I really hate posting this here, as I know it's not really the optimal place, but I'm not yet allowed to post in the development forum. I flashed Lord ClockaN's latest (4.0.3)-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1450962-ICS beta onto my Inspire 4g, and I was wondering if anybody else had been experiencing glitches while using the Market. For instance, when downloading an app, it rapidly blinked between "in progress" and "failed" like it was desperately trying to download, but couldn't. While trying to download 2 apps at once, in the notification drop down, both download notices themselves were flickering.
Again, I apologize for posting this here, but I hope that someone with the ability to post in development forums can relay this message for me.
Actually this is where you want to ask this. They don't want bug reports on their forum since its beta and they are most likely aware of all the validated issues. I would just try to uninstall and reinstall market. There are no guarantees though, as it is still in beta.
Isn't that ROM available in the Desire HD forum? So why are you asking it here in the Inspire forum? Might get a quicker response asking it over there.

does anyone know how to get market to work on "bottle of smoke"? I installed it and work really well by market wont install apps. Just download it and reboot
Which alpha are you running? My market acts funny, but never inspires a reboot. Sometimes when I go to download something, the last app that I was using fires up. But when I go back to the market everything is OK and I can download stuff again.
Try this; go into clockworkmod recovery and "Fix Permissions". This seems to fix several market issues in BOS/Honeycomb.
I don't mean to sound rude, nor do I want ot appear to be directing people to the "other" forum, but since BOS is still in Alpha stages, there's a lot of stuff being tested, daily, sometimes hourly. There is a very detailed thread on the other forum dealing specifically with bug reports, test results, fixes, thoughts, last ditch attempts, etc.
I would suggest that following the thread there would answer many, many more questions than anything you'll find on XDA. Put it this way, I started reading the thread last evening, and every time I finished a page of posts, I noticed that there were 2 new pages posted. It updates rather quickly with people reporting their findings, and providing fixes for them, or theories.
In any case, BOS is not a finished product, and expecting things to work perfectly after flashing it is completely unrealistic.
The reason for my opinion on this is becuase just about every other post in that thread mentions the same exact problem you're having...then there's a new release, and market will work, but e-mail gets borked, or wi-fi doesnt' work, or it does, but only if you wipe data first, second, repeatedly, watch 20 bootloops, eat a bowl of cereal, wash the dog, then start the tablet while holding it upside down and pressing the vol- button with headphones plugged in...seriously, there is a bunch of stuff people are trying there, and posting results...not as fantastic as my suggestions, but I COULD go for some cereal...and that dog does stink.
TJE,
I tried posting it there but can't because I only have few posts as of today. In dev area, you have to have 10 or more posts in order to be able to post there.
apxn, the rules there are the same as here - there's a general area for questions, and only developers are to post new threads in the dev area, specifically related to roms or other objects they're developing.
I'm aware of that rule and got no problem with it. It was a simple question I couldn't asked in the dev area so I asked for it in this forum. Don't mean to offend anyone.

Don't mean to sound rude (again) but I know that this will anyway. You don't need any posts there to read the forum...the question you asked was answered numorous times in just one thread at the other site. It's not really a question anyway, as more of a "I'm helping to test this ALPHA mod and wanted to point out that I too have a market issue." There are no fixes because it's in testing. BOS is not a stable rom, and is not yet intended to be used for daily use, unless your daily use is specifically testing and reporting bugs to developers.
I suggest that you participate in the HC BOS thread at the other site until you have enough posts to be able to start your own thread...but realize that asking how to fix a known issue on an ALPHA build is not a valid question.

Seconded - go to the source for the real (and most current) info.
FYI, the general consensus is, for now, Alpha version 2.4 is the most stable. I am running it and have zero problems with market (in fact, you will be able to get tablet apps that are unavailable before you switch to BoS.)

Thanks. This 2.4 market info was helpful, I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out why the 3.3 build had missing apps in market (i.e.-Google books) when 2.4 did not. I guess I'll roll back.
Sorry for the noob question I try not to post here and bother you guys but I keep asking and getting different and not definitive answers. So I did the LG update and I have 2.3.3, The kernel is 2.6.32.9, Baseband July 15. So from reading in this forum I gather that the baseband is different but the kernel remained the same with the LG tool. Now the OTA changed the baseman and the kernel along with the gingerbread. Is that correct and what is the difference between kernels. I also heard that the stock camera shoots is 720P not the 1080p with the LG update. Then someone said that the OTA update shoots in 1080p. Is that true?
I have to say I really like the gingerbread features like the way it looks and the way it edits text with the bars (I know you can buy the keyboard in the market) but I don't see the difference in Battery, Speed or stability. The reason for that is my phone has been running like a champ since day one. So it was hard to get much better.
So if I use the link in this forum to go back to stock froyo can I then do the ota so I can get the new kernel or is there a way to get the new kernel without having to do that? Again I am sorry for posting here but you guys know the most so I just want the best info.
Charlie
Baseband is July 15 and the kernal stayed the same ain't much of a difference. I really don't care where you post but alot of the tough guys around here do. Goodluck uncle Charlie

Yeah. Nothing I've heard of a new kernel so you've got the best part of the update (imho), the baseband.
And yes this will be closed or moved soon and hopefully no ban.
XDA Mobile
Seeing as your new here, a little help for you.
This section of the boards you posted in is the "development" section. All posts regarding developing go here, nothing else. Each phone that XDA supports has a development, question and answers, theme, general, and an accessories section. You can find the main G2X section HERE. This post belongs in the Q&A section, not development as it has nothing to do with the latter.
Thing that gets people pissy here is people asking the same questions over and over, or posting non development related posts in this section. Normally, if its a ? it doesnt belong here.
Go to the auto store and buy condoms and go to the drug store to buy brake pads..see? doesnt work like that.

Thread closed, please post in the correct section.
I just installed RandomKing's "ThunderHawk III Final" rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1343669
I noticed I have a bug with my wireless not working, and wanted to report that, but apparently the forum prevents new users from posting to development threads. Must I really make 10 random posts just so I can do that? (I realize I may be able to PM RandomKing directly, but I figure it'd be good for other users to also be aware of what bugs are out there for these roms ...)
I guess I'm a little annoyed at being prevented from doing something that I considered "good" for the community ...

Did you read threw the thread to see if others had this issue? What did you do to try and fix it? Did you look in the Q&A forums in your device forums?

Yeah, I read through the tread, and as far as I can tell, the bug's been persistent through several versions of the rom. It was claimed that it was fixed with his latest version, but I guess not ...
The only fix I had found was to reboot the phone Today, the "app" to make calls (I think it's called "phone?") crashed several times, meaning I can't call people reliably, so I think I'm going to try a different rom. Thanks again for your help though!
same here. I'm having an issue with another rom myself, and just want to post to the developer a major bug that I am having. I read throug the entire forum post for that rom, and no one else mentioned the issue that I'm having.
its pretty bazaar that I when I answer a call waiting call no one can hear me. If I switch back to the original call, the same problem happens no one can hear me. This is only when i get another incoming phone call.
The rom i installed is for Energy Rom sense 3.5
Haha, well, if we keep posting to places like this, I guess we'll soon hit our 10 post limit
FYI for anyone that cares, I just installed CleanGB v1.1.2 (for the Epic 4G):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22241642
So far it seems pretty good. If I run into any issues, I guess I'll be posting here again xP
As already stated. There are Q&A forums for most devices. Use them.

PREFACE:
Okay, I'm sure like many of you, I'm starting to get a bit tired of development threads being turned into repetitive Q&A threads where questions go unanswered, so I thought I'd start a thread here in the PROPER section and provide a link in the official thread that (hopefully) doesn't get buried. So please, if someone keeps asking a repeat question, direct them here so proper development in that thread doesn't get buried.
SO ANYWAYS,
So far, I'll just leave this here and let it get populated, and update the OP accordingly as common issues come in. Hard to tell when exactly build 2a issues came about, because many issues were fixed (as well as found) when 2/2a was released.
IF YOU HAVE AN ISSUE
Check here first: Google Code Issue Page
This is a collaboration of all major issues that have been presented and have been fixed in major alpha updates. If you have an issue that's listed here, please don't ask about it, as it's already been acknowledged and probably already being worked on.
If you have a potential answer to any of those problems, please, feel free to post what worked for you to fix it. (After all, this is a Q&A thread, right? )
I'll try and keep this OP updated as much as I can with issues that are presented but not on the Google code page. Just thought I'd make this thread to ease a bit off the main thread and also make users' subscriptions to it actually USEFUL and not have them be notified when someone is simply asking how to get Instagram working or when we'll get sources.

Could be just me maybe I should do a fresh install. But I have noticed when I restore cm9 from recovery I miss calls an texts randomly.

I think that may actually be a problem with the rom itself. There is a known issue that cell signal drops every so often, and that may be what is causing you to miss things. One of the big reasons top doesn't recommend this as a daily driver quite yet.
Yeah LOL bit too late figuring that out...after the gf yelling I been texting an calling all day. Maybe I should actually be glad got rid of one head ache CM9 ftw

I tried to post this in the Wicked ROM thread, but seeing as I am a new user I am only allowed to post in certain areas.
Bad policy, but policy none-the-less.
Anyway, WICKED has a few flaws and it seems as though development/release of version 11 has either been delayed (unannounced), become stagnated or just all together dropped for whatever reasons.
So, basically, I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this and if not, do you know any fixes for some small issues with the ROM.
Issues:
-- Randomly stops receiving calls : I have to restart my phone to fix this and it never happened with the stock ROM.
-- Randomly likes to re-send some text messages at boot.
-- Occasionally just freezes for up to 30 seconds at a time.
-- Sometimes, you can't answer an incoming call no matter how many times you slide over the answer button.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and sorry if some of it is old questions (I did search before signing up), I do not mean to be a repeat.
Again, I'd ask in the ROM's thread... but I am not allowed to.
I have been using Wicked Rom 10 for over 3 months, and have never encountered any of the problems you mentioned. It sounds like you had a bad install, you may want to clear data/cache before you install if you didn't do so.

You can post in the Q&A forum for your device and it is much more likely to be seen by people who can help you there. So...I closed this thread, so you can repost your question in your device's Q&A forum.
Thanks!
