Nexus 7 Boot Animation - Motorola Atrix 2

Well, I hope I am not stepping on anyone's toes, but I have been looking for this boot animation since I saw it a couple of days ago...
Finally found it through SoCal Devs AniBoot app - try the app for yourself - thank you FadedLite!
But since it came stock on the new Nexus 7 (before the Jellybean OTA, I guess) - it seems to me that it's fair game..

The image size is not exactly for our device, but it looks good (not stretched).
Download attached zip to sdcard and install through Recovery. Or unzip the zip and move it to your system by your own means...

looks cool , thanks man!

Go and hit the Thanks button on FadedLite's post and/or try out their app... I did nothing but that, and search quite a bit since it was released at the I/O.
So, no credit for me really. I just tossed it in a cwm zip. It was bound to turn up sooner or later...
Sent from my phone's mind

It flashed OK, but when it boots it is just a flat black screen.
I also tried to install via BAC and got the same result.

Strange. I just flashed it again and it works fine. Don't know what BAC is but, did you try root explorer or
adb? Is that bootanimation.zip making it to the /system/media folder with rw-r--r-- permissions? Or try with the AniBoot app - gotta change the resolution to find the right ani though..
Edit: I get it - Boot Animation Changer, right?

Not sure.
If you currently have a bootanimation.zip in a /system/media folder, then there's a good chance it will. But I have no idea at this point..

Yes, BAC. " boot animation changer" its an app in the play store.
Ill try it manually.
Sent from my MB865 using xda premium

Yeah try it manually. Follow altered's instructions on permissions and install it to the area below. Make sure it's titled bootanimation.zip
There are a couple of different places for different phones that boot animations can go, but ours needs to go here:

^If you don't feel like overwriting the system bootanimation you can also place it in /data/local
Thanks for the animation!

Eh... it doesn't look too bad on our 960x540. So, yes, it works on other resolutions..
And since it's so large, one could presumably scale it down...

pretty much. i just do the auto wipe, then do the individual wipes
Well I'll try it again and hopefully it'll work. But anyway how does it run?
from what i've seen so far, pretty darn quick compared to regular cm9.
Sorry for the double thanks. They were both supposed to be a reply.
My concern is since this is not a theme but an entire ROM are we going to have to go through trouble shooting this as well now. It looks great and I am going to give it a try but I'm not into working through another ICS theme. Is there a way to strip the theme and install just that into an existing ICS theme. Even if it is one of the CM9 variants???
Beautiful work though. Will let you know more after downloading. Also can this be flashed over an existing CM9 ROM? If not sure I will Nandroid give it a shot and give feedback.

No, you dont have to install it just copy the files and set the permissions and then reboot. The system will automatically install it when you reboot. Delete it and do the steps again, but dont install it, just copy the files and set the permissions and reboot, it should work. Hope this helps.

Depends on what you like, but it show you the lyrics(where they are actualy singing), it downloads the Album art, it syncs using MotoCast(If you want). I think it's the best Music player for Motorola. It's really good, better than 'Play Music'. But it depends on what you like, I like the lyrics part and that it downloads the Album art.
Edit1: By the way, this is the Stock Motorola music player, just that Motorola didn't include it in the ICS leak for Atrix 2.

NEED ROOT! put the zip file in /system/customsize/resource/ and replace the original one(bootanimation.zip or htc_bootanimation.zip) then reboot.
If you are not use a sense4 ROM, replace /system/media/bootanimation.zip
backup your data first.
you can use ROOT Explorer or ES File Explorer to do this.

Is there a good way to change permissions for a large amount of files? All of the file explorers that I have tried *say* that they successfully changed permissions, but in reality only one of the files shows the proper 644 permissions. I did read about using Terminal Emulator to do it, but I'm not good at interpreting the sparse instructions. I really don't want to go through all 60 sound files and change them individually

My question is...with all the customization Android has why is there not an easier solution to this!? Can't someone make a root app that let's you select sounds like you would a ringtone or message alert.
