Do I have to super wipe the phone before updating? Kinda confused when looking at the changelog.

6.1.x needs newest ICS firmware 3.24, if your gonna flash need to update again
Yeah, it's probably a good idea to since the 6.1.0 ROM is based on a new leaked build.

Do a backup of data, do a full wipe, install ROM, then restore data only
Note, this can only be done with 4EXT recovery

OK. Thanks.
Update done.
Version 4.2.1 is faster than 4.0.0 !!
Well a bit late, you've already done it. But when I updated my Rom I didn't do full wipe. Some folks in the thread also said that. The 4.3.0 is out, you should try that too. Again no need full wipe, unless you came from version 3 or 2...
Do I need to update my kernel version before I proceed the Android 4.0 ICS?
currently I am using HTC sensation XL, android 2.3.5, kernel 2.6.35

The Kernel will be included in the ROM you install (in the boot.img) of either a custom ROM or a stock ROM
When you install the rom you will install a new kernel!

Android Revolution HD 6.X.X were really great to me!, so 6.1.0 would be amazing.
This rom would be a great choice!.
Hello,
now I have ARHD 3.6.9 on my HTC Sensation, I would like to know if I wanna install ARHD 6.1.0 / firmware 3.24, I'll be able to install later ARHD 3.6.13 on new 3.24 firmware??
Thank you in advice !!!
If you do this you will probably get bootloops.
As far as I know, you would have to flash an older firmware, because the new one is only compatible with roms built for it (ARHD 6.1 for example).
Sent from my HTC Sensation using Tapatalk
3.12 is for the first lot of ICS roms, such as ARHD 6.0.X, IC etc.. 3.24 is for ARHD 6.1.X. For gingerbread roms and to get advanced fastboot commands you need 1.17 firmware.

so it is possible to make downgrade of firmware to be able to install/run ARHD 3.6.13 ??
Yes it is possible. Just flash the firmware you want.
I believe that the guide for that is in this thread:

No the 3.24 firmware only works with the latest release. If you try gingerbread with the 3.24 firmware you will boot loop.
blackICE4.2 best rom
This rom is the best so far I have tested.
Also it has the most beautiful theme..... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1231953
I second the nomination for Virtuous Inquisition 3.0.0
Amazingly stable, excellent battery life and looks very sexy in native ICS style
This is a flashable zip of the release ICS build (3.32.401.3) for the Sensation. It was generated using the OTA package posted here by Redshark976. Devs are more than welcome to use this as a base for their ROMs.
Details:
Completely stock and remains odexed.
Rooted with the latest Superuser and su.
Insecure boot image, for proper root access.
Busybox installed in /system/xbin
This is a one time release. It is not a Virtuous ROM, because it will not be maintained and it has not been enhanced whatsoever. The ROM is intended for people who want exactly what HTC ships, with only what is necessary for root.
Note: You will need to flash the appropriate 3.32 firmware, which is located in another thread here on the forums.

Both mike1986 and I were working on this in parallel, so we figured we'd both release our work. There are minor differences between the releases (root vs non-rooted), so choose accordingly.

I have run the ota update zip on top of the 1.50.401.1 RUU before this was posted as i prefare to keep stock. Everything is fine except i am having trouble gaining root.
After several attempts i managed to flash superuser successfully but none of my apps are able to gain root access.
Is there something different included in this update to prevent root access or have you any idea how i might be able to remedy this.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Hey guys. This is awesome. Thanks to you all very much.
Question. I reverted back to stock 1.50.401.1 and remain s-off. Must I reinstall a custom recovery to flash this? I've flashed an ICS rom in the past so know about the firmware etc..
If I can flash firmware, then Rom using pg58img option that'll be sweet, Or must I use custom recovery again and superwipe also?
Thanks Again guys

hi, one question. probably a noobish one. but before a transition to some custom rom, i would like to know what is exactly needed to do in case of returning back to the stock rom. i can make nandroid backup, save the latest ota update... but still, is it enough? does the hboot allow to reflash a rom with the same hboot version? currently, i am running on the 4.0.4 stock rom. thank you in advance, fh.

You can flash a rom with same hboot version and you can return to stock by relocked bootloader, stock recovery and flashing ruu. If you want to install jb, your hboot version will change and if you want to go back to stock you have to flash jb ruu if do exist for your cid. This is in case to avoid warranty problems. If you not have this issue, for returning to stock just restore your nandroid backup
