I am running miui v5

try to remove any recently installed application. poorly coded application may cause this. and also download and install current widget from market this ll let u know that which application is causing drain. and then try to remove it.

Try battery calibration from market;for me is very good.

I Agree, in my case the battery performes better using battery calibration after each flash. Also the battery drain is a common bug in Test Keys v5, read the Q & A thread of MIUI V5!

some like mine...

battery calibration didn't work, only remove battery stats, take a look http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1443108

[Q] Battery Drain Research

I"m running gummy 0.6.7. I've been meaning to flash something new but I have a nice theme setup (pretty looks are important to me , everything seems to be working normal, etc. Don't have the time to redo backups and stuff right now.
I'm trying to narrow down what is causing excessive battery usage. Even if I don't OC, when in use I lose damn near 1 bar of battery a minute. This morning I was at a 100 - 35 mins later on the way to work I'm at 89. Ridic.
Brightness is auto, facebook auto-updates gone, all i'm syncing is google and an exchange box. CPU Low is at 100mhz, according to CPU Spy it spends most of its time in Deep Sleep. Tried different governors over the past couple days. GPS/Wifi was off this morning. Get TOP/ON idle stats (not TOP/OFF).. In reviewing battery stats, android os likes to be on top but I cannot get any more detailed then that. What processes run under this? I used to have an app called BetterBatteryStats that would break down process usage and report what has held wakelocks, etc but it is now paid.
What are some more detailed methods you guy can suggest to track down battery usage? Just downloaded this battery mix app a few days ago but it doesn't give me the detail I'm looking for. However, based on trending, this morning when I was at 100 it predicted 0% in 5.5 hours.
Have you tried deleting androids battery stats? It could be, especially when you just installed a new ROM that the stored stats are not accurate any more, so I would delete the battery stats, let android rebuild them and then look if the battery drop is still that much (and if it continues till the battery is empty).

so i went ahead and flashed Codename. Charged to 100, did a reset in a calibration app. Put it on charger overnight till it got back to 100. Still draining rather quickly, 10 points between taking it off in the morning and getting to work. Thats about an hour.
I think auto brightness is buggy. Try disabling it and see if problem is solved
kernels ; battery ; ROM ; gov/sched

you know.. i kinda had that feeling. it seemed to be too bright. I even went ahead and did the automatic backlight guide that has you set 25 brightness levels and it just made me bootloop. so i'll try that and report back..

well, depends on what apps you freeze,it really help in saving battery in standby time, besides freezing and remove apps,'' greenify'' is nt bad,it help u freeze active apps but once u use ur apps,it unfreeze ur apps again, saving alot of battery.
my phone 's battery only consume 1% though out all night. Of course,u have to root first to get the advantage.ps: (i never use power saving mode, and display always set to automatic)

My phone consumes about 12% overnight (using 1 of 3 power saving modes) which is terrible! I will wait for Cyanogen or other Custom rom , until then i think it is not worth to have root without changing of rom. If you want please give me some advices to increase battery life (without root if it possible)

i don't know other ways to conserve battery without using root,i thk the basic(off wifi,2g,etc) u already know. just keep the background activity to the minimum. don't waste time on task killer or 3rd party battery saver, they are useless and consume more battery(in my experience)
Get the app BetterBatteryStats. Run it for a day, use your phone like you usually would. Next day, look at the stats the app gives you.
Also, read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1827676
I, too, had a mysterious battery drain problem and tried for days to pinpoint the culprit. Turned out to be the sd card. I reformatted the card and the drain was gone.

Best way to save battery drain is to be rooted dude.
Install cpu-no frills (or set cpu) and select maximun spped to 1,2 and minimum speed at 312Mhz in ondemand and cfg.
Choose your network mode at 2G
Brithness at minimum or a half an it's for sure that your phone will be 2 days longer

[TIPS] Long Lasting Battery.. if battery drain fast

If you face problem with battery.. draining like hell..
then these tips are for you....
1. Battery Calibration
2. Control Apps
3. Device Setting
1. Battery Calibration
Don't use any application..
Just charge your battery till 100%.. (if stuck on 99% for long time.. no problem) just Restart your phone
without remove charger..Important
after restart (battery show 60 to 98%. leave it on charge again till 100% + 2 hrs. more
Then remove from charger & use phone until battery drain to 0% and switch-off itself
Don't recharge between 100 to 0%.. then try to restart at least 3 time.. to sure drain battery completely
now connect your phone to charger.. after 10 minutes start your phone.
but don't remove your charger till battery goes 100%...Important
(sometime it take more than 4-5 hrs. so better in night) When battery goes 100% ...now you done Calibration..
Technically..
on every restart Android reset Battery (by wipe battery status)
So.. on 100% Android make Maximum level - on 0% minimum level
P.S. Do this calibration on every ROM flash or at-least one time a month..
2. Control Apps
Some Application consume battery do much..
i.e. Facebook, Youtube, Maps, Whatsapp, Viber, Yahoo! Mail / Messenger, Skype, Hotmail.com, etc.
so when you don't use these apps (running in background) kill them from
setting > apps > RUNNING click on apps > Stop..
Better use Browser Bookmark instead applications
i.e. Facebook, YouTube, Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo Messenger, Outlook,
It help to save your RAM also..
3. Device Setting
lowest brightness..
lowest screen timeout
Close WiFi if no need
Close Data Conn. if no need.
Close Bluetooth if no need.
Close GPS if no need.
try to use dark backgrounds..
Try these tips then tell me how your battery work
Sorry for horrible & terrible English

Also you can use, deep sleep battery (free or pro) to reduce the number of screen off wake ups.
this will help you to prolong the battery quite a fair bit.

yep. it does.
i m doing these things before this post and normally i get 2-2.5 days backup of battery.
However ROM is also a factor. my previous rom used to give me 1-1.5 days(1.5 on very less usage.)
but my current rom is giving me atleast 2 days

[Q] battery drain in KitKat

Since I updated to KitKat 4.4.4 carbon ROM
I've been facing battery drain while using WiFi mostly not during sleep
I tried doing everything I could to stop it
Disabling Google play services from time to time... Using greenify
Freeing up ram ...battery saving mode
Disabling wake up for apps from app ops
Now I use it for 2 hours and it uses 40 percent of the battery with the lowest brightness though
Please give me suggestions or fixes
Thnx

20% a hour isn't a to drastic drain of battery if your gaming or heavy programs ?
I got extemely good battery life from 4.4.4r1 CARBON ROM was your battery life the same on the previous ROM before you came to CARBOM ROM ?
I would go to the dev section and ask if this is normal for all the issues your are having

[Q] Battery drain issue on Cyanogenmod 11

Hello guys
I recently installed Cyanogenmod 11 on my Xperia L and I noticed that the battery drains very fast compared to stock. I searched this problem and it appears to be a deep sleep issue, but i don't really found out how to solve it. My battery stats show a great consumption on Google Play services and Display, so I guess it fits the deep sleep problem. I tried disabling some services, but i don't really know which one since i am kinda noob at this.
If anybody could provide a clear and detailed solution, that would be great. Thank you.

Use the greenify app from playstore
I don't think that would solve much. I installed better battery stats and these are the ones causing battery drain:
Awake
Wifi On
Wifi Running
No Data Connection
No or unknown signal
All these have 100% at battery consumption. Greenify only allows me to put to hibernation apps like Facebook, Messenger or so.
So... any other ideas?
