I recently started encountering a strange problem.my date signal shows its there (Edge) but none of my browsers, mail accounts, sync, Facebook or any apps dependent on internet would work. I have to then put my phone on flight mode and back on to regain the data signal. Every one hour or so my signal gets lost.I am from India and using 2.3.5 with a Ardadats kennel. Please suggest. Thank you!
Bro I have the same problem on airtel. I have 3gigs of 3g data which i can't use because of this . . .
Though when I inserted my loop sim it works on WAP. I have raised the issue with airtel which has assured me a call back within 5 days with a resolution(I know thats routine but lets give them a chance.) :-|
Is there anyone from India who is not facing a similar issue ?

Hey buddy, it appears that this is a network problem. I found some S2 owners having this problem but its still not clear where the problem lies.

Thanks for the setting's screen shots buddy . . .
I have the same settings but for an obvious difference of MNC but still can't connect in whatsoever I try . . .
So I am gonna visit a nearby Airtel gallery and give it a try, will update it here what follows. I hope they already know a fix so I don't have to sit there and watch them playing with the settings menu of my cell.

I'm pretty sure its a network problem. I'm on BSNL and everything works fine.

I got my phone a couple of days ago. I have been using airtel 3G and seen no issues. My settings are also same (except for MNC) as @raghavafitt.

Hi buddy, got the isssue resolved, looks like there was some issue from the airtel's side which they finally cleared it after complaining to them 3 times.
And now I have 3G access.

i m on titanium 2.1 and sensation theme..
few hrs back my network got lost no calls no messeges,no internet...
tried everything ,no luck
phones IMEI is intact..
so i reflashed titanium rom again but still no luck !!
then i flashed indian stock version ,still no luck !!
tried to manully select network but no luck...
(everything works fine in wcdma mode,but there is a signal problm in my place so i need to go with 2g mode)
will go to service centre tomorrow

I faced the exact same issue 4 days back on Friday. Even i flashed Titanium and then stock ROM to no avail. But then after a couple of hours, it connected to the n/w automatically. I still dunno what was the issue, probably something to do with the service provider? Did u try a different providers SIM?

Dud your cell worked with another sim?

It could be a network problem. Check with other network providers and also flash stock ROM back to see if it still persists.
Do update here on the progress.

By the time I could get hold of another SIM, the network came back. And the factory reset happened unintentionally I read about a code to reset the phone and dialed it and it flashed USB as well!! So i went ahead and flashed stock FW, Titanium, GLX-R, Lidroid Roms one by one... But still "Mobile network not available".
Finally after a couple of hours it connected on its own. I have a strong feeling that its something to do with the network like cooleagle said. Try out a diff SIM and let us know. Gud luck

actually the funny part is that in india (maharashtra),airtel uses 3g services of vodafone n idea,so my 3g signal is ok..
i called custemer care excutive n he said it ll b ok after some time,now wating...

Dude I'm on vodafone and had the same issue.. So the bottomline is all the networks suck

actually vodafone is better...
btw u can try idea its giving 3g internet in 2g pack ,for 149 rs ull get 2gb of data...
some of my frns r using it...

Idea plans are good but u hardly get signal dude.. especially in my office... In fact they offer 6GB of 2g usage for just Rs. 95.. (vodafone offers 1GB for 95 ).. But whats the point when there is no network??

after this month end ,i m going to change carrier..
n one night passed no network on 2g
called airtel care,they told ill be fixed on 3 may !!

Same prob here and also in south india airtel network down. Give a try to docomo they provide cheap but best service. I m happy with their data packages none other carrier is providing 5 gb data @800 rs (7.2 mbps band).

yes i want to go with airtel 3g but i m not able to select 3g because of less network of airtel 3g ...
and yes this is priblm in airtel...
but its only in my region...
i m now in airtel office and there is no problem here....
Hey Sensation community !
Since 2 days my mobile network stopped working, I tried ALOT of "solutions" which I found here but all of them didn't help at all...I even flashed a new rom + fireware, radio, etc...
I used the search function before I started this thread but I only found little threads with like 3-5 replys and they weren't even usefull - even outdated.
So to be more detailed, my mobile network icon pops up nomally after turning it ON but only the upload arrow is filled which means if I open the browser or any app it won't work cause there's actually no connection to the internet.
I checked my APN which is fine. Most of the people say : Fix your APN and it should be fine. - Great -_-
Phone informations:
HTC Sensation
ROM: Android Revolution HD 6.7.2 by mike1986
Adroid 4.0.3
HTC Sense 3.6
I'd appreciate it if somebody could help me fixing this annyoing issue.

Nope, as I said, I even wiped my phone new rom, new firmware, new radio and new kernel.
I'm having the same issue, flashed cm9 last night, everything was fine and working then this afternoon at about 2 my phone says no service. I put the sum card in a different phone and it still didn't work. I'm T-Mobile UK but phone is normally connected to T-Mobile/orange network

They all fine.
One more thing to say.
If I'm using "GSM only" the internet works but it's hekka slow -_- As soon as I switch to GSM / WCDMA auto "H" shows up only with the upload arrow on and the internet stops working.
Guess nobody knows how to fix this crap.... :/
I tried putting the sim in a different phone and it still didn't work. Might be a sim card issue or Tmobile are having trouble, for me anyway

I spent 4 days trying to diagnose this same kind of issue once only to find out that my data plan had been accidentally deleted from my account.
2 minute phone call and everything was working again.

As I thought my problem was with my network provider. The phone seems to have reconnected to the network and I am receiving texts and calls again. Hope you get your issue sorted.

I can be pretty sure it's not the SIM cause I tested it on a UMTS/HSDPA Surf-stick and the internet works with it. It has to be the phone itself.

If I change my network mode to GSM only the internet works but you guys know, its terribly slow. As soon as I switch to WCDMA only the upload arrow is highlighted and nothing works... Hope somebody can help me out -_-

I meant WiFi thethering. My mobile network works only, if i use it for WiFi tethering. As long as i use the mobile network only on the phone, it doesn't work...

And nope, that didn't worked for me... So my net is screwed up
I have been using a tipo dual for like two months now, i earlier used a 3g data connection and the phone worked fine. now i have a 2g data connection and when i connect on my 2g sim , the phone shows no signal on the other 2g sim. The problem apparently is that the phone has a bug that does not support two parallel 2g connections, one 3g and other 2g works fine.
Is that a hardware issue or a software issue?

Are you on the latest firmware? Sony might have fixed it. Note that if you upgrade you may lose root, you'll have to downgrade again for that.
Can't say much about custom rom but you can always request for a fix from its dev.

Yes, i am on the latest firmware. and there are like a hundred posts on talk.sonymobile about the same problem, with no working solution.

Yup 3g on 2nd sim and 2g on first ... Working f9.wait for stable custom rom then flash it...
And for data it is not activated all the time, same problem in my frnds sg2 so thts nt phones problem.

you are right bro i have also voice call problem in my tipo but when i check my sim in other phone i talk with no problem and when i check all other sims in my phone my phone seems ok with no issue so finally i got the reason .......the reason is ...in vodafone network during talking to some one the network bars is up and down and this action is taken by network and this cause voice celerity down but in other phones like nokia .. there is no problem with network however the network bars is up and down in nokia also... i check band wise seems like 900mhz and 1800mhz so if some one have any idea about this please focus on this...

this is or may be a network issue. with my vodafone call disconnects after 60mins every time and happens in all handsets , used to face this wen i talk for hours
try calling up customer care and ask about the issue

Its a problem even in Vodafone my bro is using canvas 4 he has the same problem
It's a problem with all prepaid connections! And ya good idea to use headsets, specially for such long calls..

My ATRIX 2 is not able to register on airtel network. I used a number of different aim of airtel. But pro elm is remain same. I was on mini rom when problem start. After that flash gb 2.3.6. And ics retail asia. But problem is remain same in both the roms.
Please help
Please also tell me what is difference between asian retail and asia operator rom.

Is the phone registering with other network sims???
and are you on the stock ROM or are you using a custom one coz u said you were using miui ???
a little more details on the problem would be helpful ..............

I m using stock rom now
problem occur when I was
on miui rom
phone works on other networks easly

but the problem remain the same in gb also
now i m on ics retail asian rom but the probelm is same

It makes no sense that only airtel wouldn't work with your phone but other networks will..........
Did you maybe try to change the sim or goto the service center because as your saying its not the same problem

i used other airtel sim of my friends
but the problem is same with all airtel sim

maybe some problem with the base band settings.....but it can't be bcoz other sims are working fine
can't seem to really understand why??
does airtel show up on the network list when you go for a manual search ???
Developer settings
Try this
Open dialer> type *#*#4636#*#*
wait 2-5 seconds, special menu opens. In phone settings press menu key & select auto registration. Additionally for band select WCDMA preferred if you want phone to bounce between Edge & 3G in case you have opted for 3G plan. 3G uses more battery and if you necessarily need 3G all the time select WCDMA only or if you need only Edge select GSM only.
This overrides your regular settings as available in normal menu setting irrespective of whatever is selected. As much as I hate it but the truth is Atrix 2 not the AT&T version definitely has poor network radio reception. Also if your area bounces you between Roaming (local) which is not charged as roaming by Airtel and normal home network it gets worse. I have to stick to a certain room or position which I have identified will not drop my call else I got people always complaining & me fed up as well that call reception is sketchy. It isnt so bad in open area but I really wish someone would really work on India specific Radio image improvement tweaks. Then there is this really annoying problem of Data disconnecting when network goes in to roaming (when on home network but due to a certain tower) though data roaming is activated for roaming. Have to re-enable it a zillion times. This is on JB 4.1.2 leak 1. I tried droid FROAM app by a user who developed it for droid but no dice. On custom PA RC-2 this roam issue data disconnect is solved though but then radio remains weak and also status bar shows no signal bar but when quick settings tiles are pulled down the network tile shows the true reception being received. Another issue in PA is though that in normal menu only 3G option I cannot find and I can enable it only through the developer secret menu

cureently my phone is in motorola center. but they are unable to detect the problem . so they send my phone to main center. lets see wht happen

Its not a problem with your cell phone from what i can see bcoz all the SIM's and carriers in India use the same band settings so its something
to do with your airtel specific settings that are not working.........Have you tried to goto the airtel shop....show them??
And btw have you tried changing the band settings from the special menu

when i get my phone back i try special menu at that time
I got my phone back frm motorola center.
They said that there is requirement of change the motherboard. Of phone for the proper functioning of phone.but the phone is too old. Thats why motherboard is not available.
I tried the developer option *#*#4636#*#*. But problem not solved
