ive been working on this off and on for a while, and ive finally managed to get SlimICS to boot!!!
unfortunatly there are many major bugs...the biggest one: Launchers are not working so i cant test any apps
the status bar is working and i managed to enter settings through the status bar and was able to connect to my wifi network, however i can not actually test the internet as i can not access any apps
now that i have it booting though i will be devoting alot more time to it...and it looks like theROMinator and i may be working together on this one so hopefully we should have a stableish version up soon!
well. nobody tryed before because we didn't have any kernel that supported ics.. i don't know if jt's or entropy source kernels will work...

I heard its pretty easy to port aosp roms. This shows it lol. I may try it myself if it is reported working, makes getting aokp and others a lot easier.
That would be great. I am running slim on my captivate and really like it.

Its definatly not as easy as it sounded...first they wernt flashing at all, i manged to get them to flash...but now it sends me to a boot loop. I tried to read the logcat to see what was causing the bootloop and to my suprise...logcat isnt working!!!! Ill definatly put more time into this though, i am determined to get it to at least boot up!!!! No ETA though, this is the first time ive ever ported a rom...maybe i shouldve ported some gingerbread roms before i tried porting ics...

A lot of ics roms are beginning to pop up...and Ive gotten slim ics to flash however it bootloops. But I'm pretty sure I know what the problem is and after I pick up my sister from school I'll get back to working on it...if I'm right on what's causing the bootloops then we may have another ics rom coming our way

i got it out of the bootloops!!!! but alot of stuff need fixing...i used the following guide to get it to where it is right now:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1630237
wifi is connecting though cant really test it as the launcher that came with slim (ZEAM) isnt working) so i cant access any apps...i can get to setting through the status bar though and was able to connect to my wifi
gonna reboot and do some logcats and see if i can figure out whats going on
if you want, i can upload what i have and pm you a link if you want...get two guys working on the bugs at the same time
If you can get BT audio to work I am all up for helping with testing. Just need it because of local laws.

unfortunatly this is being ported using entropys latest CM9( build so whatever doesnt work on that will not work on here...)
i doubt i could even come close to fixing bluetooth...but once this gets more stable i may look into it...but once again the chances of me getting bluetooth are very poor, pretty much impossible...even our best devs have been unable to get bluetooth to work :/
Are you guys building from source?

@Nun No, just base porting.
@mg Hmm, did you use the 3.6base or essentials download as a base?

i used both! what i did was this:
got entropys latest cm9, deleted the app, media, fonts, framework folders
then i replaced the deleted ones with the ones in the 3.6 base
i then took the i9000 3.6 essentials and instead of copying the folders i copied the files to the apropriate folders
i then flashed itthe reason it was bootlooping earlier was because it was missing the libandroid_runtime.so
the problem with the launcher is there is still some stuff from the /lib directory needed...flashed one with all the .so from lib and launcher shwed up however touch screen wasnt working...so now to go those logcats and see which lib i need
This is CM7 for the Blaze, trying to give you all some Dev love. I need testers to post a logcat for any issues that arise.
You flash this at your own risk because this is a PreAlpha Kang for dev purposes.
Make sure you wipe before you flash!

SDCard.
Thanks!
Thanks for putting this up. Ill get to testing it on the weekend when i dont need the phone working lol. I will try and logcat any findings.
As soon as I get rooted I will give it a shot. Probably be a week or so before I will have time, but I definitely thank you for the work!

the screen stays at the cm7 logo the bar loaded all the way across but doesnt do anything further. hope this helps.
I love how not one custom rom works for this phone lmao

So, what can you/we do to get this rom fully functional?
Yea hopefully they can fix whats going on, definately cant wait for a cyanogen rom. I also have a question, why does my phone say i only have 768mb of ram on the task manager? Im sapposed to have a gig. I find it odd. Or is the system just using a big chunk and thats the "available" ram for everything else? Even quadrant says on the system info tab, 803816 kbytes of memory.....

I believe, not 100% sure, part of the ram is reserved for touchwiz or the entire operating system.
Now it says 785 for some random reason but yea that would make sense. Thats what i figured anyway. Thanks.

it is probably is giving you that message because you need to add product_specs for the pyramid. If you can give me a link to what setup guide you are using i might be able to help you but I have may not have enough free storage to help fully.

This is the documentation that I used to set up the system.
And in what step you are now? Do you compile kernel?
I couldn't find the init.rc in etc folder of cm9, so I couldn't build the kernel.

You will have to decompile a kernel to get the init.rc file. I use dixda's Android Kitchen to do this.
I rebuilt the kernel from cm9 kernel's init.rc, but I still get the error.

I got all the tools and stuff installed and went through all the other stuff in the Porting guide you posted a link to. But when I run the command, ANDROIDFS_DIR=my_device_backup ./config.sh <device_id> default.xml" I got the following error.
Code:
Get tmp_manifest_repo
error: revision master in manifests not found
Repo sync failed
It is 7:07 in the morning and I have not been to sleep yet so I am going to go to bed and try to figure out what the issue is with the manifest this evening.
Ok the problem is I do not have a tmp_manifest_repo folder in G2B so now I got to figure out Wu I do not have one. Do you have this folder in your build folder?
Also if you need me to I can give you detailed instructions on what I did about the init.rc file.

Usually, that folder is automatically generated, and default.xml is placed in there.

Yeah that is what I said when I understood hat the error was. The first thing is suppose to do is generate tmp_manifest_repo Folder and its contents. Maybe it was just a fluke and it will correct itself when I try again in a little bit. I only tried it once this morning and I was to tired to try again after setting up long enough to find the cause of the issue.
Has it built yet?

Hey All,
I'm trying to build AOKP. After running the command "mka bacon -j5" I am getting the following error.
Code:
build/core/base_rules.mk:133: *** hardware/ril/libril: MODULE.TARGET.SHARED_LIBRARIES.libril already defined by device/htc/msm8960-common/libril. Stop.
I've tried navigating to the base_rules.mk file to see if there was anything in there to edit but could not find anything related to hardware/ril/libril. Did a quick search on google and on XDA for the error but not getting any results back. Thanks for the help.

Navigate to hardware/ril. And delete the entire libril file... What are you trying to make 4.1 or 4.2?
Base_rules.mk is not the error its a code.. where it failed is after that.. In your case it says you've go two seperate files trying to make one thing.. You need to get rid of one.. Since msm8960 is for the device your building for you need to off the other one.. That won't be your only error building for an in supported device takes a lot of patience.. Good luck..

Thanks for the response droyd.
I am trying to build 4.2. I basically used the method that klin posted to build Baked, however, tweaked everything for AOKP instead. (used intervigilium's repository instead of klin's, etc.) Should I have gone about it another way. Do you still recommend deleting the hardware/ril folder?

Android Infused with Magical Unicorn Bytes--LOL
AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project [Play of words on AOSP(Android Open Source Project)]
So I got bored and I decided to dev.
Here is my first source built ROM and I have some plans.
What doesn't work--->Call Audio goes to speaker, GPS, Wifi, Device Settings FC, THERE MIGHT BE MORE FOR YOU TO DISCOVER, POST LOGS, AND REPORT ON
What works, everything else
HOW TO INSTALL--> Please be on an MTD rom of some sort such as CM7 or ANY ICS/JellyBean, this will prevent any potential errors that I haven't discovered.
IN RECOVERY--> Wipe System and Do a Factory Reset--> Download and Flash Rom Followed By GAPPS.
LINKS ARE OVER HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ROM LINK
GAPPS
How to help me:
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
SCREENIES COME LATER
