Asus Stock Apps - Eee Pad Transformer Themes and Apps

Okay, this is going to sound weird, but im looking for the asus stock apps, particularily mylibrary. I installed revolver and then to my horror, titanium i guess had skipped over those apps in the backup process. So, if someone would be so kind as to fwd me the relevant apks, I'd be quite grateful.

install revolver app from the market and you can download from there

Install revolver parts from market. then from "Others" section in Revolver Parts, download Revolver Removed Apps then flash downloaded image.
This will restore thosse apps. Good luck!

If you don't want to use Revolver Parts, you can get the "Asus Remove apps" here

Ah, thank you. i had seen that option the other day, but the way its worded, i thought it actually removed those apps.

Can't remove an app

I installed an app from the market but can't uninstall it. The program is PressReader. Does anyone have trouble with this app. And how do I go about deleting it off the device completely?
Pressreader is a pre-installed app so it sounds like you have mistaken updating it from the market as installing a fresh version. You can't uninstall /remove pre-installed apps in the rom unless you have rooted your device.

Really...ypu possitive it's preinstalled on the transformer? Cause I swore I downloaded it. It had the install button when I went to the market. It also had an uninstall button after it's been installed, but doesn't do anything. Uninstalling will show the "install" button back when you visit the pressreader page. Oh well...may have to root it later at some point
100% sure. It comes with a trial of 5 downloads or something. Not removable without root.
Just got my Transformer yesterday, PressReader is pre-installed.

The root account is the highest privileged account on unix-like operating systems, such as Linux, which Android is based on (well, it is). It's equivalent to (an elevated) Administrator on Windows/OS X.
Having root access means you can do (for the most part) whatever the hell you want to the device. You can delete any file you want, you can write files anywhere, you can mess with the configuration in ways not normally allowed (such as tethering), backup installed apps with their configuration, etc.

Use Titanium backup, uninstall that way.
With Ti Backup, you can just freeze the app. That way you can always bring it back if you change your mind ...

[Q] Asus Email Widget and apk

In typical Sunday morning hackery fashion, I used Titanium Backup to freeze the stock Asus email apk so I could better get a handle on making Kaiten Mail the default. I am happy with the result, however the stock Asus email apk is now nowhere to be found. Titanium either tossed it or I made some other error.
Can anyone provide me with the stock email apk/widget? I'd like to at least have access to them should I want to roll back. Thanks in advance.
*and no, I do not have a recent Titanium backup...just the nandroid one before I installed Prime.

Why don't you just take it out of the Zip file that you used to install Prime?

Dave

Because, Mr. Smartypants, THAT would require me removing my HEAD from my A$$.
Thanks, Dave, for having patience enough to answer this stupid question.

Can i uninstall all asus apps?

I just bought the asus transformer, I primarily use it to surf the net. I dont need all the asus apps like mycloud, mynet.. etc. Is it safe to uninstall them? and if I do will I be able to get them back if I do a factory reset in case i need them in the future?
Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.
You need to root your tablet to remove system apps.
First of all, I don't know if you are aware of the fact that you will need root privileges to uninstall stock apps. If you're not and you don't have a lot of experience with rooted android devices I would recommend to get along with them - you probably don't want to make your warranty void already.
Otherwise I believe - anyone correct me if I'm wrong - it should be safe to remove mycloud or mynet. But be sure to make a backup with titanium first.
Anyhow I think both apps I mentioned are very useful and you normally pay for functions like splashtop viewer
if you are rooted , you can run the KRAKD rom and it will give you the option to remove all or just certain ones,
thats what i am using
root and titanium backup

Keep in mind that removing asus apps can cause problem when applying the ICS update (it won't update).
(I read this somewhere in prime forum)

Am I able to install the asus apps on CM10?

I can't find the stock asus apps that come with my transformer. They are not included in CM10, so I was wondering if there were APK's or a zip somewhere.

I did do this, I wasn't sure if there would be any compatibility issues or not. I've tried installing MIUI apps on stock android on my phone before and that never worked XD. Thanks for the tip, I will do this.

Asus backup app issues

Hi folks,
I am on the latest FW, not rooted, locked BL and have issues with the Asus backup utility.
It always fails to backup some of the running apps like Apex launcher, Swiftkey, Dropbox etc...
To be able to backup these apps I always need to manually kill them first which is really annoying.
Just wondering - is it just me or is it the crappy Asus backup app?
I know that the best thing I could do is root + Titanium Backup, but in fact I do not need to be rooted because of anything else so it is not worth the time spent on it for me.
Thanks
Do you need the user data backed up too if not you can download App Backup from the Play Store.

Unfortunately yes as the app data settings are the major reason for a back up.
not sure if it works but give it a try
