Curious if anyone knows if the Standard Dock with Rapid Wall Charger for the Droid Bionic (89497N) will work with the Atrix 2?
The reason I ask is because it seems that one of the other dock accessories is made to be compatible with both phones ("Motorola 89508N Battery Dock with HW4X Battery and Rapid Wall Charger for DROID BIONIC and ATRIX 2)
Anyone have any luck with this?
Thanks,
Rick
OK.. Well, the standard dock for the Bionic does NOT fit... HOWEVER...
Motorola has re-designed the HD docks, and now offers a universal dock that fits a bunch of models.. I picked up the 89512N...
Motorola ATRIX 2 MB865
Motorola DROID 3
Motorola DROID 4
Motorola DROID Bionic
Motorola DROID X2 MB870
Motorola Electrify
Motorola Photon 4G
Motorola Xyboard 10.1
Motorola Xyboard 8.2
There appear to be two models: 89512N, which is simply the "HD Dock", and includes an HDMI out port on the back, as well as an audio out, and a power adapter.
There is also the 89511N, which is the "HD Station". That includes HDMI out, audio out, 3 USB ports (for Webtop), and a power adapter.
89512N is priced around $49, and the 89511N is priced around $99

Will either of these fit the phone with the Otterbox Defender Case? Assuming not does any one know a dock that will?

Webtop hack, bluetooth KB + mouse and your standard charger is the only real option if you don't want to be taking the case off all the time. It's not a bad setup really.
So why didn't the Bionic dock work, did it not line up or something else, cause some of them are dirt cheap.

Doesnt fit/line up
Thats weird since the new dock says it fits Bionic and Atrix 2, I wonder if they have put some play in the connectors on the new universal dock.

Does anyone know of a good Car mount for the Optimus V? I prefer with with a micro usb plug built in so that I can just push my phone in place and drive. I've seen the generic phone holders but those are not that appealing.
Thanks!
There's a topic here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=949476
Unfortunately there is no holder with a micro usb plug built in.
its kind of a hack...
I have/had Motorola Droid 1s.
I found that with a skin/gel thing that you can get at the sprint store for the optimus, the VM - Optimus V, actually fits into the legacy moto droid GPS clip,
as well as the holster that the verizon store used to sell for the droid 1.
in any case... we drove around bumpy philly all day with it yesterday without any surprise ejections...

Thanks for the tip, but the power plug for the Droid is on the side. Any Droid car mount I get will have the power in the wrong location.
You got me thinking and I did find this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0043EV24W
It has a built in micro-usb plug, but the only problem is that the EVO is about a quarter inch wider than the Optimus. I'm not sure it the fit will be snug enough for a drive.
I recently ordered a Droid Bionic phone to start new Verizon Wireless service. What exactly is included in the box with the Motorola Vehicle Navigation kit? I'm asking this because I'm under the impression that there are several different versions of the kit being sold. I've heard that the dock sold through Verizon does not include a rapid charger. I've heard that the version sold on Amazon's website does not include the Y adapter for connecting the Droid Bionic to a car stereo's AUX input. I'm very confused and would like to know if I should spend the extra money to buy it directly from Motorola or if I'm safe to buy it somewhere else for less. Motorola's website doesn't say what's in the box and their live chat reps won't tell me either.
Just wondering if the PQLTE is compatible with the P4G car dock by Motorola. I see P4G's are running for $21 (and also comes with charger and cables) on Amazon, while the PQ's is running for $48.

I wouldn't think so...I own both phones and the Q has the ports at a different location on the side of the unit...but hey, why use the dock??? Just use the cables, cut the plugs for the USB and HDMI out of the dock and plug them in! Would that work?

I bought the PQ LTE nav dock off ebay.
Funny, looking on the motorola website there is no dock listed for this phone. There are some docks it looks like would work with the phone though. It obviously all depends on the where the ports are located but I think some othe rmoto docks may be interchangable. Hopefully someone more knowledgable can chime in.
The part number of the original 'Vehicle Navigation Dock For Motorola Photon Q' by Motorola is KPM5778Q.
Yes, it's not listed on Motorola pages any more.
I'm using one and I'm very happy with it.

Thanks for the part number I looked for it earlier briefly to no avail.
I have had both phones and can tell you that the original photon and the lte docks look mostly the same but the connectors are in different positions. I think the one for the original was actually a little better constructed too. FYI i just did a search on amazon for photon q car dock and it was there for $50
You don't need to go through Moto to get it anyway....I got mine cheaper through an online retailer. This is the cheapest place I can find it right now via a Google Shopper search:

I was told by a VeeZeeDub rep that our phones are supposed to be able to use the charging pads as long as they're of qi compliance... Anyone ever try this? Any special setting on the phone need to be enabled? Got one for Xmas, doesn't seem to be working.
Hmmmm this phone isn't capable of wireless charging...

Yeah, probably not going to work too well for you.
Thanks, looks like I have a return to make...
Update... So I happened to be at the mall, went to the VeeZeeDub store, and asked the rep about the wireless charging. She laughed and said it wasn't possible on our phones, then looked it up and was surprised that it actually is possible, as long as the pad is qi compatible (turns out the droid 4 is as well, she happened to mention as an aside). Stated that I probably had either a bad pad or should try a different brand (stated that the Nokia and LG pads were recommended by Motorola).
Just in case anyone was curious 8)
Umm, I'm pretty sure the phone is not capable of this. Maybe the new droids are, but not the HD.
Lifeasadroid, thanks for checking with VZW about this. I think that they are incorrect, though. The spec sheets for the RAZR HD and HD Maxx don't list inductive charging. All of the articles I found which compare the 2012 and 2013 Droids list wireless charging only for the 2013 models.

Motorola used to be the one company that you could rely on to have car docks, home docks, and other accessories for every phone they released. The OG Droid, the Droid X, the Bionic, all of those had docks available at the same time as the phone. Where are the docks for the new Moto X? I can't even find any 3rd party docks. My docks for the old Moto X don't really work all that well, so now I'm left with nothing.
Anyone know of any good docks, home or car?

There's a number of fine universal docks that look to be the solution for this phone. I googled it and searched Amazon top sellers to see several options, mostly aesthetic taste which you buy.
