[Q] What is the problem with facebook sync in ICS? - HTC Sensation

self explanatory.. on all ICS ROMS, facebook sync with contacts doesnt work correctly. is there a simple reason why? and any workarounds?

......................

I have never found this to be the case on sense 3.6 roms. If you're having this problem on multiple roms try a factory reset and format all partitions except sd, reflash your rom, boot up let the phone sit without doing anything to it for 5 minutes, reboot phone, set up the phone, reboot once more.
That's what I had to do to get birthdays once from facebook to sync but never contact info.

[Q] Problem with Facebook sync

I cannot sync with facebook or facebook for htc sense on proxuser's android 2.3.5 sense 3.0 rom. What can be the reason behind this? I get a message that there's a problem logging in or service is unavailable.
Rebooting usually solves this, I sometimes get it with other roms
It is working fine for me.. Try to do a Factory Reset and add the accounts again.
It worked for me most of the time after trying the new ROMs

[Q] Regarding factory wipe

Question, on my phone and my friends phone (both 4g slides) we have noticed that some things remain after doing a factory wipe/reset (both from clockwork and the bootloader).
His font changes seem static and don't get reset, and my Wireless settings stay static (my access points and keys are ALL still there after a reset).
My wireless keys stayed through a full wipe and rom flash too.
Has anyone else noticed odd things like this?
Format system and data partitions manually through CWM. Factory reset doesn't usually get them.
No, something else isn't getting cleared.
I did a complete wipe then manual format through CWM, then flashed the new .05 rom and it still connects to my secured access points.
Could it be possible that your google account is syncing it back onto the phone?

No, Google account does not sync that information. Sounds like a bad wipe. Tried flashing superwipe?

Hi. when you fill in for the first time the google account the sync of wireless etc is prechecked... but you can opt out.
Yes, Google DOES sync wireless info and passwords!

That's bull crap. Check your accounts and sync. No where does it day wifi data. Or anything along those lines. I've been flashing and wiping for a year, NEVER once does it auto connect.

Yeah, everytime i've factory reseted, I've had to re-do my wifi connections.

[Q] contact sync

Why doesn't my phone sync my contacts everytime I wipe data after flashing a rom?? All I would do after flashing was open my contacts and I'd get a few pop ups and my contacts would be there, this time I didnt get those messages and I don't have any contacts. This happened the other day too, I just reflashed and it was all set.

[Q] Sensation keeps forgetting facebook login

Got a strange issue with my sensation, a couple times a month all the pictures in my contacts are missing.....
these pics are synct from my facebook account...
When i open up my fb app after this i need to login again and re-sync my contacts.
Don't no why but it seems android or facebook won't remember my login permanent :silly:
With my One X no problem at all
Anybody??
I have the exact same problem but don't know what's causing it. I think it has something to do with an error in Android's autosync. It acts similarly to what happens to when I change my facebook password and usually occurs at times when other apps also have trouble syncing, making me think the sync error causes the facebook app to believe the authentication token it has is invalid and so it asks for your password again. This is just my best guess though. Anyone else have any ideas?

Something strange....

Hello guys,
I'm having a problem with my phone. I perform a full wipe (of everything except for bootloader) and then get the stock ICS by a RUU. When I upgraded to jellybean 4.2.2, some problems came, for example that, when I refresh the Blinkfeed page, I get the "com.htc.opensense.social has stop unexpectedly" error or the soft-touch keys don't vibrate when I touch'em. I tried to wipe again, but nothing. They are little issues, but a bit annoying. Anyone has an idea?
Im having same issue com.htc.opensocial. its a sync error for facebook or something else. I cant solve it fully
htc put facebook plugin on play store, if you see it try upgrading.
Today I've never seen it, so I hopped the problem was misteriously solved, but just five minutes ago, my homescreen freezed for some seconds after tapped on an app and it returned. It isn't a serious problem, 'cause Blinkfeed updates, but it's annoying seeing every times I refresh it this error. Looking for that plugin now...

Update:
First, I didn't find the plugin mentioned by xpirt, then I solved deleting data from facebook and facebook for HTC sense, going into Blinkfeed's option, deleting facebook's updates on it, refreshing it and, finally, re-put facebook on Blinkfeed.
