Is there a way to change the icon of app - Samsung Infuse 4G

Is the a way to change the icon of a app just using my infuse. I read how to do it on a computer kinda sounds like a pain.
I'm in the process of ripping apks I like form different roms that people have customized. I have everything ics blue and this apk I like has a red icon.
Is there a easy way to swap one icon from a apk to another? I guess if it comes down to it I can fire up the computer and do some extracting and editing. Is there a easy way to do that then. Im not exactly a noob so lay it on thick lol!

Open app with root explorer....go to res/drawable-hdpi and find your icon....replace with yours

Edit....then reboot

Make sure you rename the new icon to the same name as the old one. It's not hard to do on the computer. I use 7zip to replace them.

depending on what launcher you use, you may not have to do any drastic apk decompiling.

no de/recompile needed. just need an archive type program that can write into a compressed file. root explorer can do this.
recompiling is only needed for .9.PNG files in the theme.
also you can use 3rd party launchers.

I used root explorer when I pasted it in thar folder in ended up sending me 2 the folder the apk is in

ringdroid, very simple and easy to use
I usually make the ringtones using audacity and then copy the file to the phone.

Ringdroid is the easiest way.
+1 for Ringdroid
MP3s obviously
Garage Band if I need heavy editing
I used to use ringdroid for simple stuff... that is if the file is simple and is on my phone already

Themeing?

Howdy.. Im working on my rom, and want to theme it out... Can anybody with experience give me a quick review of themeing

All thmeming is editing files in the framework-res.apk. Part of it is editing pictures and the other half is editing XML files. Maybe more, but that's all I know.

Font.

Is it possible to change the font of everything on the phone? What i mean is have a custom font that is used for the keyboard, app names, internet, text , etc.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using XDA App
Yes under settings. What is the font as I may have an apk for it as I have a ton that I have play around with.
One i particularly like is imperatorsmallcaps. Actually what i want is a font that has all caps...but the lowers letters are just small caps, hence the name "smallcaps"

Huge collection of em here; just install em like a normal app and then change them in settings > display.

You might also TRY: Fontomizer SP available free in the market. It has lots of fonts all compatible with Galaxy phones.

I don't have it but I will try and make it for you.
Fontimizer doesn't have any good small caps fonts. Im a drafter and i use nothing but capital letters, so I've become accustomed to that look and really like the look of the capitals.
I end up using type fresh to unzipped the font i wanted and found the .ttf file and replaced the droidsans.Hebrew font.

So are you all good or still want that font?
I have uploaded the apk I made. You can just install it and change it in systems settings display if you want. I made an error in the name (it will say installing Mononglyceride) but it is the right font. I installed it on my phone to test. Don't have time to correct it right now.

I thought about trying that but wasn't sure it would work and the flipfonts changed it just fine so I never tried it. So it works fine then eh?

How do you make your own apk's?

Using apk manager and another program to convert ttf to a signed flipfont. Then just install to phone. I must have 40-50 fonts installed to fit my mood

Cant find Real Racing 2 on my phone with root explorer

I downloaded Real Racing 2 on my phone through the market.
i want to sideload it onto my tablet so i'm using Root Explorer on my Skyrocket to find it but I can not.
I am looking in Data/apps and its just not there but if i look in my app drawer its there with my other apps and I can uninstall it as well.
is this hidden somewhere?
I've looked in system/apps as well and its not there either.
i swear i'm going crazy.
Download appsaver save the game then it should be in sdcard/appsaver

Apps downloaded from the market won't appear in root explorer.
Sent from my GT-I9003 using xda premium
OR you can use MyBackup and back up your apps you want. It will appear in your external sd card!

The install name might be different from the game name... Angry birds is like that.
Sort by date maybe?

thanks guys, app saver did the trick.
i definitely scrolled very slowly and looked at each name and icon in root explorer and did not see the game anywhere

You need to learn how to decompile apks and use smali/baksmali
There is no easy way to do it. And thats the easy part. U need to know what to do once decompiled. Which is the tricky part
