[Q] Problems with Tab 7.7's VPN Client - Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus

Have anyone tried connecting to VPN servers on their Galaxy Tab 7.7?
I have tested more than 3 VPN servers. (They all work on PC, iPhone, iPad, Tab 10.1, Tab 8.9, HP TouchPad). When I try to connect them on Galaxy Tab 7.7, it connects successfully but fail to let me do anything once the connection is made.
I have created 2 test accounts and please feel free to test it using them or your own servers... let me know how it go...
BTW, I tried restoring. no help at all.
PPTP Server 1: pptp.vpn2.hk
PPTP Server 2: pptp.vpn2.us

Password: samsung1234
William

I just connected to pptp.vpn2.us with my GT7.7 from UK.
Glad you posted this as I can't link to my server but at least I know now it must be some settings I've got wrong.

have you tried surfing to some sites after you successfully made the connection?
i can connect but my tab 7.7 just refuse to let me go anywhere afterward.

Tab 7.7 is in a different forum.

NETFLIX for the 7" Galaxy Tab GT-P1010 {CONFIRMED WORKING}

I was over on the Samsung Intercept threads on SDX Developers Forums and I saw the below thread linked from there. I figured if it worked for the Moment and the Intercept that it was worth a try on my WiFi only Galaxy Tab. And, IT WORKED!!!
The resolution wasn't great, the sound volume was low, and it was a little choppy...but it worked!! I just watched about 15 minutes of the movie Kick Ass to test it out and it was working!
I don't know if it will work with the GSM or CDMA versions of the Galaxy Tab because I only have the WiFi only version, the GT-P1010. I have FroYo 2.2.1 running on my rooted Galaxy Tab.
Credit needs to go to the original person that posted this. I did not develop this or have anything to do with it. I am merely passing on the information.
Since I don't meet the requirements yet for minimum posts...I can't post a link.
If you head over to SDX Forums and look under "Tablets" --> "Samsung Galaxy Tab" --> "Tab -Development" --> and then you'll see my NETFLIX post.

Here is a dropbox link for the apk.

Confirmed stock Vzw 3g tab
The program said it needed an update and when I clicked the link it showed it in the market. The update fixed my low volume. Working great.
I guess it's a moot point now that it's in the Android Market for all devices running 2.2 and 2.3.

Hooray! Confirmed working on my P1010 tab. Awesome share!!
Both the apk and the one in the market gives me an error, the app opens and i can access my account and movies, but when trying to actually watch a movie i get something along the lines: "Your device needs to be updated to watch instantly from netflix. Visit the manufacturer or netflix/NRD to obtain more information"
At this point im not sure if its because im outside USA (we just got netflix a couple of days ago) and android is just not supported here yet or if its something about my device.
Im running rooted gingerbread on a verizon CDMA Galaxy Tab 7".
How about using ip hide and set ur country as usa then try configure back ur netflix. Give it try man.

Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus

Just received my 7 Plus wifi. So far I like it, although there doesnt seem to be a lot of interest from xda or other forums. Since it was just released today, I suppose I need to be a bit patient. This is the closest forum so I am adding this post here.
I really need a root and adhoc fix so I can use it with my ET4G and sell my ipad!. Also I want to hide the status bar. I may dig into it attempting the 10.1 or 8.9 root, but I have a bit of reading to do on it first.

Hi there! Can you provide us with a system dump from your tablet? We can help with rooting.

+1 on this , this question is asked allot without any answer and also the benifit of the infrared port , but @the OP are you sure it is the 7plus it is not released yet
Edit : i found the link http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galax...333M/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1320309207&sr=8-2
I ordered it expecting it in about 10 more days or so. Lo and behold I got a shipping notice yesterday.
I have read that it uses the tegra2 processor, but I see no evidence of that. And now I attempt to find it on the web and it is nowhere to be seen.
I will definitely work on getting a system dump tonight after work. I might ask for some help onthis.

The main thing is that you are helping us to get ICS on SGS2, and I Thank you for that. I really hope that you will get us the system dump.
From what i have read, all i need to do is get the sdk installed along with kies, and adb copy system(yea i know, not exact command) One question:do i need to factory reset to protect my personal data?
I may even get this done before tonight at work

I tried a 1280x720 mkv encode with h264 part10 (avc1) with a AC3 audio track and the default video player sliced through it like bu-bu-butter even after fast forwards etc. Oh and it looked beautiful.
If thats not what you wanted let me know.
So now that the 7 plus has had its system dumped, who is gonna help me root this thing this weekend?
Very nice man.
Congrats on your purchase.
I want to sell my 10.1 but would like a bigger screen than the 7 plus but with Exynos.

Thanks, I like it, but I hope development catches on like the acer iconia a100. I would have liked to opt for the 7.7, but I read its not coming to the states and the pricetag will likely be heftier.
I bought it thinking it had a tegra2 but was elated to find it has the exynos.
I think, if I weren't already awaiting the HD SAMOLED+ awesomeness of the 7.7" tab, I'd probably sell my 8.9 now and get a 7 Plus. I've been saying all along that the Exynos is a beast. Tegra2 is a huge disappointment for me...
P.S. I've seen preorders from Expansys and Mobile City of ~$600 - 700 for the 7.7 import. Have my 3G 7.7 preordered now from Expansys. Oh baby! Can't wait!

[Q] selective wifi

I have a TF300 with keyboard, latest firmware. I use wifi at work, at hotels, family members houses, airports, airplanes, tethering from my S3 and many other places and it works great.
I have a D-link wireless access point 802.11n at home with the latest firmware. I connect 2 laptops, a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, 2 kindles, 2 Samsung Galaxy S3's and a HTC Evo. I also have frequent guest that sometimes connect.
All of that works fine but when I try to connect my TF300 to my home network, it causes problems every time. It usually involves at least 2 reboots of the wap as well as a reboot of the tf300 and forgetting the network and re-adding it. I also have the D-link on a timer that reboots it every day.
I was going to purchase a new WAP and try that, but I thought I would ask first to see if anyone had any ideas as to what could be going on. It has been like this for 4 months since I brought home my tf300.
Thank you.

[Q] Packet Injection - Any Support?

I've been doing a little digging but haven't pulled anything up off the bat. Does anyone know if the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (GT-P5113 specifically) supports packet injection? I'm going to be looking into this but maybe someone can save me the time and trouble. Do any of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2's support it!? From time to time, I do pentesting on my local, at home network.

Try this app. I have not used it myself so I don;t know if it works or not.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ot.semba.packetinjection&hl=en
Might require custom kernel or wifisupplicant to enable direct access to the network adapter kernel-mode driver., dunno.....

Goo.im Connection Problems...

I hope this helps someone...
I've been running Mmuzzy's 4.2.2 (FV) on my Toro since its inception, but recently I tried to access a file on Goo.im and could not connect. After a lot of searching, I discovered that the fine UVerse folks at AT&T had recently done something that changed the DNS properties on my modem/router. I can't change the DNS properties of my AT&T hardware, so I made some adjustments to my PC's network settings.
Search "Google Public DNS" and it will lead you to your answer, or PM me since I can't post external links yet.
P.S. Look who only has 9 more posts to make before being granted access to the Developer's Forum!
Thanks for this. I have att uverse and was suddenly getting the same issues with my wifi. I am also running Mmuzzys 4.2.2.

Can't reach it either. Hate att but its included in rent so I put up with it. Thanks.
Changed the router settings. Along with the att router in the office I have my own router (an Asus that runs dd-wrt Linux, its so win) so I just changed the DNS in it to Google's. Which is super easy to remember, 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
