Is there a way to i make myself stylus?
thanks ,and sorry for bad language
I guess you could try and use antistatic film to make one but you should google “How to make Capacitive Touch Screen Stylus”.
You can also buy such a stylus online.
I have a wacomBAMBOO iPad stylus i use it's really good but a bit pricey $35 you can but it at any Apple Store.
I will try to make my own
Chop off someones finger and stick it on the end of a pencil?
You could also use a sausage (it actually works! ). But I myself have a cheap stylus from dealextreme (<- link). You have to apply some preasure, but it's good enough for me.
finding spare fingers can be a bit of a tough thing to do......unless you know any Japanese gangsters
Well, you can make your own... no problem. Use a sock with conductive thread over a pen or a just roll up an antistatic plastic film (ESD protected plastic bags?)...
The best one use conductive foam, like in this video step-by-step "make it yourself" instructions... ;-)
However, I would prefer the sock, since you can ask grandma to knit one for you...
Cheers!
I have ten, custom made stylus'... True. My folks made them and they fit my hands perfectly.
Seriously, and no offence intended, but is the idea of paying for a capacitive device not so you can do without a stylus?? Seems counter-intuitive to me...

I got my silicone case for the Touch Diamond today. I ordered it from http://www.netimes.com/shop/black-silicone-skin-case-for-htc-touch-diamond-p3700-p-1200.html.
It fits OK, but there is one thing that I think could be better. The cutout for the USB connector in the bottom is 4cm wide for some reason. Because of this they have not been able to make a hole for the stylus pen. This means that there is no way of taking out the stylus pen when the silicone case is on! Seems pretty strange to me...
If they had made the USB cutout just 2cm wide, which would have been more than enough, there would have been no problem to make a hole for the stylus pen.
I notice that the cover creates a 'raised edge' around the screen. Does it interfere with the touchscreen?
Good question! I'm not using my fingers on the Diamonds touch screen a lot, I usually use the stylus pen.
But after trying it with my fingers for a while, I think that it does intefere a bit when you use the fingers for navigating. If you swipe your finger from the right to the left on the screen, your finger often "catch" the left side of the silicone case and stretch it a bit. But as the silicone stretches without problems, I don't know if it will be a problem in the long run.
damn damn damn!
i fc****ing dropped my Diamond this morining and the beauty is spickled with scratches now. (fortunatly not the screen)
if anyone jumps into a polisher to remove scratches on the lower part where the keys are , please post here
Devaluated by at least 200 US becausew of this ... Damn myself
How about Brando?
http://shop.brando.com.hk/prod_detail.php?prod_id=02641&dept_id=004&cat_id=0002
i tried out the silicone case at a local mall
and it seemed ok
it is ugly as ****
but its cheap and does the job...
i decided to stick with a hard clear plastic case though, just seemed a bit better ...
For those of you who already have a silicone case for the Diamond, could you please tell me if you are still able to rub your finger around the edge of the center button and navigate up and down lists? Or does the silicone prevent this from happening (as it is based on capacitance, and given that silicone is an insulator, I would expect that this would stop working...).
BTW, I agree that the cutout at the bottom, way too bug for USB and with no possibility of taking the stylus out, is pretty stupid! First thing I noticed... But despite this I might still be tempted over the stock case I got with my Orange phone.
Thanks
checked this out? link

Works fine with Brando´s silicone case.
Has anyone found a replacement magnetic stylus for the Diamond that has an integrated ink pen?
Cheers

Umm. so you have to remove this nylon cap every time to use the pen. No useful I think and easy to lose it.
I 'd agree. I suspect that cap would become loose as well and may fall off, then you'd be left trying to get the stylus out without the cap on
Escellent...!

Ok If you buy please leve feedback about my concern in the cap.
Its OK, but.....
Well, got the stylii today from HK and they are quite smart and functional. A few things to note though:
1) the "end" of the stylus that matches the Diamond case is matched well but is not the supe high glossy polish (perhaps a little bit of the gloss finish)....hardly noticable but definately very slightly different
2) stylus is NOT magnetised ..... but it does have a nice fit and does not want to "fall out" of the case. However, I am going to fill the hollow body with iron filings and then magnetise same (other half is science teacher!!) which will then make perfectionist me happy!!
Overall would recommend the purchase as good value for money (you get 3) and I only use it infrequently (on plane for visas, etc)
Hi, this is my first thread on this forum.
I am awaiting delivery of a new TG01.
I was wondering how do you guys solved the problem of the lack of space for the stylus on TG01. I am thinking about a Mugen 2600 battery with cover which can hold the stylus, but I would prefer the thin device
many thanks
i dont use it
sorry if thats unhelpful lol i did used to just put the stylus in my pocket but since i installed a new keyboard i dont use it
ull need the extra battery either way ...
I do not use it too

I use my stylus all the time - I never touch the screen with my fingers.
I bought a silicone case for my TG01, and I keep a slim stylus (from my Touch HD) between the back of the TG01 and the case - there is a cut-out for the speaker that I use to insert and remove it.
Not a perfect solution, but it works.
That's one of the annoying things of our by the other side lovely device...(the other two are: stupid SD card access, and charge+usb+earphones in the same plug)
On my former device I only used stylus (with phatware CalliGrapher) but now I also use keyboard (Swype) sometimes. What I do it's having a lot of stylus anywhere: On my pocket, my car, my desk, ....
I use the stylus from a Samsung Genio and keep it attached to my keys... its a similar concept to Toshiba's own stylus but has a cap to protect the stylus nib. Another advantage is that the cap is retained on the keyring and the stylus part can be seperated for use, unlike the Tosh supplied stylus...
Only costs three quid too...

The Mugen 2600 mAh with his back cover solved the problem to me.
Yes it's doubled the tickness of the phone( it's a brick but I like it ), but in this cause I can hold it in my hands more stable and no need to charge the battery on every night, so it's worthed( solved 3 problems with Mugen 2600) .

@ a_petrov303
And, (in case you did not get your TG yet and noticed it by yourself) of course you can "hang" the original stylus to the Phone using the provided "string" or any other you like best...
Hang where? Those straps need a hole in the case to thread through. Yet another thing my old Treo Pro has over this phone.
Afraid my english is not good enough to explain this clearly: typically the kind of thing easier to do than describe; the quick start guide showed it, if I remember well; the "hole/hook" is in and behind the battery cover, near the speaker: you take battery cover out, have the "string" end griped in the "hook", place the battery cover having the string out by the speaker hole.
That really doesn't work. That hole is for the speaker.
It works with mine, but my explanations are not clear: not the speaker hole in the TG back but one kind of hole or hook, dunno the precise english word for it, near the speaker hole and then, the string out by the cover speaker hole: unless our tg are different? (I'll try to find my quick start guide this week end, and post a picture if that helps...)
Why don't you attach a picture?
Tanks!
The user guide actually says that it cannot be stored in the phone. On page 32 in English.

thank you, but I do not like the idea of hanging-near-the-the-phone-and-possibly-scratching stylus
Did not find my quick start guide, so hope shoots show enough.
Actually, I do not use the "string" for the stylus, I rather type with nails, and that was why I wanted a resistive touch screen in first place.
But I find it usefull when I use TG single handed, TG put on the four, string round one of them to prevent accidental fall and make screen orientation easier, typing with thumb nail.
Also hate digging for the phone down a bag's depths, where heavy stuff could crush it furthermore; so I sometime hang TG with string and "mousqueton"; of course, I would not dare treat poor phone that way if it hadn't silicon case and vikui screen protector.
The only tricky point: putting cover back with the string still in the right hole.
NB: background, another of dear TG pet accessories: small microfiber towell, good to clean screen without pressing, prevent dust or any small particle in the pocket get in and fuss with speakers holes; can also work extra cushion depending what I carry TG with; not very glamorous indeed, but efficient.

Apparently they will work on an iPhone and I would assume they would work on the Desire as well. Anybody know for sure (or know of another glove?)
They do, an Iphone has an capacitive screen, so has the desire.
Excellent. Just bought those! Quite useful in icy Norway
My £2 woolen gloves work too, I just have to press a bit harder
why blow £20 on them when you can 'hack' your current gloves?

Saw that guide. I've been thinking about doing that instead.
just buy conductive thread from the net or anywhere like a sewing shop and sew a cross on you finger you use or all of them

Adonit Jot. Read about it on the Asus Transformer forum.

Index finger is most common.
Otherwise middle finger, ring finger or pinky finger.
If you want a challenge, try your thumb.
I've been looking for one too.
The ones mentioned above are very nice but way too pricy. I came across this just today: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA07R06K0131

just remember cheaper doesnt always mean it's any good. read the reviews, especially on the stylus tips, before buying.

I just posted this in the other thread. I purchased this one when it was a little over $10. It works very well. It has the same rubbery tip as others, however the aluminum body (full) give it some extra sensitivity I believe.

I have one just like this, it works very well if a little squeaky. It's a bit heavy in the hand mind you, I think it's solid aluminium.
i live in asia and sometimes its not ideal to use a touchpad in a humid environment. i went accessory shopping today and found a 10 dollar stylus at the local store. it states it is made for ipads. i tested it and it works great on my touchpad. the size and weight is perfect. the pressure is perfect when working with the tablet. glad i didnt have to order from amazon and wait.

So about 7 months ago I bought a Boxwave for my nook color. I thought, "this is great, now I can take notes in my classes". When I got it and tried it, it sucked. As it turns out there didn't seem to be any styli which did anything on the nook color (from what I read). I just got that Boxwave and tried it on my touchpad...perfection. It is exactly what I was hoping for.. Now I need ICS to hurry up and get here so that I can use the ASUS supernote app (exactly what I have always imagined in a not taking app).
I've tried 3 or 4 different brands and didn't like any of them. Ranging from cheap ebay junk to 20+ dollar ones(best buy etc). I've not tried the Gomatic brand though, and they look interesting.
If it had a pen digitizer it would be so much nicer. No idea what type of technology would have been necessary to achieve that, but as it is, none of the dumb old stylus's have been nice enough for me to take notes with.
