Does the G-tab 10.1 hdmi adapter work on this tablet? if not, then what about the hdtv adapter.
If you search the accessories threads, I believe this had been answered.

Is it possible to get the SII MHL Adapter working with our SI?
I saw this video with SII and MHL ....
I believe it's a hardware question so no go. Does this adapter come with sgs2? How much is it if not?
Hi, i recently bought the hdtv adapter(EPL-3PHPBEGINU) for my galaxy tab 7.0 plus and i was very disappointed when i connected it to my TV(Sony Bravia KLV-40NX500) and nothing came up. Did a lot of googling, went through forums but couldn't find what's going wrong.
In the manual of hdtv adapter it is mentioned that tv should support anynet+(HDMI-CEC) , my tv has sony's own branding of HDMI-CEC(Bravia sync). I also came across forums where they mentioned sony bravia TVs worked fine with samsung mhl adapters.
Anyone who has used the hdtv adapter, please share your experience.
When i connect hdtv adapter to tab, there is sound that dock is connected and also tab screen refreshes. And yes i have connected my charging cable to mhl adapter and phones charges off it.
I am using a HDMI 1.4 cable to connect from adapter to tv.
I am running stock ICS 4.0.4 on my tab.

While connecting the HDTV adapter power adapter also should be plugged in. Please check and tell. I'm also waiting to buy the same adapter. i have a samsung gt-p6200
I think EPL-3PHPBEGSTA and EPL-3PHPBEGINU are same item. I think INU stands for india. In samsung india and samsung US sites the part number is shown as EPL-3PHPBEG if you search for EPL-3PHPBEGSTA and EPL-3PHPBEGINU.
Hi,
i bought the same adaptor and my tv is panasonic. It didnot work with the hdmi cable i had, a cheap one. I bought a new belkin 2mtr hdmi cable nw it is working for me.

I can't seem to get video to play on TV with HDMI from the S3.
I bought an aftermarket HDMI on eBay and I plug it in while video playing and nothing happens.
Do I need a Samsung specific cable? Or any tips?
Thanks

So, I also had a similar issue recently. I bought one by Skiva that came up in an S3 search. Turns out, works for Galaxy S, S2, but not S3. The S3 uses a different interface for MHL than the previous S models.
I eventually caved and dropped $30 on a Samsung S3 -> HDMI adapter. Adapters to make it function with legacy MHL interfaces are available, I believe. Just make sure they claim (and are reputable about it) working with the S3.
EDIT: Also, if your tv's HDMI interface isn't "HDCP Compatible" (recent TV's use a handshaking protocol for basically DRM) it will either receive no signal or a black screen, and the device will claim it is outputting video normally.
Which adapter did you buy?
As sworld pointed out, the S3 uses a different MHL setup than older phones. It uses an 11-pin connector, where the standard 5 USB pins remain for USB, but deeper inside the S3's connector are 6 more pins to be used with MHL.
If the adapter you bought only has 5 pins then you'll need to buy an 11-pin to 5-pin adapter. Then your MHL adapter will work.
Hey guys u was wondering about getting a MHL 2.0 adapter. I mistakenly ordered one from amazon that doesn't work(apparently Samsung uses a different pin arrangement?)
Will any GS3 mhl adapter work but still need an auxiliary charging port? Or is there a specific MHL 2 adapter that I will need?

I am curious as well, ran across the same issue.
maybe this will help.

The Galaxy S3 and Note 2 MHL adapter works. It will not charge your phone while it works, but it works. To charge your phone at the same time, you have to attach the charger to the MHL adapter.
The MHL adapter for the S2 will not work with the S3 or S4 unless you get the 5 pin to 11 pin connector.
The S4 MHL adapter (which is twice the price of the S3 one) will charge your phone when connected to the TV without an additional adapter. It also has a higher refresh rate (60) vs the S3's MHL adapter (24).
The S4 MHL adapter is also backwards compatible, but still needs a charger attached to it to charge your phone at the same time.
It all depends on your needs and your willingness to pay.
Anyone has use the mhl 3.0 hdtv adapter? It said that the power cable is not required? Anyone tested it? It also can send image to the tv at more resolution that 1080P.
Hey,
I don't know if this will help, but in my first week of owning the GNE I tried to connect it to my television using a mhl 1.0 adapter I got off of eBay. It needed the charging cable to power the adapter, but overall it didn't work. I read somewhere online, that a Samsung brand television is required, or maybe not? I have an Bose television, which is not that popular, but if someone on here can get it to work on a non-Samsung brand television using a mhl 3.0 adapter, let me know.
Thank you for your time and for reading.

I have an MHL 1.0 adapter (Samsung brand) that works fine with my Galaxy S3 and Note 10.1 (2014) tablet, but doesn't work with my Note Edge. Definitely something different between the two technologies.
I actually picked up an MHL cable form Amazon last week. I've used a few different brands, and they've always been unreliable - I'm including Samsung's here, which failed in less than a week (!) because of poor construction.
This one's worked pretty well for me so far! I've used it with my Note 10.1 as well as my Note Edge and my only real complaint is the shortness of the cable. You'll have to have a wall outlet pretty closeby or an extension cable in order to use this thing with either of the devices I mentioned. Or you can do what I did and just hook up one of those portable batteries you can get just about anywhere now.
I can't post links yet, but if you look up "Rankie MHL", youll find it.

I own samsung official mhl 3.0 cable. I connected my note 4 with a 4k philips tv and played some 4k samples from lg tv's. Philips TV reported the signal as 2k at info section.
P.S. I have not connected external power surce to mhl adapter
I just use a Belkin Miracast HDMI adapter... works great with the Edge.
