Doing a bit of research and came across these:
* Tuneband for Nexus One (US Amazon)

* iGadgitz (UK Amazon)

* Belkin Sports Armband for iPhone 3GS (UK Amazon)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002CVCK...de=asn&creative=22206&creativeASIN=B002CVCK0S
And a few others.
Also - a lot of iPhone straps, but not a lot of confirmation, despite the similar dimensions, that the N1 will fit snuggly.
Anyone tried any of these who can advise on which are good \ bad? Any good ones I have missed?
There was a lot of arkmband discussion on another thread...maybe some scoop there.
Found it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=672443&highlight=armband
I rock the tuneband, its solid enough... i wish the strap was wider for a bit more support for the phone but definitely does the job...
I put on the screen protector as well for ****s and giggles and its actually not bad
Just Ordered the Iarmband one. Will let you know how it fits when it gets here.

Have you done hard sprinting with it? I love my Tuneband, but haven't dared to run full sprint with it.
Slip it in between your heart rate monitor band its not in the best position but it works for me.

yea it jostles around a bit... i would recommend you strap it high enough to tuck a sleeve over it
I run with the Belkin armband (from when I had an iPhone), and sony bluetooth earphones. I find it fits the Nexus quite snugly, the sound quality is great even while sprinting and no cables!
for those of you with a tuneband, does the phone fit with a case?

It fits perfectly, but I haven't dared to do hard sprinting with it yet, since it's not a full coverage. It's like a silicon sleeve and the band goes through the back of the sleeve.

This works perfectly for me. The normal way of using it with the iPhone will not work with the nexus because the hole for the 3.5mm jack is on the wrong side. Rather than destroy the thing, I put it on upside-down and it has two holes on the bottom, one of which I can use. Also this way the flap that allows you to slide the phone in and that's supposed to keep the phone inside the thing is on the top and somewhat secure thanks to the 3.5mm plug. Also, I've used it on about 15-20 different runs and it's never bothered me or showed any signs of wear.

Got it.. Ran 3 miles today, did back and biceps! Cord NEVER got in my way, and stayed plugged in the whole time!! **** YEA
Never even felt it was there, i can still swype text. Never really even thought it would be comfortable. I had to put it up higher than my bicep... If you have over 17" Biceps this would be a uncomfortable product.
has anyone else found any decent ones?

Try the one I linked to. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be disappointed.
non of these places ship to Australia
I use the Belkin Sport Armband - but I wear it around my wrist so the N1 ends up riding like a big flat watch. The RunKeeper app is really well done, and wearing it like this allows me to see pace and distance, etc.
I haven't tried it with headphones yet.
I just got my Tuneband a couple of days ago. The days I got it I used it one the treadmill for a 30min jog at 6mph and no issues. Yesterday I used it at the gym on the weight machines and no issues either. I figure if it the N1 did pop out at least the speaker wire should keep it from hitting the floor. But it felt solid the whole time. Good product, especially when it was 12.99(?) on sale at amazon.
I ended up buying some iphone armband for like $7aud. Went for a 10KM jog the other weekend, and i cant fault it!!!
I had to cut a hole for the nexus one head fone jack but other than that perfect! Just on the outside of the where the phone sat was sweaty but inside not one drop!
Hi,
Here is my new DIY Nexus One car holder I just put together:
The base is from Garmin nüvi 200 series and the holder for phone is just plain hard shell I bought very cheap from eBay.
What do you think?

It looks great and slim also holds phone quite well.
Here are few photos in 'action' (sorry for the mess in my garage):
That looks really good. Much better than my "universal" POS that wobbles and rattles and occaisonally drops my phone:

Can you link to the case you bought (or a similar one) please?
And where did you get the base? Was it a spare you had?

I'm new user and I am not permitted to post outside links.
For case just search for 'BLACK HYBRID HARD BACK CASE FOR HTC GOOGLE NEXUS ONE' on UK eBay.
For base search 'GARMIN NUVI WIDESCREEN MOUNT FOR 200, 200T, 200W & MORE' - you will get several results from Hong Kong - they are very cheap.
I've attached photo of this mount.
You just have to cut off two horns on Garmin cradle and stick it on case with some thin mirror bond sticky pads.
Hope this is not too confusing.
Not confusing at all. You've made the whole thing very clear, in fact!
Thank you for the info. I'll be making mine very soon!

I think superglue will also works but I put mirror tape for future considerations - it will be easier to remove tape and change shell case when I change phone.

Haha I have the exact same holder and a very similar case and I was trying to come up with a way to make them work together. I hadn't considered getting another case and then modifying the garmin holder. I'll be doing this as well!
Rinegpeace, can you please give some comment about the quality of the back case? How thin is it? rubbery on the inside/outside? Would you feel comfortable using the phone with the case on all the time?
Thanks in advance!

For everyday use I would pick little harder case. This one is thin and it is very easy to pull phone in and out. This is preferable for car dock but for real case it is maybe too flexible.
After couple days of testing I feel very secure about holding my N1 while driving and even if you turn this dock upside down it will hold your phone in the cradle. So, maybe you will like it as everyday case.
Here is one short video of detaching and attaching my N1 in this car dock:

that's awesome, thanks mate!
You can also get the air vent mount for the nuvi instead of the suction mount. I kinda don't want it to stick to glass so this is nice.
what are those mirror adhesive pads? buy them at home depot?

You'd be better off finding them at an automotive store or maybe walmart if they are to repair a rear view mirror that fell off inside a car as I'm suspecting.
This has been featured in Lifehacker some weeks ago, with the same materials... the idea was from a OcUK user.
I've already made one myself for my HTC Legend and it looks great, it was cheap, and it's really sturdy.
Is it me or does the first photo in the original post look like it has a windows logo!?!
This is a great idea. I just finished it for my Touch Pro 2 with no problems. I hvae a slight difference though. I cut the very top off of the silicon case so that my tp2 can slid in and out with ease. Although there is plenty of friction to keep it in normally.
I just wanna say that after 2 days of using this in my car it is just working absolutely perfectly. The easy rotation is very convenient and it looks really good as well, being so form fitting to my phone.
Now that is cool.
I shall be getting the bits this week.
UPDATE
I actually found a silicone case on ebay. Its not how I wanted it to be but its still cool. Its a 2 piece and come in different colors. Something cool to mention is that it goes on top of the key board. I like the black and white ones the most
------------------------------------------------------------------------
A hard or silicone case that wraps/hugs the phone. For people like me that don't use the keyboard. So once you have the case you cant open it to use the keyboard. I hate letting people use my phone and they either play with the keyboard and messes up my hinge and etc. I have a case already (clear case with kickstand) but i want a case where it just wraps the whole phone so no one can flip out the keyboard.
Who thinks this is a good idea?
is it already made and I just dont know?
I think it's a pretty good idea.
i explained to my girlfriend how i thought the hinge was flimsy and i was worried about it breaking in the future. yet she still has to slide they keyboard numerous times a day, HARD. REALLY starting to piss me off. Friends do it too... it just needs a gentle push.. jesus

The one piece silicone cases are much better then the garbage protection we have now.
I DO use rubberbands already. Do any of you still have the bands that came on the usb and headphones in the retail box? I just have one wrapped around the trackpad. It works just fine for me and the black matches my case. Still slides out of my pocket just as easily as it did before, with the gel tmo case that is.
Saves my battery, my hinge, my keyboard, and gave me a reason to flash the amazing gingerbread multitouch keyboard sweetness of doom.

Then why didn't you just get a MyTouch 4G instead? If you never use the hardware keyboard, then it is just added weight and bulk. The MyTouch 4G trades a hardware keyboard for a front camera, more RAM, faster CPU, etc.

My girlfriend got a free G2 from the tmobile loyalty program several weeks back, and she's been wanting a case like this, as she never uses the physical keyboard. I don't think it's too ludicrous of a request. If it's between a free phone that happens to have a QWERTY and one that costs $120-200, I think it's relatively a no brainer.
I'm thinking of telling her to try this case: http://www.wirelessground.com/t-mobile-g2-aluminum-black-case.html. I just hope it doesn't add too much bulk.
I so want a case like the one described above. it would be one step closer to having a Desire HD
I felt the same way, initially, but have grown rather fond of being able to see the entire screen while I type. Not so sure I'd give that up now.

when you put a case on the touchpad, will it protect it from e.g. accidental fall? saw a pic of a broken touchpad's screen.. kind of worried now
No you're better off dropping it without a case.

You're going to have to specify height of drop, windspeed and direction and landing surface density.
Also, is it an African or a European Swal...er Touchpad?

My best advice is to assume it won't and act accordingly.
Obviously a short fall to a soft surface is less likely to damage the pad than a long fall to a hard one.
I think the real value in the case, as long as it fully covers. is against accidental "bumps" into other things while carrying.
is there any case that can protect it from shocks? is there a wrist strap for touchpad

Maybe an OtterBox (which they have not manufactured yet).
Also, there is no place to attach a wrist strap to the thing.
What is curious to me is why are you so convinced you need such protection.
Are you suffering from some physical condition that makes you drop a lot of things?
Have you already dropped laptops and other electronic things which got broken?
If either of these is the case, maybe you should just use the TP on a desk or a lap and not plan on carrying it anywhere else?
I am not trying to be combative or ugly, just pointing out the obvious.
Nunja, pm sent.... Looking for you

Just glue it to your hand, then attach pillows to each side of it. That works great for me.
PS. If you are falling, put your other hand out first. I went through three touchpads before I figured that out.

I understand completely. Then I would have to say the stategy would be to get an Otterbox (or other hard-shell case)that is slightly LARGER than the TouchPad and some sheets of soft foam and make it work for you. You can always add padding.
And don't complain too much about living in the Nederlands, you do have all those wonderful cafes to visit with your TP.
Wait a second Now I know why you are so worried about dropping it!!!
hahaha ok thx will wait or try an otterbox. Thx again
yeah, i'm looking for a case now, since it seems that the touchpad screen does crack easily. i have a small hairline crack along the bottom of the screen, maybe 2 inches long. doesn't affect screen functions, but still annoying. it's been in my bag, and I haven't dropped it once.
kinda wish I still had my Nook Color. The fact that the screen was depressed slightly relative to the bezel meant that it was protected from cracks more than the edge to edge glass design on the TP.
Think i will buy one of those cheap case from ebay. It's about $12. And a screen protector. Will monitor if otterbox comes out for touchpad.

Pretty unlikely they would invest in tooling up for a TP-specific case since TP production will end after this next batch.
But several companies make so many different kinds and sizes of hard-shell cases, I meant you might find one that may be a hair larger and work with some additional padding. Here's one from Pelican http://www.pelican.com/cases_detail_print.php?Case=1075 that has the "pick n pluck" foam padding but there's no price.
B&H photo in the U.S. sell the Pelican 1075 for $60 so U.K. pricing will most likely be £60.
There are other slim briefcase styles about but whether they are useful or not I don't know http://www.mezzi.com/Netbook-Cases/MEZZI-SLIM-mold-Aluminum-Briefcase/

so funny ! But don't Forget air-speed velocity!
Is there a way to i make myself stylus?
thanks ,and sorry for bad language
I guess you could try and use antistatic film to make one but you should google “How to make Capacitive Touch Screen Stylus”.
You can also buy such a stylus online.
I have a wacomBAMBOO iPad stylus i use it's really good but a bit pricey $35 you can but it at any Apple Store.
I will try to make my own
Chop off someones finger and stick it on the end of a pencil?
You could also use a sausage (it actually works! ). But I myself have a cheap stylus from dealextreme (<- link). You have to apply some preasure, but it's good enough for me.
finding spare fingers can be a bit of a tough thing to do......unless you know any Japanese gangsters
Well, you can make your own... no problem. Use a sock with conductive thread over a pen or a just roll up an antistatic plastic film (ESD protected plastic bags?)...
The best one use conductive foam, like in this video step-by-step "make it yourself" instructions... ;-)
However, I would prefer the sock, since you can ask grandma to knit one for you...
Cheers!
I have ten, custom made stylus'... True. My folks made them and they fit my hands perfectly.
Seriously, and no offence intended, but is the idea of paying for a capacitive device not so you can do without a stylus?? Seems counter-intuitive to me...
