If I'm not mistaken, bootanimations are images played in sequence. If you explore the zip of the bootanimation then there should be each image inside of it which you can then upload in the order they are played.

Here, I threw together a quick .gif file for the animation. It's not really a CM7 boot animation IMO, but it looks nice. The speed on this won't necessarily be the same as it is on your phone, I didn't try to match the gif's fps to the desc.txt file in the animation.

Also I didn't try this on my G2x either, normally images are 480 x 800 for boot animations, these are 480 x 288, so it'll most likely be centered with black above and below.

I thought that was going to be for CM9, or should I just assume its CM9 when ICS is referred to on XDA

The animation is probably the wrong resolution. Open the .zip amd down convert the images to 480x800 resolution.

This guy is like the boot animation king.
Not a fan of Beats by Dr. Dre, they are kind of like Bose- expensive with no justification. Excellent port though, have you considered making one specific to XDA? I dunno why, I just think an XDA boot animation to be used by custom roms would be sweeeeeet.

You have to remap the ids in the globalactions smali with the ids in the public.xml. Thise image ids are called on from there. And thats the same one that in zeus, so idk why your smalis ids are messed up and mine arent, but thats the only way to fix it.

But since it came stock on the new Nexus 7 (before the Jellybean OTA, I guess) - it seems to me that it's fair game..

looks cool , thanks man!
Go and hit the Thanks button on FadedLite's post and/or try out their app... I did nothing but that, and search quite a bit since it was released at the I/O.
So, no credit for me really. I just tossed it in a cwm zip. It was bound to turn up sooner or later...

Strange. I just flashed it again and it works fine. Don't know what BAC is but, did you try root explorer or
adb? Is that bootanimation.zip making it to the /system/media folder with rw-r--r-- permissions? Or try with the AniBoot app - gotta change the resolution to find the right ani though..

If you currently have a bootanimation.zip in a /system/media folder, then there's a good chance it will. But I have no idea at this point..

It's not a compressed zip file. It's just storage. Then you'll have to copy it to system/customize/resource after you've renamed the one that's in there. (something like bootanimation.zip.old) Then hit paste and set permissions to match your old one. Reboot & check out your handiwork.
