Hi everybody i'm an happy owner of samsung gt i5800 /galaxy mini / galaxy 3.whatever
my phone is 100% clean like just bought so android v 2.1
i would like to upgrade it to froyo and put a new rom on it but i'm a bit nub about phones, i tryied to root it with several programs but didn' worked, can somebody kindly explain me what should i do and wich rom should i put on when i will able to root it?
thanks in afford
buddy.....u can root it using SUPERONECLICK ... but since you are on eclair(2.1) i wud suggest you root it wid Z4ROOT application which is available on the market or you can also download the apk from internet...Z4ROOT works nicely on 2.1 and after you have rooted your phone ...u can upgrade it to froyo by flashin 2.2 firmwares from herehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1125387 and this should help you but since you are new to this i wud suggest you to find a tutorial on youtube before flashin ..... hope this helps
Flashing doesn't require root. Just put your phone in download mode, connect it to your PC(with your drivers installed so your phone can be detected), launch Odin, tick 1 package, choose your rom thru one package and start flashing. Just follow instructions and it will be fine. All roms are prerooted. Check the features. Some are gingerbread, some are froyo.
Cheers

Download any 2.2 custom or stock firmware.
Go to download mode. Flash it.
No need to root. Every custom rom is pre-rooted.
If it is stock rom, use superoneclick, assuming it is froyo 2.2
ok thank you gonna try as soon as i can, one more thing how can i install latest drivers for samsung kies?

You can download the stock jpu tar file which is available in the Android development section and flash it via Odin
Before doing so I recommend you to wipe data, dalvik cache, etc., just to ensure you don't get bootloops
Just reboot your phone normally and it will be factory fresh
If you don't wanna lose data try not wiping data partition but if you do end up in bootloops then you won't have recovery to wipe it

You can download any firmware of your wish (I recommend jpu) from the given link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22532034
If the links are dead try jpu links by others which can be found by searching

Your in a value pack firmware, guess you stick in there just root it. Install KIES then install odin google it then download bagaria.tar here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351056 go to download mode by pressing volume down + home + power then connect to pc then odin must recognize ur phone click PDA then browse bagaria.tar. Your now rooted.

You're on the value pack . Just flash Bam Kernel on your current firmware . You'll find the kernel in the Developing Section . It will root your phone .
Currently DDLF2 is the best . You can try CM9 or RemICS rom. But i think you should wait for a little longer till full CM9 is released.

Then try Z4Root, SRSRoot, SuperOneClick.
Enough possibilities
But do you know how they work?
using odin....
While I googled I found, Chain Fire odin flashing is the most popular for my phone. But it seems to be varying for each firmware version. And for my 19300XXEMA5 I cant find any method or cf root .md5 file. Thats why I seeked xda....
Again thanks for helping....:good:

Yes, SRSRoot is definitely safe, I used 3 times to root a device, twice it didn't do it and nothing bad happened, so it's safe.
It's a universal one click root program for android 4.0 or higher.
Link to SRSRoot site: http://www.srsroot.com/
Don't forget to enable usb-debugging and install the correct drivers for your device.
Hope it'll work now
