problem on her desire s on tmobile and a friend also using the desire s on tmobile wonder if its network or phone problem
I have had this problem since an OTA update from my provider (O2).
I have put it down to the known issues which are outlined in this thread...
Ah I can't post threads...google android forums signal drops completely htc desire s
(androidforums.com/htc-desire-s/396171-signal-drops-completely-htc-desire-s.html)
I have put my phone on GSM only and no problems at all, as soon as I switch to GSM/WCDMA Auto. I get lots of issues, delayed txts, calls to me go straight to answer phone etc.
Running 2.3.3..........hoping to update soon, which, fingers crossed with help the issue

i have exactly the same problem without the answer phone.. just the delay sms.. and i was using it on gsm only also... but i sent it to service.. and i will tell you if the problem is solved
I has also that problems when I bought my Desire S, a lot of them, but, after install Saga3D rom and after that Endymion 2.1 I don't have that problems...
I have the same problem, Desire S in the UK (with CM7). Phone calls also go through to answer phone without ever being notified as well.
This really sucks.. A phone that doesn't work as a phone.
The only temp fix I've found is to dial *#*#4636#*#* and go to phone information and change the mode to GSM only. Unfortunately, this means no 3G data connection. So really slow internet.
Dude check if the calls are going to voice mail directly....cause our customers come with the same issue and we give them the steps to turn off and on the voicemail and it works fine....
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App
Yea, they are going straight to voicemail. I've reflashed Cyanogenmod today, and so far it's been working ok...
Judging by this forum, it doesn't affect everyone, but a significant amount of people do suffer from it.
Hey guys!! So as you might be able to tell, or can already tell, I'm a noob!! I've had my HTC Sensation 4G since September with everything in stock as I received it when I bought it. I'm completely new to Android so I don't really understand the rooting, flashing business.
But my question is about the HTC Sense. Right now, I'm on my 3rd replacement device from T-Mobile. I started having HTC Sense as it would keep freezing and restarting. I even did a factory reset and still after that I had the issue. So T-Mobile sent me a replacement, and I had same issue with that so I got a replacement for that which is what I'm using right now. And with no surprise, the HTC Sense issue started again. It's not as frequent, but it happened a few times today. So at that moment, I just turned the phone off and turned it back on after 20 minutes and since then no issues.
My question is, is there any fix to this HTC Sense issue?? I mean I'm sure it'll come back, but it's just sooooo annoying!
Root and flash android revolution man.

And how exactly is that done?? I'm sorry, but I really don't know.

I'm having problems with my phone shutting off randomly when the battery is below 50 or 60 percent. Saw a thread where someone sent it to HTC and they changed the mother board and it was fixed.
I called HTC and they are having this issue reported a lot lately and confirmed that the motherboard needs to be changed.
Should I bring this bad boy back to stock or does the software not matter because they will just be checking the hardware?
I would unroot it I were you. I wouldn't want them to say that they will not repair my phone because it has been rooted.

Hey there. Yep I had this problem. Flash an official RUU and send it back. Thats what I did. They don't want to be seeing a custom recovery nor ROM, as they'll say it's your fault and void your warranty. I also went back so S-ON. They pretty much changed all the guts of my phone and it's been working sweet....So far so good =)
If you send off your phone they will repair it, they always do but with payment

I have a non-rooted Sensation Z710e running Android 4.0.3 and v3.6 Sense.
Since upgrading to ICS it's been unstable. Getting worse I think, with more frequent restarts. Never did that on GB.
Yes I can do a factory reset but since apparently I'm not the only one with this problem, I thought this would be a good place to ask if that actually solved the problem for those who did that.
Separate (NOOB-level) but related question: Is there a problem that with every one of these restarts, the Android 36-step install happens?
This seems stoopid and takes forever to get he phone operational each time. It's not like it's actually pulling down new updates.
Note I did check for other threads for this and none specifically met my issue's criteria.

Well actually there is a thread about random restarts with ics and someone say that is battery related and someone say that is sw related...

@ NorrRadd My advice to you is to go and download RUU either from football links or from HERE Flash your phone with the software, your problems sounds like bad Upgrade. Anyway it is original software so you want make mistake. You know how to use RUU ? (If you dont...
1.download the file
2.Run the .exe in windows
3.Connect your phone (USB)
4.Follow the instructions on screen )
A lot of people have been having the problem. I called HTC and my warranty isn't up so I can send in my phone and get a new mother board. The rep confirmed that they have been getting lots of complaints about this problem.
I tried this fix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1622683 and have been going 3 days without a shutdown. I have never been able to go that long before. I just used a piece of notecard and wedged it in there. Worth a try and of that doesn't work call HTC if you have had your phone for less than a year.
Thanks all. I will look in ruu and having HTC look at it as it's still under warranty. Will let you know how I make out.
Thanks again.
Hi,
since some time after I updated my sensation XE to ICS (stock) I have a problem with the launcher. Nearly every time I leave an app and sometimes even right after unlocking I get a white screen with only a green HTC logo, then after some time I see a "loading" note until I can finally use my phone. Sometimes the launcher restarts again right after it just came up.
I have looked for solutions and it was suggested to turn of fastboot and stop forcing hardware acceleration, which I did. But the issue still persists. I have quite a lot of apps installed, but I don't run many simultaneously. My first bet was juice defender ultimate, but deactivating that did not help.
The task-manager shows only the following active apps: Business Calendar, Contacts and Google services framework. The battery life is also pretty good so I don't think it's a problem with too many parallel tasks.
The phone is a European sensation XE running stock android 4.0.3, 3.32.401.105.
Any suggestions?

Hi, Just use a third party launcher and disable htc sense, I had the same issue on an asian "hk" sensation xe i got from amazon and use on tmobile us. It runs a lot better now and scores 2900 on quadrant vs 2370 with sense.
as far as I am aware that would require me to root my phone. Does anyone have a solution that would not require that?
Mine does it all the time, that's why I hardly ever use sense anymore. I run sslauncher and it never happens now. I'm sure it's a bug in sense.....

I had the same problem.
Go to:
Settings/Develop Option/Apps/Background Process Limit/Standard Limit.
That fixed the problem for me.

My wife haqd the same issue on her O2 supplied XE, a quick unlock and flash of ARHD and it is all fixed.
This does not help you though if you don't want to root

I have just contacted htc in the matter, let's see what they say. If they can't fix it then I will probably root and switch to trebuchet launcher.
