I am running on stock Android 2.3.1 on an unrooted Nexus S. I have had the phone for about a week and have not received an OTA prompt for either 2.3.2 or 2.3.3. Is there anything that I can do to force the OTA other than manually installing? Since the phone is only a week old, I would still be able to exchange it at Best Buy and would like to know if this is a problem with the phone or not.
Thanks for your help in advance.

The OTA will roll out over several weeks and will not show up on your phone until your IMEI is flagged to receive it. It's not a problem with your phone.
You can manually install the update if you'd like to receive it sooner.
I just recently managed to wipe my TF when I was rooting it, and had to go back to the stock firmware from the ASUS site.
The ASUS site only has the HC3.1 firmware on there and it's dated 7/25/2011. However, I know that when I got my Transformer 2 days ago, that it updated by it's self to HC3.2 the second it got an internet connection.
Now, when I got to look for an update in the "About Tablet" tab in settings, it says there are no updates available, even though my tablet is only on 3.1.
Did they pull the latest update?
3.2 has not been posted on Asus's site yet. It is only available via Over The Air...
And, after rooting mine (3.1) and restoring to stock I also do not get the 3.2 availability message.
I think that I will have to wait for Asus to post it.
Ah okay, that explains the website.
However, is there a reason my Transformer wouldn't be picking up on the update even though I'm on the official stock ROM?
from what i have observed, once you update, you will no longer get the update back by ota.
it must be a type of monitoring they have with the serial; number maybe.
when i received my tab(2 weeks back), i updated to .11 too and rooted. however upon unrooting and going back to the 8.4.4.5 version, i never got back the .11 ota. Yesterday i got the 3.2 ota directly. this what made me to come to the conclusion stated above.
That makes perfect sense, thanks.
I suppose I was going to root for Netflix anyway!

I noticed the same thing on mine. I updated, tried to root, bricked it, nvflashed back, and I haven't gotten the OTA again since. Thankfully there are other ways to upgrade.
I just today checked via software update and my P6210 model had a firmware update so I installed it. I have yet to see any changes though.
I unrealisticly was hoping it was ICS, but hopefully it is at least a peroration for ICS.
yes, there is an update, something around 19 mb, device failed to update (tried twice)
any possible reason (may be root)?
it also failed when I tried it at first. Then I followed the instructions and connected it to my computer to have Kies manage the firmware update. Its currently updating and seems to be going fine. I'll report back if it fails.
EDIT: worked like a charm. wonder why it can't do it without kies.
Firmware update took away root, replaced my kernel. garys root still works though, so whatevs.
Ics should be coming soon this year.
Just got my new TF300 today. Did a system update and mine is still at 4.0.3 and says its up to date. Did not everyone get the update? Is it just for a few states...I've forced a check a couple of times and nothing. This is OTA..
EDIT: Never mind just as I finished this post I get a beep on the TF300 saying a new firmware is available for download figures...
I have a Galaxy 7.7 6810 (originally purchased from Hong Kong) and a few weeks ago, I tried to go from ICS 4.0.3 to Jellybean using OTA. Unfortunately, I had forgotten that I was rooted and the OTA would not install. I then tried using Odin to flash Bodivas 4.1.2 and totally screwed up. Odin would not complete the installation - stuck somewhere in the process and I couldn't figure out how to safely get out. Soft brick! I finally (several days later) managed to get back to stock 3.2 using Odin 3 version 1.85. I ended up with build "HTJ85B P6810XXLB4, which seems to work just fine, but now I would like to get back up to JB. I was hoping that I could do OTA, as I'm not rooted right now, but I can't get past the registration page from Samsung. It asks for my country and by now I've tried many of the countries on the list and always get the message "Registration failed." The problem must be due to my build version.
Any suggestions for what I need to do in order to get Samsung to recognize my 6810 so that I can get the OTA update? I'm reluctant to try Odin again because of what happened last time, although I guess I can root and then try Mobile Odin this time around.
Sorry this is so long.
