[Q] Brick forever or possibility to restore?

Good evening everyone.
I bought Samsung galaxy tab 7.7 GT-P6800 about month ago. It's been working fine, till this saturday. When i tried to unlock my Tab, device didn't respond. I tried to power it on, but still no response. Hm, the reason of this thing is only one - too low battery. So, i putted my device on charge (saw battery icon on screen). After 2 hours, I came back and tried to power my device again, but it freezed with this battery icon. I hold power button for 10-15 seconds and my device started to load, but it got freezed on "Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7". My Tab is rooted, but firmware is official.
What my DEVICE CAN'T DO:
* Can't load into CWM (freezing at "Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7";
* Can't Power on;
* Can't charge;
* Can't connect to PC.
What my DEVICE CAN DO:
* Load into Downloading mode.
Is it possible to restore my Tab? If yes, how to do it, using Downloading mode (Kies doesn't see my tab)? Please help.

You can flash new rom via pc odin if you can go to download mode. I would suggest go over this thread first http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1469635

I feel sorry about that. Do you clean install your ROM? If you can now go to CWM Recovery, then it would be good. You can try factory reset in CWM.

I had the same issue this is when the flashed Rom is damaged.You need to install the originap Samsung Rom which can be bought from samsung or give your tab to a repair shop they will have the neccery things.

you need to make factory reset using cwm recovery... If you reinstall the Official Honeycomb firmware... you are safe to wipe using the stock 3e recovery... if you are on ICS... please go to download mode and install cwm... then factory reset...

I flashed my SGT 7.7 back to Official Honeycomb firmware, but i still can't access recovery mode. The only thing i can do is - load into download mode. I can't install CWM, because i flashed it to NON rooted Official firmware. It's still like a brick
Any other suggestions?

Isnt it possible to flash CWM without rooting first??
If I remember correctly.... Go into download mode... using Odin and flash CWM....
if you get that..... then try to re=boot into recovery and wipe away if your on HC...

Flashed CWM using Odin, but still can't access anything. I can only see two loading screens:
1. Freezing battery icon. (it happens, when i try to charge my tablet)
2. Freezing Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 sign.(it happens, when i just try to power my device on)
The only way I can power off my tablet is to wait untill my device's battery discharges.

I'm in the same situation:

Although I can boot into CWM 5.0.2.7 but I'm unable to successfully get a rom to work...

And it really worked!!! it takes a while, you will need to put aside around 1-2 hours to go through it carefully step by step.
I flashed CWM using odin first.

What firmware were you using on your tablet, while you were flashing CWM? Why I am asking it, is because i tried lots of different firmwares to install CWM and i couldn't boot into CWM niether with honeycomb, nor with ICS. And yeah thanks for your help.

I started with ICS stock but after my initial flash did't work I believe I wasn't really running any rom because it didn't work.
I then went into Odin/download mode (holding volume down and power).
once in I used the cwm-6.0.2.3-p6800.tar file and loaded it under "Bootloader" then I flashed that successfully.
to then get into recovery I hold Volume up + power (for a very long time about 20secs).
Once in recovery then you can begin the above guide to repair the sdcard.

I did exactly everything you wrote, even installed original ICS firmware again using Odin. Flashed recovery, hold Power + Vol Up buttons for like 5 minutes, but f*** this, still didn't boot into recovery. Erh.. my device is broken forever.. No solution for all this..

I'm in the same situation as Mrakoris, expect that I was in CM 10 and flashed to CM 10.1 before I got a brick.

I had a look at that topic but I'd rather try to get to CWM first just to wipe data/cache partitions.

How do you flash CWM using ODIN? CWM isn't a Bootloader, nor a PDA, nor a Phone, nor a CSC.

2. connect your device to your pc and start odin
3. put the cwm files on phone section of odin

Yaaaaay! Problem solved! My Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7. P6800 is alive again!
The problem was so easy, that i laught alot, when solved it. The problem was with micro SDcard. I used micro SDcard from my last Nokia phone, but Nokia's micro SDcard didn't approach to SGT7.7, but it approached ONLY by the size! So I used another micro SDcard, which I got when I bougt my Tab! Woohoo, i'm so happy now :laugh:

My friend wanted me to root his P920..i did using SuperOneClick, but then i couldnt install any recoveries or custom roms. Now i want to restore the phone as it was but all methods i tried (i read all topics) is failing. I even tried LG software update and now the phone is just bootloop on LG logo.
Please is there a friendly soul who could help me restore the phone? I read somewhere i might have messed up the bootloader.....help please anyone?

Try this:
1. Enable sound on your pc
2. Turn off you phone remove sd/sim card.
3. Connect your phone while pressing volume up with the Pc (I guess u have lg Drivers installed)
4. Wait and see if you hear sth (like 3 or more sounds) or if you phone enter in S/W mode.
5. reply again

No sounds......But it enters S/W mode....but nothing happens.......what should i do?

Im also worried that the battery will die....will it be charged while in S/W mode?

Go to device manager while in S/W mode and connect the usb cable.
See if anything pops up and reply.
I think it will show you LG Cosmo driver that is not installed but lets see.

All drivers was installed inclusive LG Cosmo Driver....i saw it......But when in device manager with S/W mode on i cant see the COSMO Driver name......
Should i be worried about battery dying? How can i know its charging when the phone is off?

As im aware it wont, but it still should charge if you just plug it when its off.
The Fact that you can enter downloadmode means you phone can be restored (Data will be lost)

I tried smartflash succesfully but phone still bootloops with LG logo on...also read later on in the thread that this might mean that bootloader is broken and needs to be restored...i paste quote "you have most likely been fiddling with the bootloader.
You'll need the correct bootloaders for the su870".....whats the solution now?

Just for the occasion i still know one method, but got to go now (Carneval )
Hope u can recover it, im returning in 2 days.

Now when trying to enter S/W mode the phone connects and losing Connection to usb all the time........damn

Have fun ..........please come back after 2 Days....feels as if this wont be fixed anytime soon.......

Do you have any other cable that you can try with?
What does it actually show?

Im trying with my brand new Note 2 LTE Usb Cable.......still the same....

I tried with fastboot, but when it comes to installing CWM it cant find directory, and im pretty sure ive put the img file in the right folder......

Okey i tried this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1942836 again and again and now im booting to Gingerbread 2.3.5 but the phone is not finding any internal memory space......in settings it says 0 mb left, i tried format internal memory but it wont help.........also i have not been able to enter recovery mode, to try flash something else.......and since there are 0 mb internal storage i cant download ROM manager either.........any ideas anyone?

You gotta format your internal memory from within the ROM. Boot your device then Go to settings/storage/format internal sd. It should be okay. If you can't find the settings try pressing menu button while in the homescreen. In the menu press settings and it should run.

Try to flash another gingerbread Kernel. If you cant enter recovery, but you can enter fastboot mode then try: fastboot flash (Drag and Drop the boot.img to shell) and press enter.

Turn off your phone then turn on your phone while holding 3D button and vulume up or down ( not sure which one ) and power button as son as the screen turns on free all of them then you should see the android icon wait till you enter the recovery mode there format every thing.
I hope this will work

I updated the phones ROM and rooted it perfectly. In the process of the newest rom update, while in Clockword recovery mode - wipe data was accidentally selected, in the middle of the data wipe I tried to save the phone by removing battery. Now its stuck in bootloop, Recovery mode doesn't even come up, but I succeeded in getting the phone into Download Mode, but it has the Triangle up with CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: YES(2 COUNTS) and CURRENT BINARY :CUSTOM. I have used Odin to try to install the Stock Att version, still no luck. as of now the phone is bricked, and can only get it into download mode. Can somebody please help? Ill die if I can't fix this phone, and Just so you know, I don't have a USB jig to delete the custom binary files. Is that the only way I can get the phone to actually turn on and function? Help plz Im freakin here...

After flashing to factory rom I get this error message: E:failed to mount /dbdata (File exists)
E:copy_dbdata_media:Can't mount /dbdata your storage not prepared yet, please use UI menu for forma and reboot actions.

Try using heimdall, go to download mode with that triangle.

Thank you so much, my phone is working now. I just have to find a way to reset the binary download count(get rid of the yellow triangle) without purchasing a USB jig. Any suggestions? Im trying to update firmware to ICS and then Jelly bean. I tried flashing it to a newer version(ics), but then the phone goes back into bootloop (i think bc of flashing it to ics, then jelly bean, and then back to a rooted stock verison), so I have to keep using the rooted stock firmware. Any suggestions? Thank you btw

Getting to download mode is all the USB jig does. U can get it with out one. I believe if u hold down volume and plug in cable. Its something like that I forget. And a return to stock using heimdall or Odin should fix anything

im having troubles too!!
i have a similar problem myself. I rooted my infuse it has cwm9 and ics. but for some reason the phone cuts off and starts boot looping. i cant get it in download mode or recovery. took the battery out put it back in and its starts doing it without touching the power button. ive beat and banged on it still nothing but the loop. this is the longest it has done it, usually it would quit after a few minutes but its going on 24 hours now. any help would be awesome!!!

Try holding the volume up and the volume down (but not the power button) with the USB plug already in the phone and hooked up to the computer and then insert the battery. If you don't get into download then you either need a jig or have a power button problem.

i tried the method you just described and its a no go. where do i get a jig? i didnt have this issue till after i rooted and updated so i wanna rule out power button at the moment and try the jig

Can get into download mode,
I am able to get into download mode, Ive flashed the OS a number of times back to stalk, then tried ICS, and jelly bean, and I still get the same error message I got at the beginning of this post. But I was able to reset the Binary counter, if I could get my phone to work again I would literally pay somebody to help me....I know it is possible to get it back up and running, it's just a complicated process it seems. Help please!

Chainfire had a program called Triangle Away. Do a search but be careful, it might not work with Infuse and you could get a real brick.

i am now that the point of believing that my infuse is un-brick-able, so I am writing down my instruction as a noob for you
A/ Preparation in your computer:
1. Install/Update Java (http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp) and Get the driver for the Samsung ready (download and install Kies software at http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/SGH-I997ZKAATT)
2. download Heimdall One-Click Back-To-Stock UCKJ4 + Easy CWM install at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331381 (maybe put it right there in the desktop)
3. Download SGH_I997 Entropy 4_4_2012-One-Click-Heimdall.jar (maybe put it right there in the desktop)
4. Download: CM-9-20120620 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1601844
5. Download: CWM-community-kernel from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1119598
6. Download a rom and gapps ( i use the AvatarROM and Gapps from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2174227)
*connect your phone to the computer and copy and paste the 4, 5, 6 items into your sd card
* i am not so sure where you are at, but maybe you don't need flash the cm-9
what you need to do:
a. pull out the battery, put it back on, holding down both the volume buttons while plug in the use cord, the other end of the usb already plug in the computer, that would put you to the download mode
b. by now your computer would be noticing the phone is connected, you then click the Heimdall at 2 above to turn it on (read that thread so you can know what to expect) if you have the drive and the phone is really connected, then, you can click "flash" and the Heimdall will do it job - don't do anything the phone will be rebooting itself back to stock (in the thread, the dev. said you might need to flash two times, but in my case, I only did once and it worked right away)
c. be happy with result for a while, then you put the phone back to download mode and flash the Entropy Heimdall at 3 above, your phone will get the red recovery if things go the way it should
d. then you wipe everything (maybe no need but whatever... after bricking your phone, it doesn't hurt to spend a min. to do this), 2 wipes at the main red recovery and then go to advance and wipe advik catch and battery state .. i would do every wipe 2 times ... and also select the "fix permissions" in there too
e. then you flash the cwm community kernel at (5) assuming that you already put it in the sd card of your phone (if not, then you choose the option from the the red recovery "connect as usb drive, your computer wil read the phone and allow you to copy and paste - i must say here that I tried this step a few times in order to make it work, i even reboot my computer)
then you flash the ROM and Gapps that you want to (assuming that you already put them in the sd card of the phone)
if jellybean didn't go through then maybe you should try the cm-9 first ...
be patient, very patient if things to the way it should, your phone will reboot a few times and recovery will change its color ... and you will get to the ROM you want
while you are waiting for those reboots, take time to read at least the first 3 pages of the threads that I put the links above to learn about the problems and what to expect
don't panic very much it will led to bad decision
your phone will be fine as XDA dev. have spent a great deal of time, energy, thoughts on the infuse
once again, hope you understand my noob instruction and esl writing
you phone will be working again

[solved] Can't enter recovery mode

excuse me sir, i'm new here. I got a new core here and i interested in moster ROM in this thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2520999 ) so i started to instal CWM recovery. i've followed this step ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2517850 ) because in 1st it didn't work i try the second one.
it worked i can enter recovery mode now, but because my fail, i'm not instal the custom rom but just flash it all. it's ok missed my data, and booted normally like first buy (it said need soft update, etc.), and then after realized i want to try back again to instal the monster rom again, and i try to enter recovery mode again. but why after i press vol+ > home > power after samsung logo it just went black? after holding it about 30s it still blank and if i released the button it booted back to normal. what's the problem bro pls help. i'm just new in this modding world :fingers-crossed:

Don't mess with a new phone if you don't know exactly what you are doing.
Now your phone is soft-bricked.
Download this (FOR GT-I8260) or this (FOR GT-I8262) stock firmware and use ODIN to flash it to your phone, as described in this post (thanks to Omkar$).
I am not responsible if you hard brick your phone.
Soft-bricking was your mistake, and there is no reason to be mad at us.

calm bro i just mean i have make my phone back to normal i mean i've solved it and im done, sry for my bad english (im indonesian)
yeh it's my fault and after searching i know to solve it i need to flash to stock and wipe data thrugh recovery mode, the main problem that i got is i can go to that mode again, but it my fault again as newbie, i just made a little mistake, i just need a good timing when pressing vol+>home>power key after it vibrate, and now i can go to that mode and till sucessfully install the monster ROM and work smoothly till now.
very much thanks to the respond guys i need to learn more and i know curiousity need a big responsibility

when i press vol down+home+power button it says factory mode.....how to go to download mode then????

I recommend using Samsung Kies for reverting to stock ROM. Just boot in download mode and select Forward update and initialization

Xz premium G8142 bricked

Guys,my phone gets a problem,a massive problem,so when i press power button it just show a green led light,when i hod it same result a green light shows and disappear and again shows,it have 46 percent battery when this happend but i plug it to charger result like i hold power button,cant enter recovery same like i press power button,fastboot mode is gone when i hod volup and plug to pc it goes on flash mode,flash mode is now have two buttons volup works and vol down works too.i am try to install .75 fromware with newflasher,its installed but my phone still bricked,i install .34 too and it dosent unbrick my phone too.
Please help me because i cant find a way to fix it,oh and i try yo use sony companion but it dosent install on my pc.
And sorry for my bad english.

try to reinstall twrp rwcovery
enter tobrecovery then wipe all data and cash to format ur phone

I dont know how i most do it,but im sure that not gonna help because when i get brick i already haved twrp but i cant boot to recovery.

this has happened to me last night i have 22 percnt battery charge my phone, i have turn off my phone because i want to enter again recovery because im doing some installing zip, when i press power then vol down, it was off so i was thinking it was booting into recovery but it wasnt turning on pressing power nothing going recovry nothing, i panic i get my original sony charger then plug it in, after a while it turn on with a battery indicator, i charge it about 60% then tried turning on the device, and magic it turned back to life, i wasnt sure what was happening but next time when ur going to recovery make sure phone is turned off then go from there dont go, turn off while its turning off press power + vol down please dont do this

2 hour on charging but nothing.

Im haved carbon rom ,then im going to recovery flash turbo rom flash magisk reboot device(after im go to rom change log i found that root deleted on that version i installed),so boot animation shows up but device turn off i again press power bottun again boot animation shows up and device turn off do that again and same result.so after 3 time im try to going to recovery mode but i found that my phone is bricked.

Oh I see did you have. Clean installation? I mean did u wipe everything before flashing turbo latest tomorrow? Because it needs to have a clean flash Coz of a high sec update and no dirty flashing as posted to his thread,

Im never do a dirty flash always clean flash.

I recently fixed a bricked XZP with Flashtool, get the latest stock firmware from Xperifirm if you dont have on hand an older hackable firmware from XperiFIX
in Xperifirm setting, set it to extract firmware automatically once downloaded to speed things up,
In flashtool/Tools/bundles/Create, select source folder (your downloaded extracted firmware)
in device "double click" & select your phone model from the list.
branding: add as your download example, custom_uk
version: firmware version copy & paste from download
copy all files from file list to firmware content & click create
this will build a .ftf flash tools file which can then be flashed to your bricked device
just follow the prompts in flashtool....
worked for me,

I already haved 3 ftf file i instaled all of them with flashtool nothing change i still have a bricked phone.its look like im so unluckyor others dont experince my problem.
Im hating sony now i never will buy a phone and im gonna tell every body to do not buy a sony phone.im using y3 now and if my phone dosent fix thats gonna be my phone unitl it die.

Guys really no way for me? Im realy upset to why i dont bought a lg phone .because lg has a tool wich i relive my dead g3 with that why sony dosent have a tool like that?

How give me a deep solution.
Edit flshimg normaly firmware dosent fixy problem.i dont know what the hell going on my phone it just have flashmode no more and when try any other thing just notification led turn green and off.

Ofcourse i have and flashed .34 amd .75 frimwares with both neflasher and flashtool but none of them fix my problem.is it something that dosent change when we flash stock frimwares.

Lol. Sony phones are really hard to brick. You really can't brick a Sony phone even if you intentionally wanted to. I've even had a failed flash (phone disconnected while flashing) and was still able to flash using flashtool.
Anyways, I know this has been said before, but what happens after you flash using flashtool? Did you check all the boxes for a full wipe?
BTW, bad mouthing a phone just because you can't solve your problem won't help you.
