i use the Revolutionary method to s-off
plz help me
Flash eng hboot 0.98.2000, then run the latest RUU.
If you want to flash a older RUU you may need to change your misc version.
Keep looking cause there are threads.

Hi,
My sensation is perm rooted, Ship S-Off and supercid-ed.
I read from some posts that we need ENG S-Off to be able to flash radio.
No wish to ENG S-off for now.
So my question is:
If i want to flash custom roms that comes with a different radio as my current, do i need ENG-Off ?
This is my 1st post and appreciate any help on this matter.
Thank you.
If you have the Revolutionary HBOOT then no as it's already good enough to do it. However, flashing a radio doesn't need ENG S-OFF at all as it's a ZIP file that you flash via HBOOT - get the radio you want to use from the Radio thread

thx Eddy for your reply ... tot no one would bother to answer a noob
i have the revolutionary hboot ...
So what is the purpose of " ENG S-Off " then ?
I have searched posts on this matter but some of them comes in conflicting explanations.
It was the 'official' version of the Revolutionary HBOOT - giving users the fastboot commands.
As Revolutionary have now cracked this it's not needed. I personally prefer to use the ENG HBOOT as I don't like the pink Revolutionary banner!!

This guide should help you, it is in the general's sections:

Is there a way of getting s-off with hboot 2.02?

[GUIDE] Official HBOOT v2.xx Downgrade to OLD HBOOT
Now the funny thing is, you posted in that thread as well as creating several threads where you've asked essentially the same questions.

I ment getting s-off without downgrading
No, the only way to s-off the saga is to downgrade.

Why do things have to be complicated
Sent from HTC desire S Android 4.0.4
Its a lot easier than it looks, once you start you'll be suprised how quickly you get through it. If you're not comfortable then just unlock the bootloader and flash the kernels through adb.

HBOOT-2.02.0002 S-OFF (android 2.3.7)
Hi everyone,
I have searched the forum but could not find the info i need.
I own HTC desire S, i managed to unlock it with htcdev and flash Reaper v4 Rom (android 2.3.7 without sense).
Now i would like to try 4.2.2 stock version but for this one i have to go S-OFF.
To go S-OFF i have to downgrade hboot.
my bootloader looks like this:
***UNLOCKED***
SAGA PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-2.02.0002
RADIO-3831.19.00.110
eMMC-boot
so i'm a little confused, and do not know what should i do first to make it S-OFF.
Do i have to flash other rom in order to downgrade hboot or the downgrade is possible with the current rom?
Do i have to make the device locked again?
is here some order i must follow?
thanks u'all

You don't have to be S-off you just have to flash the relevant boot.img extracted from the zip and flash it via fastboot.
Hi All,
Firstly sorry as I know this must be covered somewhere, i just seem to keep going around in circles as to what I need to do to resolve the random reboots and signal issues I am experiencing after flashing the 4.2.0 Team VenomXL ROM.
From what I have read I need to update my HBoot as im currently on 1.14.002
My understanding is i need to be SuperCID, S-Off etc before I can update the HBoot and Radio.?
I have a Telstra HTC one XL with the following:
Tampered
Unlocked
EVITA PVT SHIP S-ON XL
HBOOT 1.14.0002
RADIO- 0.20os.32.09.15
OpenDSp-V29.1.0.45.0622
eMMC-boot
Jun 11 2012.14: 36.28
TWRP 2.3.1.0
My CID is TELST001
Am i correct in needing to SuperCID first then (Tried a program but exploit didn't work)
I have tried a handful of different app's and different methods but cant seem to get any further.
Even tried the CleanROM instead but couldn't get past boot screen even after flashing new Boot.img
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks again

I would say yes, you need to update your hboot and radio to the latest htc update, which can be found in the One Android Development forum, yes you'll need SuperCID and S-Off to do that, it's just a rule of thumb to have those taken care of anyway. Good luck!
TWRP version is extremely outdated, so that is likely why CleanROM won't install properly. Update to the current version (2.7).
However, CleanROM 7 will give you the same problems (random reboot and signal drops) as the Sense 5 base is the issue. You need to update the entire firmware package, not just the hboot (the radio is likely the root cause). And to do that, you needs s-off, as you have already figured out.
You need to use the hex edit method in order to get SuperCID on your version: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41640260&postcount=2
Apps or toolkits for this phone will likely fail to get SuperCID, as they are intended for the AT&T version (since SuperCID is needed on the AT&T version just to unlock bootloader). Since they look for the AT&T CID, they don't find it on your device, and the process fails.
After SuperCID, you may use Facepalm to s-off. Alternately, you can use Rumrunner or Firewater to s-off, as these methods do NOT require SuperCID as a prerequisite. All these methods can be found on my Index thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671237
I would say start with Rumrunner, as its likely the easiest solution for your specific case.
Once you have s-off, you can use Turge's instruction to install the 2.15 firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45072132&postcount=1
I'd say the easiest solution is the following:
1. Get s-off via Rumrunner.
2. Get SuperCID by issuing this fastboot command:
Code:
fastboot oem writecid 11111111
3. Update to the 2.15 firmware package found in the first post of this thread.
This is the easiest method because it means you don't need to mess around with hex editing your CID to get SuperCID. The Rumrunner s-off method is very easy and over you have s-off getting SuperCID is as simple as using the command I mentioned. From there updating your firmware is a piece of cake and you should suffer no more problems.

ive tried the revolutionary method and its just hanging. the version of hboot for that is not 2.00.0002
is there any other way from a windows machine to turn the s-off right now i cant find a good download link anywhere for any othe s-off tools.
help, advice?
please
You have to downgrade first, to a 0.98 Hboot (ruu beginning 1.x), then revolutionary should work. There is at least one guide to downgrade your hboot in the general section.
There's no way to s-off a desire s with hboot 2.xx without downgrading (or using an xtc clip).
